American Ingenuity in Rescue of Chilean Miners

Rate this post
On October 13, 2010, the world watched with amazement at the miraculous rescue of 33 miners from the San José copper-gold mine in Copiacó, Chilé. The miners had been trapped 2,300 ft. deep inside the bowels of the mine for more than 2 months.
From the beginning of the mine accident, the government of Chilé, under the impressive leadership of President Sebastián Piñera, took charge of the rescue operation. Contrasts cannot be more striking between Piñera’s and Obama’s belated, unempathic, and ineffectual handling of the BP Gulf oil disaster. (More on this in a future post.) Unlike Obama, who finally acceded to other governments’ offers of help only late into the Gulf disaster, Piñera turned to the world for help at the very beginning.
The miraculous rescue of all 33 miners was a true international multi-government operation. Unmentioned by both the U.S. media and the Obama administration — and therefore little known by the American people — is this: American ingenuity and assistance played an important roleIt is not an exaggeration to say that without American help, the Chilean miners might still be entombed deep within the earth.
Saying that is neither boastful nor prideful; it is simply a statement of fact. One would think that, in our troubled times — of record-high unemployment and pervasive disaffection — our own government would make this known to give the American people a much-needed boost of national pride and confidence. Sadly, the man who pretends to be President does not and will not do that. But he does bow to dictators and apologize and trash America before the world.
It is left to bloggers and e-mailers to inform Americans how their country had helped in the Chilean miners’ rescue.
How America Helped
Here are the American private industries, together with NASA, which were crucial in the rescue operation but are unmentioned and unacknowledged by their supposed President, the fraud in the White House:

  1. Schramm Inc. of West Chester, Pennsylvania built the drills and equipment used to reach the trapped miners.
  2. Drillers Supply International of northwest Houston helped with the plan and the crew to dig a hole that’s safe enough and wide enough to lift the miners to freedom.
  3. Center Rock Company, also from Pennsylvania, built the drill bits used to reach the miners.
  4. UPS, the US shipping company, delivered the 13-ton drilling equipment from Pennsylvania to Chile in less than 48 hours.
  5. Crews from Layne Christensen Company of Wichita, Kansas, and its subsidiary Geotec Boyles Bros. worked the drills and machinery to locate and reach the miners and then enlarge the holes to ultimately rescue them.
  6. Jeff Hart of Denver, Colorado was called off his job drilling water wells for the U.S. Army’s forward operating bases in Afghanistan to lead the drilling crew that reached the miners.
  7. Atlas Copco Construction Mining Company of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, provided consulting on how to make drilling equipment from different sources work together under differing pressure specifications.
  8. Aries Central California Video of Fresno, California, designed the special cameras that were lowered nearly a mile into the ground sending back video of the miners.
  9. Zephyr Technologies of Annapolis, Maryland, made the remote monitors of vital signs that miners were to wear during their ascent.

  10. The Phoenix rescue pod

    NASA engineers
designed the “Phoenix” capsule that miners would be
brought to the surface in, and provided medical consulting, special diets and spandex suits to maintain miners’ blood pressure as they were brought back to the surface.

Oh, and Canadian-based Precision Drilling Corp. and South-African company Murray & Roberts drilled backup rescue shafts in case the American rig failed — which it didn’t.
Fellowship of the Minds applaud the ingenuity and achievements of the above American businesses and individuals. We are proud of you. Well done!

  1. Hats off to all the companies involved in the successful rescue of these miners. I have no doubt that blessings from heaven will be coming their way for their selfless and prompt service, concern and care.
What is amazing to me is, that, Obama has not used this opportunity to take credit for himself. After all, he IS a narcissistic liar.

    • Thanks, Margaret. I added your company to the post:
Drillers Supply International of northwest Houston helped with the plan and the crew to dig a hole that’s safe enough and wide enough to lift the miners to freedom.

We are very impressed with this website and the info herein. Very patriotic.
We are looking for sponsors to bring a rescued Chilean miner and his chaplain to Milwaukee to speak at a Prayer Breakfast.
