  1. Made me cry. Every March, I go to L.A., for Tolkien Reading Day. One of the days I’m there, my friends take me to the beach for a barefoot walk in the surf. This is as close as I’m going to be with having to cancel my trip because of the layoff. Thanks for sharing, so I could be there virtually.

  5. Thanks Candance, brought back pleasant memories, I grew up in Chesapeake, very close to Virginia Beach and I spent many summers there and I cruised Atlantic and Pacific Avenues as a teenager. I know it has changed a lot since those days, but some things never change.

    I lived in Virginia Beach for 3 months in the late 1960s. Unfortunately, it was during the stormy season of late autumn so I didn’t spend much time on the beach. This little interlude makes me realize how much I missed!
