Jerome R. Corsi, a Harvard Ph.D., is a WND senior staff reporter. He has authored many books, including No. 1 N.Y. Times best-sellers “The Obama Nation” and “Unfit for Command.”

A successful Hollywood producer who had an insider’s view of Hillary Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign claims she heard Bill Clinton say that Barack Obama is not eligible to be president.
Bettina Viviano – who started her own film production company in 1990 after serving as vice president of production for Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment – told WND that it was common knowledge among delegates committed to Hillary that the Clintons believed Obama was constitutionally ineligible and that Bill Clinton would eventually disclose his belief to the public.
The Clintons were the original “birthers,” Viviano told WND in an interview in Los Angeles.
“Everybody who has called this a conspiracy from the Republicans or the tea party, they need to know who started it – the Democrats,” she said.
“It was Hillary and Bill, and it percolated up from there,” said Viviano, who had access to the campaign through a documentary she produced on the claims of delegates that Obama and the Democratic National Committee were stealing the nomination from Hillary.
As WND reported, Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio and his team investigating Obama’s eligibility believe there is probable cause that the documents released by the White House as Obama’s long-form birth certificate and Selective Service registration form are forgeries.
Viviano said that she was on a conference phone call during the primary season in the spring of 2008 in which she heard Bill Clinton refer to Obama as ineligible for the presidency.
In the course of the phone conversation with Hillary delegates, she recalled, Bill Clinton spoke of Obama as “the non-citizen.”
“In the world we were in, with [Hillary’s] super-delegates and delegates, it just was, ‘He’s not legit – that’s the end of it, period, end of story.’ It wasn’t up for discussion,” Viviano said.
Michele Thomas, a Hillary campaigner from Los Angeles, confirmed to WND that she learned from “many people who were close to Hillary” that Obama “was not eligible to be president.”
Thomas led a nationwide petition drive among delegates to force a vote on Hillary’s nomination at the convention after then-DNC Chairman Howard Dean announced her name would not be put into nomination and Obama would be declared the winner by unanimous acclamation.
Viviano said that it was understood that Bill Clinton would eventually go public with his contention that Obama was ineligible for the presidency.
“He, I believe, was frothing at the mouth to tell the truth about Obama,” she said.
In the meantime, she recalled, the former president would make ironic references in public in which he “teetered” on revealing he position.
“He would go on camera,” Viviano said, “and jokingly make comments about, you know, ‘Is Obama qualified to be president? Well, if he’s 35 and a wink, wink, United States citizen, I guess he’s qualified.’”
She claimed, however, that Bill Clinton’s intention to unequivocally state to the public that Obama was ineligible was stopped in its tracks by the murder of a close friend of the Clintons, Arkansas Democratic Party Chairman Bill Gwatney, just two weeks before the Democratic National Convention in Denver.
Gwatney was killed Aug. 13, 2008, when a 50-year-old man entered Democratic Party headquarters in Little Rock and shot him three times. Police killed the murderer after a chase, and investigators found no motive.
The Clintons said in a statement that they were “stunned and shaken” by the killing of their “cherished friend and confidante.”
Viviano said a campaign staffer who was close to Hillary, whose name she requested be withheld for security reasons, told her Gwatney’s murder was a message to Bill Clinton. “I was told by this person that that was ‘Shut up, Bill, or you’re next,’” she said.
The campaign adviser, according to Viviano, said that despite the intimidation and threats, Bill Clinton was prepared to speak out about Obama’s eligibility
“And then,” Viviano said, paraphrasing the staffer, “they went in and said, ‘OK, it’s your daughter, now, we’ll go after.’ And then Bill never said anything.”
Others in the campaign who believe Gwatney’s murder was a message to the Clintons think it had to do with the fact that Gwatney was resisting an effort by the Obama campaign and the party to intimidate Hillary delegates into voting for Obama.
But Viviano argues that California delegates also were rebelling, and she says her source told her the same story two years later.
Since the 2008 campaign, Clinton has insisted publicly that Obama is eligible for the White House.
He weighed in on the issue in an April 2011 interview with ABC’s “Good Morning America,” when Donald Trump was urging Obama to release his long-form birth certificate to the public. “If I were them, I’d be really careful riding that birther horse too much,” Clinton said. “Everyone knows it’s ludicrous.”
‘I had never voted in my life’
When Viviano headed production for Spielberg, her credits included the second and third “Back to the Future” films, “Cape Fear,” “Land Before Time,” “Schindler’s List,” “Always,” “Roger Rabbit” and the third “Indiana Jones” film.
She launched her own production and management company, Viviano Entertainment, in 1990. Her movies include “Three to Tango” and “Jack and Jill,” starring Adam Sandler.
Viviano was plunged into the world of campaign politics in 2008 as an admitted neophyte when Hollywood screenwriter and director Gigi Gaston asked her to produce a documentary called “We Will Not Be Silenced” on allegations of voter fraud against Hillary Clinton by the Obama campaign and the Democratic National Committee.
“I had never voted in my life. I wasn’t a Democrat, I wasn’t a Republican. I wasn’t anything,” Viviano said. “I didn’t know anything about any of this.”
Viviano said that when she and her co-workers informed Hillary campaigners that they were making a film about voter fraud, “the floodgates opened.” “I mean, everybody had a story to tell about death threats, threats, intimidation, document falsifying, vandalism, property theft,” she said. “It was the most horrible thing I’ve ever heard in my life.”
Viviano said that in research for the film, allegations and evidence that Obama was not eligible “came up immediately.”
“We were getting hit with so many things about Obama,” she said. “This is when (Bill) Ayers and (Rashid) Khalidi were in the news, and then, all of a sudden, ‘Oh, and he’s not eligible to be president.’”
Viviano insisted to WND that her reason for speaking out now was not related to the fact that Obama beat Hillary.
“It’s not about Hillary,” she said. “It’s about No. 1, I’m American, I live in a country where there is a Constitution and a set of laws. I also have somebody in the White House who has lied, obfuscated, provided what we all know to be forged documents about who he is.”
She acknowledges that she could jeopardize her Hollywood career.
“What can you do?” she said. “It’s my country. My dad fought for this country in World War II in the 82nd Airborne.”
Her late father, she noted, was shot down twice during the war and was awarded two Purple Hearts.
“I think, would he rather have me sitting in the corner cowering, and afraid of people, or would he rather have me tell the truth and what I saw?”

  1. Very interesting, but will any of this matter? I’m not counting on this getting the serious attention that it deserves. Defeating Obama in November is a much more realistic way to ensure he won’t get four more years to destroy this great country.

    • Ed,
The truth matters — maybe not for politics in our corrupt time, but for the chroniclers of history. You pose a false either/or choice between “defeating Obama in November” and Obama’s eligibility. The two are not mutually exclusive. We can and should do BOTH.

      • I agree that the truth matters and that we should do both. That’s why I stated that it should get the serious attention it deserves. I just don’t think it will get that attention. Call me cynical, but I don’t think the mainstream media will pursue this story and most Republican leaders are too afraid to touch it. What we do have some control over is November’s election and we must soon coalesce behind a candidate and fight tooth and nail to victory. I believe that candidate is Romney.

I hear what you’re saying, but even after his defeat this needs to be pursued and he needs to be held accountable for this high crime.

    • they all do Tom. I and many, many Americans are living for this day. The snake has many heads, that need chopped off. They have shown theirselves. We now know exactly who they are. They know who they are. They are not going to let go easy. The penalty for treason is death. As it should be. Both Clintons are involved in trying to overthrow America,as are the Bush dynasty. Soros, all of them. They knew better, but**they chose to dance with the devil. Either you love this Country and you are going to fight for it. Or,find yourself on the short end of the stick, with these communists, included are D.C. politicians, state and local. Things will be set right this time around. How long will it last? As long as it takes to get the job done. Communists,socialists,marxists,muslims-have no place in America.

  3. Just ask Ross Perot about threats and intimidation….
and then decide between the Evil Party and the Stupid Party

  4. Add to the list of murders,,,,,,uh I mean deaths. I always wondered what happened to Arnold Schwarzenegger when he became governor of California. He was going to change everything and then his term in office ended with the state being in worse condition than ever! I believe his family was threatened. Corruption from all corners. I think they should bring home the troops to protect us from the enemy within.

  5. Interesting….and not surprising, either.

  6. This woman, Bettina Viviano, has nothing to gain and everything — including her life — to lose by telling this to WND. Now we know why the Clintons were silent — they got a taste of their own murderous medicine.

Did you ever wonder. . . Why Barak? I mean, if they wanted a liberal black man to run for president, couldn’t they find one that was a legitimate citizen and had an impressive academic record? It only makes me think that it is truly God that raises up and puts down “kings.” Even evil rulers were allowed to reign in Biblical times as punishment for a nation that had turned its back on God. After four years, we are still unrepentent as a nation. I think we will be headed into four more worse years. . .

Eowyn, why is an OBAMA campaign ad on your site? Is something wrong with my computer?

    • Homeschool Mama:
      Good grief.
WordPress, who hosts Fellowship of the Minds for free, occasionally inserts an ad into one of our posts. I have no control over it, and FOTM most definitely does not profit from it. That’s the price for being a blog. 🙁
What is curious is that I and the other writers of FOTM don’t see the ads WordPress inserts into this site. We writers see a different version of FOTM — a version that has all the editing and administrative bells and whistles.

There is no statement by a framer which equated “native born” citizenship, the phrase Obama II has used to describe his status, with “natural born” citizenship. From John Jay and Dr. David Ramsay, Thomas Jefferson and George Washington, to Breckenridge Long, who exposed Charles Evans Hughes as ineligible when Hughes ran for president against Woodrow Wilson, (because Hughes’s parents were British subjects), anyone claiming jus soli, born on our soil, sufficient for natural born citizenship has a political motive, or has chosen to believe others who do.
Even Senator Patrick Leahy agreed with his political patsy, former federal judge and Homeland Security Secretary, Michael Chertoff in April 2008, when Chertoff said, “My assumption and my understanding is that if you are born of American parents, you are naturally a natural-born American citizen,” Chertoff replied. “That is mine, too,” said Leahy (from Patrick Leahy’s recently-scrubbed Senate website).
There is a long list of jurists, historians, founders and framers who repeat the commonly-understood definition for “natural born Citizen.” Even our Library of Congress provides annotations to the Constitution explaining that the concept descended from English common law and required natural born subjects to have had two citizen parents and have been born on the soil or abroad.
However, as General Paul Vallely has suggested, we have now a complicit field officer corps in our military, along with our entire legislature and our “independent” judiciary. When Obama’s legal counsel, Bob Bauer, can corrupt a judge, by placing a clerk in his office, specifically Judge David O. Carter in Los Angeles, despite the fact that he is a former Marine officer, we are no longer a representative republic. All the reading recommendations would only confirm what Obama told us himself: “I am a native born citizen of the U.S.” He told us he was born on our soil, but not of citizen parents – the definition of “native born U.S. citizen.” He knew he would not be challenged. We need a stronger challenge either to frighten our current leadership into respecting our Constitution, or we need to replace them all.
The only legislator to ask publicly for verification of Obama’s eligibility, former Georgia Congressman Nathan Deal, who is now running for governor, was accused of ethics charges within weeks of his letter to the White House and resigned from Congress. Deal would have been bankrupted by Obama’s justice department, a department more interested in protecting terrorists than respecting our Constitution. However, right now Nathan Deal is the only legislator who has demonstrated the integrity we need to lead in a representative republic based upon a foundation of law. No other legislator has been willing to directly ask for the truth (though the Florida congressman who tried to introduce a bill to vet candidates showed a little courage).
If you have any doubts about the meaning of “natural born” citizenship, besides reading any of a dozen Supreme Court cases, e.g., The Venus, Minor v. Happersett, Shanks v. Dupont, Perkins v. Elg, Wong Kim Ark, a framer, Dr. David Ramsay, who served on the ratification convention for the state of South Carolina and was a President of the States United, wrote a “Dissertation on the Manner of Acquiring the Character and Privileges of a Citizen” in 1789. In this eight-page pamphlet, he brilliantly explains why we are citizens and not subjects, and also explains the importance of having been born on the soil of citizen parents, calling it “Birthright citizenship.” His pamphlet demonstrates that the concept preceded the term used by our framers. He also explains the reason the term “residency” was included.
General Vallely has shown what is missing in tea parties and the discreet actions of concerned citizens: leadership. The General has clearly enunciated the state of what was formerly our republic, which every day becomes more controlled by the federal government. He has also demonstrated what he learned in the Command and General Staff school. We need to find a leader behind whom to unite in order to force our government to respect the Constitution, or to force its dissolution.
Our military has shown its willingness to take orders from someone who has declared himself in violation of the eligibility clause for the presidency. The Army doctor, Lt. Col. Lakin, is challenging Obama’s eligibility based on questions about Obama’s place of birth, but a birth certificate from any state in the Union does not make Obama a “natural born Citizen” because of the foreign citizenship of Obama’s father. Unless Lakin has unassailable proof that Obama was born outside the U.S., he has no case, unless he addresses “jus sanguinis,” the parental component of “natural born Citizen.” (The strong requirement for citizenship for presidents is referred to in natural law or law of nations as “jus soli AND jus sanguinis.”)
Regarding birth to citizen parents while serving the country abroad, in 1790, an effort was made to deem the children of military serving overseas “reputed natural born citizens.” The statute was unconstitutional and was replaced in 1795, but it is that statute that was tossed about by the Senate Resolution 511 panel as well as by McCaskill’s earlier bill, S. 2678 in February 2008 to make McCain look eligible. There has never been a statute claiming to make the child of an alien a “natural born Citizen.” It is ridiculous to think that our founders and framers would permit the child of a Royalist parent to become Commander-in-Chief. In 25 attempts to amend that provision, no senator has even gotten both the House and Senate to agree, let alone asked three-quarters of the states to concur.
Associate Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas has been the only justice to tacitly acknowledge that the Supreme Court was “evading” the issue. When Congressman Serrano asked Clarence Thomas if he, who had been born in Puerto Rico, could run for president, Thomas said he could become a Supreme Court justice (meaning no!). That appears to be a tacit jab by Hernandez to show Thomas that the left now interprets the Constitution. Thomas certainly knows.
Every justice, perhaps with the exception of Thomas, should be examined by Congress for misprision, since every justice knows that five chief justices have quoted “born on the soil of citizen parents.” They should all be impeached, and they can be impeached, but it will mean controlling Congress with super-majorities. With rampant election fraud, that is unlikely to occur. We have no audit trail for vote counting and no reason to believe reported vote counts. That is one reason George Soros has funded a group to target the selection of secretaries of state for the “57″ states.
Finally, of course, Governor Jindal of Louisiana is ineligible. It is sad that he hasn’t had the character to say that publicly.

At first I thought it was an ad making fun of Obama. It shows him in business suit walking down a hallway, where he stops to fist-bump an Hispanic looking janitor. The words on the still shot say something like “Have Obama’s Back”. It was so stereotypically racist it really looked like a joke, but then at the bottom was the Obama logo and a paid for by campaign for Obama 2012. George Washington would have been proud!

  11. Too bad the Three Stooges (that would be Bonehead, Can’t Do, and McDummell are all suffering from HUTA disease.
