When you have no clue about firearms: USA Today writes about “less lethal” weapons used in Santa Fe shooting

usa today

Firearm experts at USA Today…

After the Santa Fe shooting on Friday since it was discovered that the shooter didn’t use an AR-15, USA Today tweeted the following:

Two details set the Santa Fe shooting apart from other recent deadly attacks: explosives and the use of less-lethal weapons. https://usat.ly/2rTfjyA.”

Ten people dead from a .38 revolver and a shotgun. How’s that “less lethal” narrative working for you, USA Today?

Why couldn’t USA Today write about the MULTIPLE ILLEGAL ACTS committed during this shooting with “less lethal” weapons:

  • The shooter committed murder, which is illegal.
  • At 17, the shooter was not allowed to purchase the guns and stole them from his father, which is illegal.
  • The shooter carried guns and ammunition at the school, which is illegal.
  • The shooter was not eligible for a “License to Carry(conceal carry in Texas) and hid his guns, which is illegal.
  • The shooter deployed inoperable explosive devices, which is illegal.

Yet USA Today is going to run with firearms being “less lethal” than others. These people will do and say anything to spin their gun control confiscation narrative.

  2. When the hell is a lethal weapon less lethal? In the hands of a mentally disturbed individual anything is lethal, be it a fork, a car, a gun, his aim is to hurt/kill as many as he wants but, to what degree is he disturbed when he confesses his crime? He was a murderer in the making, forget about his age, he should be dealt as he did to innocent victims. And……..who is behind all these?

    • Progressive gun-haters are just disappointed the shooter didn’t use an AR-15 (not that he killed a bunch of people, mind you).

      • Yeah, “clips”. If the fat kid had one of these he wouldn’t have had to reload and “neck man” would have lost his mind. I have a couple of .38 revolvers. I wonder what the other kids were doing while he reloaded? They say he killed ten and wounded ten. That’s twenty rounds by my math.

I can say that, while there may be more powerful rounds, I wouldn’t want to get hit by a .38. I’m trying to imagine in my mind how this went down. One of the reasons why the cops switched to 9mm semi-autos is the capacity issue.

Even if you’re good, it takes a little while to reload. While you’re doing it you’re a sitting duck. You can’t reload and fire a shot gun either. I guess I’d better quit. If I think about it too much I might come to disbelieve the whole thing.

        • Well, there is a chance he could have hit multiple people with a single round, either from the shotgun or the gun (although I don’t know the penetration/piercing of a 38, and I would suspect a shotgun, while capable of hitting multiple things with a spray, probably won’t go through one person into another unless in extremely close proximity.) but this also strains the credibility of the event, how much “luck” or “skill” would a person need to rack up that kind of kill & hit ratio in such a duration with two firearms, both of which would probably require two hands to aim properly and successfully? Reading can impart information, but unless this kid was doing active training with the firearms in question, how could he possibly get that accurate with the weapons, and especially account for the kickback, among other things? (I would imagine a sawed-off would kick like a mule)

I’m no firearms expert, of course, so I could be wrong, but this certainly stinks of psy-op hokum.

          • With the understanding that I’m just going off the one account of the girl who allegedly was hit in the leg by a ricochet, she said he used the shot gun to blast his way through the door. She indicated that some people tried to block his entrance.

Then she mentions at least one miss, and she implies others. She claims that he left and returned. She said he came back and said something to them and fired some more.

Now an average .38 revolver holds six round. Some of them hold five. I have both types. It isn’t hard to load them, but it takes some time and coordination. In other words, it is harder than just pushing a button to drop a magazine and slapping in a replacement.

Now, I’m leaning toward the whole story being bogus. If what she says is true, I can’t imagine her mentioning a shot gun if he used one. Oddly, in one of the pictures allegedly of his weapons, they show a small automatic, a knife and a flashlight.

Now, the semi-automatic is not a revolver. It is either a .380 or a 9mm. There is no shot gun shown, “sawed off” or otherwise.

Could you shoot ten people? Sure. Could you shoot twenty? Maybe, if they more or less stayed still. Given the twenty total listed, and one missed shot, that’s twenty-one rounds, minimum. That would mean four reloads for a six-shot or five for the five-shot.

Before you ask, I can’t answer why they showed the weapons they did. They are obviously not what is described. The girl claims he was there for half-an-hour. What was he doing? Did he have an address (manifesto) like Piglet? Where were the cops for that half-hour?

As you say, it’s pretty smelly.

  6. When you get hit with a bullet it doesn’t matter what firearm shot it. It’s hard to believe how willing the obviously uninformed are to spew nonsense on demand. I mean turn this around. Are they proposing that we shoot each other with smaller weapons?

There seems to be quite a rush to put stupid in power.

  8. I’d like them to explain to me how either of those guns are ANY LESS LETHAL than,I’m assuming, the AR-15. Even a 22 Long Rifle can kill you JUST as dead. (Some assassins use ’em for closer work-less noise, etc.)

    • Yep, I was going to say the same thing. It’s true that the 5.56mm round has more power, the round is about the same diameter. I wouldn’t want to get shot by a .22.

This is more malarky. What difference does it make whether something is semi-automatic, full-automatic, etc.? Who goes out to buy an ineffective tool? If they come out with a vaporizer weapon I want one. In fact, I like that idea. “Perp, what perp?”

      • Kudos to you for bringing up the venerable .22 LR, as its hollow point was for decades the weapon of choice for CIA’s assassins: small, quiet, and deadly when aimed correctly. I know all-too-well, as it was the round that took out my R leg’s femur in a classic ‘accident’. That it missed the artery is a miracle. Really.

As the CHP says and I know for fact, ‘There are no accidents.’ Period, full stop.

    • It just occurred to me that maybe that’s the point to the two stupid stories about the guy getting shot through the neck and the girl in the leg and walking away. Are they actually that stupid?

I guess if we hear one of them hyping that idea we’ll know that yes, they are.

Isn’t it just the logical next step? ARs are not all they want. It is not enough to demonize one single type of firearm. The idea is to stigmatize all firearms down to instilling fear of the very image of any firearm. If we own any firearm, we are guilty of ……..some thing.

Still debating the power, effectiveness, or lethality of one firearm over another is only succumbing to the faked events, lies, and deceiving narratives, that just don’t hold up under real questioning, or real evidence. Same as debating solutions for these “events” when those really responsible already have their hidden strategy.

  12. A 12 gauge shotgun is the most lethal close range weapon in the world. Liberals know about as much about firearms as the average squirrel. As bad as this sounds, this story is not about a spree killing of high school kids , it’s about ending private firearm ownership in the United States.

  13. You make a very good point. What he allegedly did is already illegal. So, apparently, making something illegal is no guarantee of safety? Lately they’re sending kids home or having them arrested for making “gun gestures” in school. I don’t think we have to be particularly astute to see what this is about.

Of course, as you say, it is about appealing to emotion, not logic. This is designed for the “DO SOMETHING!” crowd. With them the more laws and restrictions we have, the safer we’ll all be. The fact that this is demonstrably untrue doesn’t faze them.

No, just like multiple genders are an article of faith for them, guns are a symbol of all they despise (unless they’re killing and maiming Israel’s enemies of course), then its acceptable.

We are at a crossroad here. The political parasites want an excuse to disarm us. They’ll take anything they think will prevent them from being hunted down in the streets. They’ve been told to make this happen. It is up to us to let them know that it won’t be tolerated.

    • If I recall properly, didn’t the soviets institute “gun control”, about 1929 or so? I seem to also recall something about gulags and stalin absolutely dwarfing hitler when it came to mass murder, particularly of his own countrymen.

There seems to be a volume of evidence indicating that “gun control” is what a nation pulls before it culls the citizens (or has someone do the culling for them.)

      • Seumas, I don’t know about gun control which was passed by them, but one of the first laws passed when the jewish communists gained control over the Soviet government was this act. They did not want anyone to criticize or act against the leadership of the communists, which primarily were jews. You’ll find a treasure trove of information in the link below, which details many of the evils committed by them against the Russian [mostly White at the time] people. This is almost a full history lesson in itself.

        “Anti-Semitism Made A Capital Offense

Interestingly, one of the first acts by the Bolsheviks was to make so‑called “anti‑Semitism” a capital crime. This is confirmed by Stalin himself: “National and racial chauvinism is a vestige of the misanthropic customs characteristic of the period of cannibalism. Anti‑Semitism, as an extreme form of racial chauvinism, is the most dangerous vestige of cannibalism…under USSR law active anti‑Semites are liable to the death penalty.” (Stalin, Collected Works, vol. 13, p. 30).”

[Flanders] And, why do you think that the Soviet jew leaders, which included Lenin who was jewish although that was not known at that time, considered it to be so important to punish “anti-semitism” so severely? Another excerpt from that same report should give you some idea as to the answer to that. Some of the murderous genocides conducted by them are also recounted in the report. This part is in some of the later materials of the report. You’ll then understand what the American people will be facing if things proceed as they currently are.

“According to the data furnished by the Soviet Press, out of 556 important functionaries of the Bolshevik State, including the above‑ mentioned, there were in 1918‑1919, 17 Russians, 2 Ukrainians, 11 Armenians, 35 Letts, 15 Germans, 1 Hungarian, 10 Georgians, 3 Poles, 3 Finns, 1 Czech, 1 Karaim, 457 Jews.”

On pages 136‑138, of the same work, the author writes: “It is in the Central Committee of the Bolshevik Party that the government power resides. It was composed as follows in 1918: Bronstein (Trotzky), Apfelbaum (Zinovief), Lourie (Larine), Ouritski, Volodarski, Rosenfeldt (Kamenef), Smidovitch, Sverdlof (Yankel), Nakhamkes (Steklof). The other Russian Socialist Parties are similar in composition. Their Central Committees are made up as follows: S.D. Menskeviks, 11 members, all Jews; Communists of the People, 6 members, of whom 5 are Jews and one is a Russian; S.R. (Right‑Wing), 15 members, of whom 13 are Jews and 2 are Russians (Kerenski, who may be of Jewish origin, and Tchaikovski); S.R. (Right‑Wing), 12 members of whom 10 are Jews and 2 are Russians; Committee of the Anarchists of Moscow, 5 members, of whom 4 are Jews and one is a Russian; Polish Communist Party, 12 members of all Jews, including Sobelson (Radek), Krokhenal (Zagonski) and Schwartz (Goltz). These parties, in appearance opposed to the Bolsheviks, play the Bolsheviks’ game on the sly, more or less, by preventing the Russians from pulling themselves together. Out of 62 individuals at the head of these parties, there are 6 Russians and 55 Jews. No matter what may be the name adopted, a revolutionary government will be Jewish.”

    • Lophat, All the media wants to do is report what the gun control forces want them to.

It’s my understanding that the Santa Fe schools could have had armed personnel if they chose to have them at the time that this happened. Texas calls it the Marshall Program. That particular school, could have had 7 teachers armed with weapons to stop any intruder or problem-makers according to one report I read. The report below has some information on it, but I understand there are 2 programs and that both are administered by the Texas School Safety Center – TxSSC, to the schools who apply.

I also understand that some or many schools in Texas didn’t even know about it because it hasn’t been as widely reported about by media as the gun control issues have been. It makes you wonder about the press’ real agendas.

I have read that this particular school did know about it and was in the “preliminary” process, but I don’t know for how long, or what the holdup may have been.

I also have the PDF link to an Attorney Generals opinion on the laws about it, if someone were to need or want it.

  15. Even hands are lethal if a person knows how to use ’em, after all, they just aren’t ranged… that’s one of the premises in martial arts, you don’t need a weapon to whack a person, hands are sufficient.

I suggest all folks here get some training for martial arts, after all a firearm is only really effective as long as it has ammo.

  16. Well, this may be a possible explanation for why he was there thirty minutes and how so many were alleged wounded and killed:

Looks like the cops were engaged in a “gun fight” with him. Funny they didn’t mention that, no? They think they may have cause some of the casualties. I guess if the teachers were armed at least they’d know what they were shooting at.

  18. What struck me as giving that GLP comment more credibility is that I recently was researching some leftist connections in the “Sustainability Science” community and one name is related to the higher levels of that, and also to Galveston and to the natural gas and oil shale industries. He is also of Greek derivation. I can’t find my original material on George P Mitchell and Mitchell Energy & Development Corporation, but that source I previously had connected him to Microsoft’s founder and to many other leftist foundations. Here is another link about him, although he has now died.

“Mitchell, the son of a Greek goatherd who immigrated to Arkansas, would eventually become the company’s CEO and guiding light. Mitchell’s family gained an American name after a railroad timekeeper who couldn’t pronounce Savva Paraskivopoulis decided to call his father Mike Mitchell. Born in Galveston in 1919, the younger Mitchell worked his way through Texas A & M University’s renowned petroleum engineering school. Despite his lack of experience, he got work as a consulting geologist, taking a small fee and a percentage of any oil found.”

  19. There are more who don’t think it happened, at least as it has been portrayed by MSM to have happened. At least some of what is said by individuals seems to have a reasonable basis in some specific instances for them to hold that belief. That there is in fact an anti-gun, anti-Second Amendment push to disarm Americans should be obvious to all by now. It should be obvious, too, that by the time the inconsistencies are discovered the anti-gunners have moved on to the next fishy “occurrence”, with new parroted stories.
