Blood Moon -Viewed from Jerusalem

More photos & story here

A photo of the lunar eclipse as seen from Jerusalem yesterday, June 15, 2011  or 13th of Sivan 5771 on the Hebrew Calendar.

Another lunar eclipse will occur of December 20, 2011 that is  24th of Kislev 5772 on the Hebrew Calendar.  December 20th, 2011 is the day before Chanukah, the Festival of Lights that occurs from December 21-28 this year.

Sage, as our resident bible teacher, what is the significance of a blood moon in prophecy?

Well I’m not Sage but I found three references to the Blood Moon in the Bible: In the Old Testament, the prophet Joel states, “The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.” (Joel 2:31) In the New Testament, Jesus is quoted as saying, “Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light … And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the… Read more »

“sage” …. better check what you post for accuracy. Jonah was in the belly THREE days, not “40” = aka telling lies! Puts the rest of your theories in a questionable light.

The lunar eclipse is on December 10, 2011 (not Dec. 20) with the greatest eclipse at 14:31:49 UT in the eastern part of the constellation Taurus. This is according to the NASA website on lunar eclipses. On the Hebrew calendar it is the 14th of Kislev. The next day, on the 15th of Kislev is the anniversary date of the Greeks setting up the “Abomination of Desolation” on the altar of the Temple (wikipedia). The new moon will be on December 24, 2011 (28th of Kislev) on the 5th day of Hanukkah.
