DHS reveals number of MS-13 and other gang members released by demorat sanctuary policies

From Daily Mail: The Department of Homeland Security says that so-called sanctuary states shielded dozens of alleged MS-13 gang members from deportation during an eight-month period between 2016 and 2017.

The findings were provided to the Senate Judiciary Committee by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) – the federal agency responsible for deporting undocumented migrants illegal aliens.

According to ICE, two-thirds of the 142 suspected gang members that ICE wanted to deport were released in California.

The data was reported by the anti-immigrant (no bias there, Daily Mail) think tank Center for Immigration Studies.

California has a sanctuary policy that is considered one of the most progressive in the country. Sanctuary policies are local guidelines in which state and local authorities limit their cooperation with the federal government in enforcing immigration laws.

ICE says that the releases of the alleged MS-13 gang members took place in 37 local jurisdictions across 13 states. The most releases of alleged gang members – 22 – took place in Santa Clara County, California.

San Diego County leaders voted on Tuesday to join the Trump administration’s court challenge to California’s sanctuary law, amid a conservative backlash to the so-called sanctuary movement.

California moved to the forefront of political opposition to Republican President Donald Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigration with enactment last year of the first statewide law aimed at restricting local law enforcement participation in federal deportation activity.

The measure bars state and local authorities from keeping undocumented immigrants illegal aliens who are incarcerated locked up any longer than otherwise necessary for the purpose of allowing US immigration agents to take them into custody.

It also prohibits police from routinely inquiring about the immigration status of people detained in an investigation or in traffic stops.

But the law, known as SB-54, allows local police to notify the federal government if they have arrested an undocumented immigrant illegal aliens with a felony record and permits immigration agents access to local jails.

The Trump administration has harshly criticized California’s law and similar sanctuary ordinances adopted by local governments across the country, saying they threaten public safety by protecting criminals who should to be deported.

Of the 37 jurisdictions that allegedly released MS 13 gang members, all but one of them – Maricopa County, Arizona – are sanctuary localities.

Authorities in Maryland have had to deal with the largest number of suspected MS 13 figures. ICE figures show that Montgomery County released five MS-13 members while Prince George’s County released four.

Between 2012 and 2018, 84 alleged MS-13 members were arrested for gang-related activity.

    • Thank you for the NBC news link to the story detailing the MS 13 threat (or perhaps “plan” is a better word) to target and kill police Stovepipe. This is just another piece of evidence that we are coming to a point as a nation where all we hold dear and all we believe in as a free people is under attack.

There is a convergence of assaults on our liberty and our way of life that is growing and becoming ever stronger by the day. This week, a 32-year-old eight-year veteran police officer in Massachusetts was murdered as he attempted to serve a warrant. The officer’s K-9 dog was also shot, but survives. Just a couple of days ago, two police officers were shot and killed as they sat eating lunch in a Chinese restaurant.

But this is just one aspect. Municipal and state governments create so-called “sanctuaries” that harbor tens of thousands of illegal criminal aliens in violation of federal immigration laws. The result is that our borders are a sieve that allows criminal gangs, drug smugglers, and others to just simply walk over the border and set up shop.

Our right to defend ourselves against criminals with our lawfully held firearms is under a brutal and sustained attack that has, as its purpose, the total disarming of the civilian populace.

Our religion is ridiculed daily in the media, and our freedom to speak is rapidly being abridged by ordinances and even laws that have made some politically incorrect speech a crime.

I don’t believe for a moment that this convergence is random. It is the product of decades of left–wing progressive changes that, little by little, will lead to a society in which none of us will be free, where the only speech that will be permitted is that which is “politically correct.”

Just remember, the term “politically correct” was coined by Leon Trotsky.

    • Stovepipe . . . . Thank you so much for posting this link. It made me heartsick, and horribly angry . . . . send in the flippin National Guard! Restore law and order to the streets of our nation.

Any one holding a government position in this entire United States, who willingly goes along with “Sanctuary statutes,” when this kind of a menace to the peace and safety of the peoples of this country . . . needs to be sent to prison for treason against this country.

At least we are seeing some localities in California, that are throwing off the yolk of Jerry Brown’s regime and they are joining the current Federal law suit against this state. It is as it should be. Round up the government officials who oppose the rule of law in this land.

This was Obama’s plan when he visited Mexico and Central America – for them to empty out their prisons and mix them in with the migrants – no vetting by Obama. So here we are.

  6. When the government puts its own citizens in harms way someone should be charging them with treason for not up holding the Constitution and need to be held accountable for their actions. When they kill someones child with drugs or any way at all then the Joe citizen is going to get tired of it and take the law into their own hands and do something. I know I would irregardless of the consequences the city government shields them I would find a way and take out the vermin that killed my child.

    • Brian . . . . No doubt people do reach a boiling point when they see that the government that they pay for with their taxes are doing NOTHING to protect their families or their property.

  7. It should be abundantly clear by now that they don’t work for us. It should also be apparent that they are trying to curry favor with their REAL bosses. No one wants this unless they’re stupid or crazy.

They have their orders. They were hired to follow The Plan. We can either observe them doing their owner’s work, or we can call them on it. I still think they should be chased through the streets.

  8. Given Democratic policies and practices across America since LBJ became President, the Party and its elected officials should be investigated for racketeering in all 50 states and D.C., and should, if at all possible, be prosecuted under the RICO Statutes. This is a problem that cannot be blamed on labor unions or almost anyone else, as far as I can tell at this point.
