NBC/MSNBC reporter asks Chelsea Clinton about her dad’s sexual misconduct accusers

Yeah, riiiiiiiight.

From Fox News: First daughter Ivanka Trump scolded NBC and MSNBC reporter Peter Alexander for what she considered an inappropriate question about her father’s sexual misconduct accusers during an interview from South Korea on Monday.

The first daughter sat down with Alexander who, after a voice-over explaining that President Trump has denied accusations of sexual misconduct, asked, “Do you believe your father’s accusers?”

“I think it’s a pretty inappropriate question to ask a daughter if she believes the accusers of her father when he’s affirmatively stated that there’s no truth to it. I don’t think that’s a question you would ask many other daughters,” Ivanka fired back. “I believe my father, I know my father.”

Some pro-Trump viewers took to Twitter to defend the first daughter. One viewer tweeted, “Why even ask Ivanka Trump about the allegations of sexual misconduct against her Dad? What did Peter Alexander think she was going to say?”

Another viewer said, “The question was both crude and rude,” while many others pondered whether or not reporters would ask Chelsea Clinton a similar question about her father.

“Ivanka answered the very inflammatory & inappropriate questions from NBC perfectly,” a viewer tweeted. “Does NBC wonder why the public dislikes them so much?

Trump has denied accusations of different forms of sexual misconduct that have been levied against him.

Some media members defended Alexander, such as CNN’s Jake Tapper, who said Ivanka “works for the taxpayers” and he’s “trying to figure out what part of this is inappropriate.”

Washington Post’s Phillip Rucker, who is Alexander’s colleague as an MNSBC and NBC News analyst, wrote that it’s “not an inappropriate question” because “Ivanka Trump has chosen to work in the House as a staffer and presidential adviser.”

While many defended Alexander’s question because the first daughter also works for her father’s administration, some industry insiders have wondered if NBC is hypocritical when it comes to sexual misconduct.

NBC News Chairman Andy Lack also oversees MSNBC and Alexander frequently appears on both networks. Last year, Lack was forced to fire “Today” star Matt Lauer because of sexual misconduct allegations at the height of the #MeToo movement. Lack has not been transparent about the events that led up to the sudden firing of his close friend as parent company Comcast has said its top HR executives are investigating who knew what about Lauer’s behavior during his long reign at NBC.

There is no public information about the investigation into its news division, which is apparently still underway three months after Lauer was shown the door. Meanwhile, Lack has yet to give a cogent explanation for why NBC News spiked Ronan Farrow’s explosive reporting on Harvey Weinstein, which Farrow eventually took to the prestigious New Yorker magazine and is now receiving Pulitzer buzz for helping expose the disgraced Hollywood mogul as a sexual predator. A Vanity Fair feature tied the Weinstein and Lauer scandals together, quoting a former employee who said, “They were sitting in a glass house and they knew it.”

NBCUniversal told Fox News on Monday that the internal investigation is “ongoing” and involves top legal and human resources executives from the company.

  1. Reblogged this on On the Patio and commented:

The MSM continues its quest to be “newsworthy” they just seem to not get it every time they try and pull a fast one and goad people into a “newsworthy ” response. They just display the exact reason no one pays attention to them! And you will also note that the only supporters of them, when they are called out, are their own inner circle of goombahs. Nice! Keep up the good work!

  2. Oh the tangled web we weave when you cover sin with more sin and soon your so deep you can’t remember the lies you told or who you told it to. Talk about a moral mangled compass.

  4. Wait for the next shoe to drop… on Peter Alexander.
As for Jake Taper, I used to consider him a decent reporter, back when he was on the network news covering Bush2 & Obama. Then he flew the coup and went to work for that communist news network and found them directing his every move.

BTW, for those not keeping count, another “who’s that?” reporter, young and attractive, got named as the head anchor for a Sunday Morning network news show — this time, Face the Nation, from which John Dickerson (who, again, had been semi-respectable until taking that spot and becoming beholden to them) recently got canned so he could take Charlie Rose’s spot on CBS’ This Morning. Because of Charlie’s whole sex scandal thing…

AND, I would think, because Dickerson just wasn’t getting “tough enuf” with Republican and conservative guests to FTN. He TRIED; it just didn’t fit him.

The replacement? Not a long-termer who had done his or her time “in the trenches” to earn the spot. Nope, rather, they went with young & pretty Margaret Brennan, whom I can’t recall seeing on the network news more than a year or two ago (same as the other current crop of young & attractive, although questionably-female, reporters on the network news). You know the ones, they SCREECH at Trump and his administration every chance they get. Her husband, Ali Iyad “Yabo” Yakub, an Arab-American, is a JAG for the USMC.

And oh, BTW, Maggie promises to bring back civility to the genre. As in, less politicizing and bias. Right, we’ll see how long that (or she) lasts.

  5. Clearly, these media outlets couldn’t care less about honesty or fairness. They are paid to work an agenda. I don’t watch TV. My wife has it on and I can over hear it sometimes. It amazes me that they can go 24/7 bashing Trump. I’ve never seen anything like it.

That is so utterly bizarre on the surface of things that I’m amazed it still continues. They are paying all of these overpaid propagandists to read lying copy all day and night. They set each other up for volleys of lies. And we’re supposed to act like we take this to be serious news?

Then, after one of these shooting frauds, they act all incensed that we would question their “integrity”. What a hoot. What “integrity”? It is a government lying machine run by the people who own “our” government.
