A Congress of Wimps

60% of Congress Not Holding Town Halls

Submitted by No Labels Blogger on August 22, 2011
Is your representative holding a public town hall meeting this August recess? No Labels called every office, and only 40% are scheduling open town hall meetings. It’s a sad sign of the state of affairs when our elected officials don’t have time to meet with their constituents.
No Labels activists spoke to all 430 current members of the House of Representatives to find that only 176* of them scheduled meetings. The results of the phone survey also reveal that members of both parties share the blame, with about 67% of Democrats and 50% of Republicans stating they had no town hall meetings scheduled for the recess period.

This has to be the most spineless and impotent congress in this nation’s history.
They just sit there, like frogs on a log and watch, while Obama drives us over the cliff.

What does it matter? Congress is irrelevant. We live under a dictatorship in all but actual name. They’re simply biding their time, hoping we won’t notice.

He has been well versed on energy costs and employment problems. He is a conservative Christian. Congress is a mess. The administration is a travesty but if we had more men like Dr. Harris we might have a chance. He is… Read more »

A townhall meeting is a waste of time. If we can’t get any representative to look into the eligibility issue surrounding the Usurper how are we going to force them to defend themselves? They don’t have to because we will vote for them anyway, I would bet the farm that just about everyone here will vote for a party sanctioned candidate. So much for change. We are doomed.

My point was made the post before. People will defend their representative like a pitbull when they are as corrupt as anyone else out there. We have blinders on. We must rid this nation of every single career politician and make public service an honor and a duty and not a job classification. Put term limits on every single office. Let no one serve more than one term period per office. That will get you change.
