A message from FOTM's Wild Bill Alaska

Two weeks ago, I did a post asking readers of our Fellowship of the Minds to pray for a fellow reader and commenter, Wild Bill Alaska, who has terminal cancer.
Since then, many kind readers have offered alternate-medicine suggestions for combating cancer, both in comments to the post and in email.
Bill sends us all this message:

To all my family at Fellowship of the Minds,

I want to thank you for your prayers and well wishes. I will sorely miss you all, but the lord and I will be watching over you from the other side and waiting for your arrival there. Please know that I am still relatively pain free and what pain I do feel is bearable with the help of my Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ. My mental state is the same as before in that I feel no apprehension nor anxiety regarding my approaching departure from this earthly plane. (ok, just a little). But overall my faith in the Lord and his promise to  dwell in the house of the lord forever (Psalm 23) is what makes this coming transition  a thing of beauty and wonder and less something to be feared.

Since I, most likely, will be elsewhere for the 2016 presidential elections I would like to take this  opportunity to share my thoughts on my choice for the next president of our great Republic.

Col. Allen West, former Congressman (R-Fl)

A well educated veteran, patriot, Christian man who truly loves the country he has well served with honor and a quiet dignity. Colonel (ret. US ARMY) Allen West is a man whose career I have followed since he entered politics. This man was always my first choice for president should he decide to run. Now that my wish for his candidacy is quite possibly a reality, I have been diagnosed with terminal cancer and will not survive until the 2016 elections. I have made my peace with my Lord Jesus and am prepared to happily go home to him and our father on my passing. My one regret is not being able to cast my vote for this man who I believe can heal our nation and return us to the times when we all stood together as a united people proud to be called Americans. Perhaps one of you reading this will take pity on me and borrow a page out of the liberal/democrat hand book in the 2016 elections and cast a vote for Colonel West in the stead of this proud, but dead conservative.

Liberty in tearsPlease continue to pray for Bill.
I believe in prayers.
I believe in answered prayers.
And I believe that prayers can move mountains . . . .

  1. Praying. Wild Bill, my prayers are being said for you. The Lord who we love listens to us, and has a plan.

  2. I’m still praying for you!

  3. Prayers for Bill…. thanks for sharing this with us.

  4. What a wonderful testimony by Bill. You know, I had cancer myself. My church carried me in prayer. I understood that God heals. I have faith. But it was my church that carried me in prayer whereby I was healed of cancer. My daughter-in-law’s pastor’s wife in a Baptist church got cancer. The pastor gathered the church to pray and lay hands on her. They are not particularly charismatic or anything. Just believe in the prayer of God’s people. Her cancer was gone within 2 weeks by the hand of God. The power of community praying in agreement for healing CANNOT be underestimated… because it is the power of God. Amen.

  5. Thank you for an update. I have thought of Bill so often over the last couple of weeks. I am content to know he has found peace and will be missed, for he is a much needed warrior. His Presidential selection is first class.
    Take care Bill, and know your troops are praying for you.

  6. What an absolutly wonderful man!! May God’s peace remain in him and with him. My prayers go with him too.

  7. Friends: Along w/Eo
    I believe in prayers;
    I believe in answered prayers;
    And I believe that prayers can move mountains.
    Laura’s testimony moved me to a few quiet, happy tears for her faith-filled victory. Only those of us who have been allowed to either return or not depart this life can fully understand what this means, and why we must use our renewed life’s time to help others, however we can.
    As children, and later as young adults, few of us grasp this, and then only if they have been to the edge, and come back. If we lose friends when we are young, it sobers us and starts to make our living more real, more affirmative. At any rate, this was my experience.

  8. Thank you for the update and encouraging us to not only vote, but to vote for a quality candidate who could possibly turn this country around. That said, I believe in prayer and I believe in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and his precious hands of healing. One special sentiment I have for you is that not everyone knows when their time is coming. Our good Lord has given you a glimpse and you have readied yourself. It’s quite possible Our Lord will give you more time to help change the lives of so many. I pray for you and when your time comes, I will shed a tear for you in sadness that you will no longer post, but, also in rejoicing that you are with our Heavenly Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit….I hope to meet up with you one day in heaven and shake your hand.

  9. Prayers for you Bill. And if West is running, I will definitely vote for him!

  10. I am still praying, and Bill I know what page you’re talking about. Consider it done. Wink wink. X 2 🙂

  11. My prayer was just sent up to our Commander In Chief. My dad died of cancer and I have been fortunate enough to live longer than he did.
    I usually don’t speak of this, due to so many internet Trolls and idiots who like to criticize and condemn, but this is something I feel I need to share with each of you, especially seeing as we are asking the Great Father for a favor.
    I had a near death experience, one night while sleeping. It happened probably 6 or more years ago and it’s still as fresh in my mind as it was that night. No dream. Reality, friends.
    I was sleeping, when suddenly I “heard” myself let out my last breath. Then, just as suddenly I was surrounded in perfect darkness. Or, my consciousness was anyway. I was fully AWARE and thinking & “seeing”. But, I was feeling something too. Love… joy… happiness & contentment. It’s impossible to describe it well enough for you to fully comprehend what I was feeling. I felt the love coming from “above”. I looked up and saw the most beautiful, purest white light you can begin to imagine. As soon as I saw that light, I started to rise toward it. The closer I got, the more the feelings of love, joy, happiness increased! The feelings were so overwhelming and so strong that my body suddenly gasped, took in air and I sat straight up in bed, wide awake and fully aware of what had just happened. I was STILL FILLED WITH THE FEELINGS OF A PERFECT LOVE!!! I still remembered everything as clear as day!
    Friends, we don’t remember dreams, at least as fully as I remember this experience. I tell you this with my heart and in all honesty. I fully believe that God gave me a gift. A gift to know what was to come in the next life or when we are finally with the Great Father and His Awesome Son, Jesus.
    Why am I sharing this? Because, the power of prayer IS strong. God DOES listen.
    So, with that said, I want you all to know that we should pray for this fine friend and also pray that we can get Co. West into office. If the United States is to survive, we must all pray and do what we are able to accomplish this. Pray, friends. PRAY with your heart!

  12. Thank You for your courage, Wild Bill. I like Allen West personally and believe he would be a good choice. First, however, we have to pray for the survival of America’s sovereignty, given not only the New World Order, but the prophecy of Revelation.
    God knows all things, including the future, and your serenity shines through. I will be praying for you and other people stricken with cancer, and the crises we’re all going through (as a nation and personally) are finite in duration. Eternity is not. God Bless you and your family.

  13. Wild Bill – you are in my prayers, intensely. I have always appreciated your comments – and your support of Allen West is also my thoughts and wishes for this country. I am adding you to my church prayer list.
    Jesus is so wonderful, and I can tell you long to be with Him in eternity. If it is the Lord’s will, you can be healed, and if He wants you with Him, that is how it will be. Praise His holy name!
    Psalm 103:1-3
    103 Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless His holy name.
    2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits:
    3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;

  14. For this you have Jesus! Praise his Holy Name!

  15. God Bless you, Wild Bill. When the time comes, may flights of Angels send you to your rest. Until then, know that all round the world, you are loved and respected. See you in paradise, Sir.

  16. Praying for you beloved brother.

  17. Wild Bill is too ornery to die.
    Prayers, my friend.

  18. Wild Bill, praying for you, that you will be healed, but mostly that you will CONTINUE to find grace in the eyes of our Lord….no matter the journey that lies ahead of you.

  19. Bill, sending you love and heart hugs. May Our Lord carry you through your journey, until you meet Him.

  20. Precious Wild Bill! Prayers are ascending for you, dear friend. I believe in miracles for our family was given two in one year, many years ago. Our youngest son’s fiancé was given two weeks to live, non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, and another of our sons was literally dying (we got a call telling us to come to CA right away to say our goodbyes). The young lady lived to marry our son and give us four beautiful grandchildren. The young man lived to become our Beloved Physician and daddy. Yes, miracles do happen! I thank God every day for these precious people. And I thank God for YOU, dear Bill. Please, please keep believing in miracles, and we will, too.
    Dr. Eowyn, thanks so very much for keeping us posted, too!

  21. Beloved Wild Bill—we are with you, now & when your need is most. Call upon us, please, for renewed strenghth for whatever your task/need is of the moment. Thank you for sharing your most intimate needs and personal thoughts. This is what connects us.
    As for Mr. West: Be assured from at least one—-I’ve been WAITING to cast my vote for him since one of the first times I observed him on a network TV station. What a level-headed, morally-based, standards’-driven individual!!!! Salt of the Earth, as the old saying goes! I TRUST him. Isn’t that what we’ve ALL been missing in our governance: TRUST??????? AND…if you don’t have THAT…do you really, on balance…have a “government” as laid out in our Constitution? Thank you for your continued contribution to our personal dealings with political thoughts/contemplations. I pray for your personal comfort &that your wishes for us/the USA are realized. We will do “our part” to soldier on…just like YOU!!!! Don’t quit…..keep on keeping on…..(and keep on sharing your wisdom with us) .one step at a time—forward!
