This is NOT a joke. If you were able to pass these three tests, you can cancel your annual visit to your neurologist. Your brain is great and you’re far from having a close relationship with Mr Alzheimer.

This is weird, but interesting! Can you raed this? Olny 55 plepoe out of 100 can.

I cdnuolt blveiee that I cluod aulaclty uesdnatnrd what I was rdanieg. The phaonmneal pweor of the hmuan mnid, aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it dseno’t mtaetr in what oerdr the ltteres in a word are, the olny iproamtnt tihng is that the frsit and last ltteer be in the rghit pclae. The rset can be a taotl mses and you can still raed it whotuit a pboerlm. This is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the word as a wlohe. Azanmig huh? 1. Hubby recently went to a lecture on the misdiagnosis of Alzheimers. He had worried about the existence of it in his father’s family for years. He came home feeling very relieved. The specialist who spoke said that the disease is not Alzheimers if it strikes a person over the age of seventy. That is nothing more than senile dementia. Alzheimers occurs in people younger than seventy. He gave a simple test which my husband is now using on many of his geriatric patients. You are OK if you are able to name 15 animals in a relatively short amount of time. Sounds easy, but some of our patients could only name a few without stopping.
P.S. I guess that I’m OK–passed y’all’s test and the animal test!! Now, what day is today…

  2. Steve–you get one minute. Any animal. If you cannot name 10 animals in 60 seconds, hubby says you are in trouble. One note on the above test—I seriously doubt I could pass it in my bifocsl contacts. Just happened to be wearing glasses when I took it. Vision could play a big role.

  3. Passed the test wityh flyiing colors, so I can’t be in too bad a shape. As for reading text that is jumbled, yeah I can read it…..but do I want that kind of chaos???? NO!!!

  4. Dave from Atlanta

Finding the odd character was a little challenging but I did it. Now the reading, that was really interesting. At first I wanted to try to decipher each word, but as soon as I stopped trying I found that I could breeze through it easily.

  5. Finally, a sentence I could read easily. The joys of being dyslexic. 😉 That was fun, and so was the animal test. Fascinating. 😀

  6. What does it mean when you found the “N” in the first one?

  7. ok, passed as well. good thing!
