Bill Cosby is an enthusiastic uncritical Obama supporter

My post on actor Bill Cosby being accused of rape by 16 women (the latest count), some of whom are in their 60s and 70s, stimulated comments of skepticism and incredulity by some readers of this blog. It is suggested the accusations of rape may be the Left’s and Obama’s payback against “conservative” Cosby for having been critical of Obama and some aspects of the Black subculture.

So here’s the record on Cosby and Obama:

Bill Cosby said “it was wonderful” to vote for Obama

On January 11, 2009, Cosby was asked by Dick Gregory of NBC’s “Meet the Press” about “what it was like for you to go in and vote for Barack Obama”? This is what Cosby said:

Well, I took my father’s picture, I took my mother’s picture and I took my brother James, he died when he was seven, I was eight. And I took the three of them into the voting booth in Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts, and I pulled the curtain and I took their pictures out and I said, “And now we’re going to vote.” And I — we only, I only voted once. But — and I did that and their pictures were out, and then I put them back into my pocket and I opened the curtain. And it, and it was wonderful.

Bill Cosby voted for Obama in 2008 and 2012

On April 15, 2013, Cosby (whom CNN called the “legendary” actor/comedian) told CNN‘s Candy Crowley he had voted for Obama for president in 2008 and again in 2012.

Bill Cosby defended Obama against his disappointed supporters

In that same April 15, 2013 CNN interview (see video above), Cosby was asked about supporters of Barack Obama — blacks, lesbians and “gays,” the “poor” — who now are disappointed that Obama hasn’t “done enough” for them but is “too middle-of-the-road.” Cosby defended Obama and instead blamed Obama’s critics, singling out in particular those Americans who question whether Obama is a “natural born citizen” — a necessary condition for the presidency, as specified in Article II of the U.S. Constitution. This is what Bill Cosby said (beg. at the 0:26 mark):

“I’m disappointed at people who don’t look at the woes and the trouble given to this man [Obama]. People blatantly speaking out against his color, wasting time, starting up new stories about whether or not he was born here, saying things that they can’t prove. … People want to make [his job] as difficult as the one that Sisyphus had. And then when you see that he made promises and said things and the people who were supposed to be working with him didn’t. The people who were supposed to be working, even for another party, didn’t care about the American people. They wanted to get him. When people make statements like ‘I hope he fails,’ you can’t color that any other way except the way it’s said.”

Bill Cosby called those who oppose Obama sick racists

On March 4, 2013, on CNN, this is what Cosby said about “the people” (i.e., Republican members of Congress) who were sitting down, instead of “standing and cheering,” while “the President” Barack Obama gave his State of the Union speech (beg. at the 0:38 mark):

I think we have people sitting down who are as bad as the people that were against any kind of desegregation, and in place of a better America, they want their own sick feelings put across.

Then Cosby even intimated that racists had something to do with the assassination of President John K. Kennedy.

  1. Well it seems that Mr. Cosby is a stealth POS. He’s managed to fly under the radar for years. I think he’s absolutely disgusting and the fact that he voted for Obama now makes perfect sense, both he and the President are failures as humans.

  2. Guess payback is a bitch after all

  3. The most disgusting, outrageous aspect of this? Here is yet another so-called African-American role model, abundantly blessed, who in Truth has an ugly soul. How tragic, for youth, to look up to gravely morally ill mega-successful adults.

  5. Peace 😀

  6. Well, now we see his true colors. It’s counter-intuitive that Cosby rails against the woes amongst the African-American community . . . yet he is willing to vote to keep in place the greatest leader of these very debilitating programs. Don’t ya just want your free phone, free food, free housing, free medical; all free because someone else had their labor (our “labor” produces the money that this government spends–it doesn’t grow on trees) confiscated to provide these “freebies” to others.

  7. Thank you for bringing this most incitement information to us. May you be blessed for your efforts.

  8. I used to think cosby was a’ok but now I see birds of a feather. I used to volunteer at a community center which almost overnight became a crash pad and handout center for black and latino chronic drug addicts, ex cons, radicals of color. They were incapable of running a successful community center and most of the admin and volunteers were white. The volunteers treated blacks and Hispanics with kindness which was returned by them ooking and eeking loudly about exterminating the white satan
Well anyway after pResident Lucifer had been in office a few years, they kept ooking tjhat Obama was the messiah.
So as an experiment I asked few of them a hypothetical question first asking if they Knew who Satan was, the reply he be da debbil and evil
I then asked, “ok correct if you knew the president was the devil, would you still vote for him?” The unanimous reply was “YES of course. cause he be a black man.”
so cosby won’t get quanza card from me this year

  9. Thank you, Dr. Eowyn. I am one of those who thought Cosby was a more reasonable person in matters of race. And we don’t know if the allegations are true. But that said, Bill Cosby is no longer on the pedestal he formerly occupied in my mind.

  10. Thank You Dr. Eowyn,
this post makes sense to me now. I read the one from yesterday and felt incredulous about it and even typed a long response but got busy with family before I could post it. I’m uncertain which is more disgusting to me; the double digit rape allegations that surpass three decades or the fact the he is associated with someone as despicable and amoral as obama….birds of a feather. I’m moving on from the bill cosby fan club.

  11. So… Not only did Mr. Cosby feed others the “roofies,” but he also drank the Kool-Aid. Politics sure attracts the poseurs. What we need to know now is, How do we know all of his accusers are telling the truth? Let us assume at least one of his accusers is telling the truth: Is there at least one accuser who is lying? I’m not trying to defend Cosby: I am still wondering if there is a movement afoot to destroy him because it is convenient. Let us assume at least one accuser is lying: Who benefits from that? The Tawana Brawley affair was disgusting enough.

  12. Assuming all but one are lying-does that make it any less a rape? People go to prison every day for committing one rape. does it really matter if he raped once or ten times? The important thing will be to have the Courts decide if he’s guilty or not guilty, not the public.
