75% of Americans disagree with Bernie Sanders giving criminals in prison ‘right’ to vote

In a CNN town hall meeting on April 23, the socialist senator from Vermont and 2020 presidential aspirant Bernie Sanders said:

“Yes, even for terrible people because once you start chipping away — you say, ‘That guy committed a terrible crime, we’re not going to let him vote,’ or ‘that person did that,’ you’re running down a slippery slope. So, I believe people who commit crimes, they pay the price and they get out of jail, they certainly should have the right to vote…I believe even if they are in jail, they’re paying the price to society, but that should not take away their inherent American right to participate in our democracy.”

Sanders’ proposal that convicted criminals in prison should have the right to vote was too much even for rabid anti-Trumper Cher.

In a tweet that she since deleted, she wrote: “Does Bernie Sanders Really Believe Ppl In Prison Who Are Murderers⁉️ Rapists⁉️ Child Molesters⁉️ BOSTON BOMBERS.…STILL DESERVE THE RIGHT TO VOTE⁉️”

According to a new Business Insider poll:

  • The vast majority of Americans — roughly 75% — do not support Sen. Bernie Sanders’ proposal to enfranchise all prisoners.
  • 20% said those convicted of non-violent offenses should be allowed to vote.
  • Only 15% of respondents said all prisoners — regardless of their crimes — should keep their voting rights while behind bars.
  • 30% said currently incarcerated people should lose their right to vote, but be re-enfranchised when they’re released.
  • 24% said those convicted of violent felonies should permanently lose voting rights.
  • Approximately 10% of respondents said they “don’t know” how they feel about this issue.
  • Unsurprisingly, the poll found a stark divide in views on this issue along party lines. Nearly half (47%) of likely Democratic primary voters but only 21% of likely Republican primary voters support enfranchising prisoners in some capacity.

Interestingly enough Trump and Commie Bernie shared the same views on the anti-American “Free Trade” treaties signed by Globalist Bushes, & Clinton, Obozo. They also shared the same views on Hillary’s $200,000 speeches for the DemocRats campaign supporters from the crooks at Goldman Sachs. At the time I believe I had counted 20 campaign issues they agreed on, some of it having to do with the “Clean Break” Wars

All candidates of both (yeah, funny) parties are required to toe the zio-globalist line, with very few exceptions and with very little latitude, otherwise they go nowhere. My sense is that Trump “agrees” to, for instance, Clean Break wars because he feels that he has no choice. They were and are a fait accompli anyway

If this man wins, America is in for everything that visited Russia 100 years ago. We must sound the alarm.

Bernie is just a crazy old man. It is really galling to have such a toad sitting in judgement as to how the government should be run. It is not untoward that those who are in prison for breaking the law–whatever that law may be, should not be voting on anything. When they have paid their debt to society–then, they should be able to petition to have their voting rights restored. Why should people who the rest of us are having to pay to keep them corralled and away from society in general get to have any say so in… Read more »

Right to vote??……Some prisoners should feel lucky to receive bread and water.

Sanders must know that ex-cons who get released can apply to be re-registered to vote a year or two after their release, according to their state of residence. So for him to say this just shows how desperate the Democratic Party is. (Even Nancy Pelosi admitted she wants the illegal aliens in to built a larger Democratic bloc!)

Sanders may not realize it, but I can sense his desperation. So can a lot of people.

Bernie is straining to remain relevant, probably as hard as he strains to pee at 3 AM. Cool Uncle Bernie is so 2016, he’s burned through his ideas of how to give our money away and who to give it to. Letting ex-cons vote – who is that going to appeal to other than ex-cons, most of whom aren’t interested in voting anyway. Bernie the Red should be looking at retirement, living out his golden years on the kibbutz

Further sympathizing with Bernie’s relevance issue, what’s an old bolshevik demoncrat to do? Trying to sell a failed economic theory doesn’t get the media attention it used to. If I were his political strategist I’d make these recommendations: Become a “christian”. Announce that you are “gay”. Change your name to Bernie Buttplug (if you do, you might consider dropping the “feel the Bern” schtick. It paints too vivid a picture. Bad optics). Do these things and you’ll get more of the action

What do you know, I’m a “24%”er… violent convicts should not vote, ever.
