Are You Guilty Of Whiteness?

If you are White, Asian, Latino, or Not-Black-Enough (like Ben Carson), this professor says you are guilty.

What consequences will society suffer from colleges indoctrinating students into race hatred? This is America, but it may soon look like South Africa, where “whites” are hunted down for perceived offenses.

Dr. Kris Sealey

THE COLLEGE FIX: RACIAL ISSUES WHITE PRIVILEGE
Professor teaches students about ‘the problem that is whiteness’
NATHAN RUBBELKE – JULY 5, 2017
Editor’s Note: This is the fifth in a series of articles reporting on ‘Where Do We Go From Here: Creating An Intersectional Vision for Radical Social Change,’ a diversity conference held June 13-16 at Fairfield University
FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Serious explorations into race should focus on the problem of whiteness and be grounded in the claim that it’s a hegemonic “power apparatus,” a Fairfield University professor suggested at a recent conference aimed at pushing “radical social change” in higher education.
“So more and more, the courses that I teach on race have become courses in which I expect my students to engage in the hegemonic power of whiteness,” said Sealey, who’s taught courses such as “Black Lives Matter” and “Critical Race Theory…”

George Yancy

…Sealey’s comments were based in the book “Black Bodies, White Gazes: The Continuing Significance of Race” by Emory University philosopher George Yancy.
Discussing Yancy’s work, the professor said she’s moved by his premise that “any inquiry into the experience of blackness must include some genealogy or some history of the white gaze.” Taking the thesis seriously, Sealey said, means “to acknowledge that any critical investigation of race should devote some time to the problem that is whiteness.”
Some take-aways from this article:

  • Whiteness means a specific power apparatus that exists at the expense of the disempowerment of black people.
  • To be white in the U.S. is to be a perpetuator of the power apparatus unless one actively and consistently resists.
  • It is possible, perhaps necessary, to acknowledge one’s personal implications in the white power apparatus.

“I AM GUILTY”. Whites to whites, Blacks to blacks, Chinese to chinese, I believe mixing is only when baking a cake.

Blacks from the African continents and Haiti are humble people with little luck and brutally murdered by their own rulers, BLACK AMERICANS are racists, full of hate for simply being BLACK. Slavery has been abolished yet they are slaves to themselves for not breaking away and becoming self sufficient, educated individuals. The BLACK AMERICANS are so racists when they become something they turn their backs on their own kind, they pretend they are the whites in their black world.

You raise an interesting and true point here, Alma. I live in a boarding house. Ray is a black man, very nice to me, and he lives upstairs. But he always used to lecture me on Jim Crowe and everything else. I’m 61 and have eleven years on him. Then suddenly, Chris, my then-roommate who lived next door, were talking. He said something very revealing. He said that Ray is “mad at life because he is not white.” I’ve had hundreds of black passengers in my cab since. And when we do talk, this is what I listen for. And… Read more »

pushing this false narrative keeps the paycheck coming for those in “higher education”…

MomOfIV . . . which is really a shame. I would be afraid to take a course offered by a black instructor . . . since it appears that they may already have a pre-determined assessment of you and/or your abilities. Has anyone ever complained of black instructors favoring black students when it comes to assigning grades to their students?

interesting question Auntie,
I imagine in today’s PC atmosphere white students are probably too afraid to speak up about it for fear of being called “racist”.

One big and very important difference between white Americans and white South Africans is the US Constitution and the 2nd Amendment. Lock and load and be prepared to defend yourself.

Whites are in fact the ‘master race’ because of our tendency to conflict, compete, and fight for what we consider right within our own race. When the fight is for survival, the most natural inclination is to stick with our own kind. I make no apologies for being, pejoratively speaking, a honky What these pea-brained proclaimers with their “blackness” proclivity refuse to accept is that the U.S.A. was founded by learned white Christians of superior intellect. Their entire narrative highlights an inherent lack of capacity for creative, critical thinking. My suggestion for another course, Blackness – Stuck on Stupid.

Many are not coming from war torn areas. And those that are, you have to wonder if their areas are so horrible why did they feel compelled to leave the women and children there?

Those areas don’t give out free stuff and valuable prizes like we do.

“My suggestion for another course, Blackness – Stuck on Stupid.” And I have a title for Blackness studies too- Stupid is, as Stupid does. My head feels like bursting from the claims of these moronic Blacks. I am at the point of really wishing for them to just go back to Africa or give them three states out of the US and let them to take make their own government and take responsibility for themselves. Then they would see that it isn’t Whitey that keeps them down, but their own low IQ’s, and lack of impulse control. Wherever Blacks are… Read more »

I believe it comes down to this: these professors have spent their entire lives hearing about whitey keeping them down, that’s all they were taught in school, at home, at church. They didn’t learn anything else, they have no other skills. So instead of being able to contribute to any tangible useful cause (ex: cancer research, literacy, pick a cause), they whine. They’re angry toddlers that nobody will shut up.

I’ve lived in NYC my whole life, and I will let you in on a little secret: Some black people are the most racist people on Earth. Their minds are made up, and you won’t persuade them with facts. On two different occasions, at two different schools, black students interrupted me and said that their parents “teach [them] race hatred.” That’s a one-on-one thing. But here we have institutionalized racism, by phony intellectuals who just don’t use right reason: They are contrarian for the sake of being contrarian. And note the use of “structures,” “social constructs,” “hegemony,” “narrative,” and the… Read more »

This is clearly part of the Tribe’s agenda. We really can’t discuss “race”. If people agree that some “races” are disadvantaged, are we not supposed to look at that statement and question both its veracity and any attendant reasons for it? America has not cornered the market on “race problems”. One might ask just why there seems to be the same general result in places where no pattern of ‘whiteness” influences the failures? Is there something more going on here than simple “white supremacy”? I’m fairly sure that most whites would not object to blacks attempting to live by the… Read more »

I, for one, feel absolutely no guilt because I was born white. We were not privileged, but we worked our rears off to achieve what we needed. I refuse to play their game of constantly playing victim. If they so desire. They could have everything the “white” people worked for. It seems to me, the only thing here is the sad teachings many of the blacks are taught at home. It borders on envy of not being white. Example, when I attended school, we had only one black family that attended that school, they had several children of all ages.… Read more »

WHO FUNDS these 2 creeps? If they didn’t have funding, they’d be out on the street –doing whatever comes naturally. This is an opinion piece with Yancy’s by-line in the NYTimes this past month. He thinks highly of ‘rabbi’ Abraham Joshua Heschel, who is famously quoted as having said that he wanted to attack the souls of Catholics as he plotted with Cardinal Bea before and during Vatican II. Heschel was a duplicitous fiend who accused everyone of all the things of which he and his tribe are guilty. But Yancy thinks he is to be remembered and quoted, often.… Read more »

I am guilty of being born White. I had no choice. That’s the way I came out genetically. Maybe there were OTHERS like me who had NO GENETIC CHOICE about birth color?????? OMG….????? I have many WHITE great-grandparents who came to this country when it was wild and almost forbidding to live in. Scots who lived in the mountains away fr the English colonies and aided in our Independence and then my Irish who were called “MICKS” b/c they were from Ireland and were worked to death in factories and coal mines and building railroads. .Some Irish women were chained… Read more »

I notice, that, all over the world, that, non-Whites are flocking into White countries.
So, apparently, they are willing to trade off the..freedom & equality that they have, where ever they come from, for them being oppressed by Whitey,, but drawing a welfare check in the White country of choice.

Guilt would imply I have done something wrong but my conscience is clear. The failures of others who refuse to accept their self induced misery does not cost me any sleep at night. In fact failures are the way they are because they tend to wallow in their failure.

I wonder if the dear professor has examined closely the wonderful advances in life made in Africa where natives held control. How much time has she spent in modern, people of color utopias such as Mogadishu, Djibouti, Pretoria, Libreville, all shining examples of what people can do when they’re not colonised or otherwise held down by the white man.
