Actress Catherine Zeta-Jones is sick of being humble about being rich and beautiful

At 2018 Golden Globes Award, Zeta-Jones wore black to protest against Hollywood sex abuse of women

Is it any wonder why more and more Americans don’t go to movies any more?
In an interview with the UK Mirror, actress Catherine Zeta-Jones says she’s sick of being humble about her beauty, her husband Michael Douglas, and her £200 million fortune:

“One thing I’m not is humble any more. I’m sick of being humble. I really am. ‘So sorry I’m rich, so sorry I’m married to a movie star, so sorry I’m not so bad looking.’ No sorrys. Enough!
All that is important to me now is my work. That’s what I love and the rest of my life is a joy because I’ve got two beautiful kids and a healthy, happy husband. It’s all good, and I’m not going to be humble for that either….
If you were a sports star and won an award you would go, ‘Shit yeah, that was the best work I’ve ever done, I rocked!’ Whereas actors are like, ‘Oh I’m so sorry and thanks, can I say thanks?’”

But Mirror points out that Zeta-Jones had never been humble:

She famously said a million pounds wasn’t a lot of money and boasted of collecting houses like other people collect art.

Zeta-Jones has sunken so low that she is reduced to acting in a Facebook video series, the 10-episode Queen America, which will be streamed on Facebook’s new video platform Facebook Watch.

  1. Screw these Hollyweirds! Who cares?

  2. Fame and fortune are only temporary but stupid is forever.

  3. Cathy Zitty who???

  4. Dear Hollywood, the only reason you exist is for my entertainment and I’m not laughing.

  5. She’s now acting on a Facebook vid series? According to her QVC line, she’s a “celebrated actress.” LOL…

  6. Ms. Zeta-Jones, May I remind you that beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder. The picture of you shown, partially dressed in all black for the Golden Globe Awards for 2018, is, in my opinion, portrays you as very unattractive. I won’t say ugly, but it is definitely on the verge thereof. Sadly, you do not realize that the only important issue is not your wealth, fame or a collection of houses, it is where you will spend eternity. I pray you figure this out before it is to late.

Hollywood died in the mid 70s. There are no stars today, only celebrities. All of them are not the kind of people you’d want in your home, well perhaps a few of them. Most are crazy and unstable, and we have ample evidence of that.

  8. Satan hates humility.

  9. When I was much younger I used to worry about things like that. I used to ask why some people have it all, beauty, fame and fortune etc. After living 86 years it doesn’t bother me anymore. I think about one of Jesus’ parables. It all belongs to God. We are just stewards of the things that we have been given. The beautiful Ms. Zeta-Jones is the one who will have to account for what she has done with the gifts that she has been entrusted with not I. I will have to account for the gifts that I have been given. In our own special way we have all been given unique gifts from God. Let us pray that we handle our talents wisely because someday God will expect a return on his investments.

  10. Among the evils of Hollywood, it would seem to me that Catherine Zeta-Jones is among the lesser of them. Yes, she is one of the world’s most beautiful women, and she says she is happy in her situation.
I agree with Zeta-Jones in this sense: She has accomplished certain things, and these accomplishments are things to be proud of. After all, I drive people around for a living: I am a professional driver. I have received thousands of compliments over the years for a number of things, and I am a very safe and defensive driver who has never caused a collision. I am also very well-read and articulate. Certainly I have my faults, but I have my strong points, also, and these are not things I hide under the lampstand. If someone is good at what they do, and those things contribute to society, everyone should know about it.

  11. At 48-going-on-49, I guess she just wants to “let it all hang out” (figuratively with her proud “accomplishments,” & literally in the shiny black dress).
Facebook movies, hmm, not sounding too glamorous. Will Zuckerwood be the new Hollywood for middle-aged “starlets”?
She was cute as a button in the lower right “before” photo, with an “All American Girl Next Door” look. I liked her hair in that same photo as well. I wonder if she perms to get the later “do” or is her hair naturally curly(?) The part in the middle does not look that great on her.
She & hubbie were born on the same date, 9/25, & 25 years apart (1944-1969). He will be 74 & she 49 this Sept. She says he’s healthy so I wondered about his “oral” cancer Dx’d in 2010. Evidently, oral-due-to-HPV-cancer is easier to get rid of than other oral cancers, so as of a 9/2017 article, it said he was still cancer free seven years later. Michael said he originally thought the cancer was from the stress of his son being sent to prison for 10 years for heroin possession/trafficking. The kid was let out early in 2016 after almost seven years, but in Spring 2017 he broke probation by having pot in his possession. Not sure if he was sent back to prison for that. The negatives of life do not escape celebs & their wealth.
Wiki says Michael, a Dem of course, now considers himself a “Reform Jew,” though he was not raised with religion (neither by Jewish dad Kirk nor his Anglican mother).

  12. If she got it, she got it, there is no need to apologize that she has it….

    • There’s a difference between pride and humility.
Prideful of one’s looks (bought by plastic surgeons) and riches (obtained by working in a shallow industry) doesn’t make one “got it.”
Unless you live your life by Hollyweird’s standards.
Yet if you are a sports star (Tebow) who kneels to give thanks to God for your blessings you are shunned.
Girl has no need to apologize. We know exactly what she “has.”

  13. I believe I’ve just Wasted 15 minutes of my Life reading this missive..!!

  14. Best difference I can tell from comparing the two pictures of Her before & after plastic surgery, – is that she now looks much older, and she’s had that man’s paw removed from her right shoulder..!!

There, all fixed. You’re welcome former famous person

    • Yep. Next headline will have to do with how she’s campaigning against female “objectification” because she realizes she’s no longer the object of anyone’s admiration.

  16. What do you expect from a bipolar?

  17. She says she is against sexual abuse of women and then dresses like a two bit whore on a Saturday night. All the money she spent on all that surgery was a great waste. Too bad she can’t accept natural aging, It is much prettier.

  18. Karena Crawford

Beauty is subjective so her the jury is out as fa as Catherine’s looks go. She used to be pretty but she looks Haggard now. How does she stay happy being married to a serial philanderer? If she was as content as she would like us to believe, what was the hospitalization visits for her bi-polar breakdowns? She’s over the hill in Hollywood and that’s why she’s been reduced to acting roles for Lifetime and now Facebook.
I may never see a million dollars or ever know what it’s like to be rich. But I’m blessed with peace of mine, and I can sleep well at night knowing that I didn’t have to step on or backstab anyone to get to where I am which is all Hollywood is about. Catherine, for all of her riches should know that this life isn’t forever, and that she can’t take her black Amex card to the afterlife.

  19. madTV knew how to humble these overbearing celebs

  20. I’m fine with her being rich, but pretending to be beautiful? No, never, not even when she was young.

  21. leeann Springer

Judging beauty from a physical standpoint, she is not beautiful. She is average at best. Real beauty is the late Audrey Hepburn, and women like Ann Margaret, Raquel Welch, Lena Horne, and the late Grace Kelly. I’ve seen Zeta-Jones without her makeup, (she has skin issues) and she is average and that’s it. Nothing to write home to momma about, as the saying goes. Leeann

  22. Well, she’s aging fast…and plastic surgery is so obvious (meow). Guess she has to brag about something.
My grandfather (of Scotch-Irish and French descent) always said:
“Love to brag, love to boast; grief comes to him who brags the most.”

  23. She might be loaded, but I wouldn’t say she is beautiful.

it really is sad they think we all suffer with short-term memory loss…let me state for the (imaginary) record that i am not a hollyweird groupie nor have i ever been, however when their idiocy makes the news enough a person tends to pick up and subsequently retain a few portions of the idiocy over the years. i recall not so long ago, perhaps not even a full decade, she was in pretty bad shape due to her husbands throat cancer and how sick he really was – i am grateful he appears to have beat the cancer, btw – but we were inundated with all of her bipolar disorder drama & she was uncomfortably open (TMI) about it with any tabloid smear-rag who would stick a microphone under her nose.
she never amounted to much as far as an acting career goes and there are plenty of women in her age range who are still being cast in movies.
after coloring herself as a loon, she might want to order up some humble pie or crow – a whopping “facebook watch” series doesn’t sound too glam to me – but what do i know, i’m just a regular person.

It almost makes me ashamed of being Welsh…almost.
