Adios: ICE sweep leads to over 200 arrests – many convicted criminals – in L.A.

From Fox News: Federal deportation officers staged a massive enforcement action  against businesses in Los Angeles this week, arresting 212 people and serving audit notices to 122 businesses that must prove they aren’t hiring illegals, according to a report on Friday in The Washington Times.

The paper said that nearly all of those arrested were convicted criminals, according to  Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The paper said ICE targeted Los Angeles because it’s a sanctuary city, which means it won’t fully cooperate with federal authorities on deportations from within its jails. As a consequence, officers have to go into the community to take action, said Thomas D. Homan, the agency’s deputy director.

“Fewer jail arrests mean more arrests on the street, and that also requires more resources, which is why we are forced to send additional resources to those areas to meet operational needs and officer safety,” Mr. Homan told The Times. “Consistent with our public safety mission, 88 percent of those arrested during this operation were convicted criminals.”

The actions and notices came even as Congress was debating — and failing to pass — immigration reform legislation.

  1. “Yes We Can!” Love that! And wearing that T is precious. Will just put the spotlight where it should be. “Hey, I am heeereeee! I’m an illegal! Come and arrest me and deport me!” Genius!

  2. Great, as soon as they’re done arresting all the officials for ignoring the law they should throw a party.

    • lophatt . . . . I too find that I am waiting in anticipation for the arrests of the petulant government officials to be arrested . . . .

Please dear God, start the arrests with Governor Kate Brown of Oregon, then move on to City of Portland Mayor (he’s such a dufus, that I cannot remember his name at the moment.) Then start on either the Governor of California, and all the Mayors who are so full of it . .. or start in Washington State with their Governor, then move on to Seattle and their Mayor, then on to the other dullards wherever they may be.

Please, please spend our tax dollars on plenty of manacles, and an equal number of handcuffs, don’t forget plenty of prison garb in the whole range of sizes which may be needed. Just make sure you have sufficient hardware to accommodate all the cretins in any state where they may dwell. I am sick and tired of them not obeying our Constitution! I would not begrudge my tax monies being spent on such an endeavor what so ever. In fact, if you need donations to help in this effort . . . just contact me. I’ll pony up some money.

      • What they’ll save on illegals should more than pay for shipment to GITMO. It should be welcomed by them, being that close to a “communist paradise”.

        • That’ll be the best cargo transportation ever made -house them with the ragheads and then let them cross into Cuba for a taste of “freedom”.

          • You know Alma, we may be on to something here. We could start weekly chartered flights. We could swing by Cuba to drop the Maoists, then hop over to Africa to drop those who are fed up with us white devils.

We could collect their passports at the door of the plane. Bye, bye! So long. Hasta la vista!

  4. Always have known my self, its a stupid argument that keeping them all is cheaper than sending em all back home.

    • Kevin . . . . Bless you for bringing up that fact. I have seen where we are spending “B-I-L-L-I-O-N-S” on illegals immigrants. How could we possibly go wrong by returning them to their country of origin. I am very glad in this instance that the vast majority of those captured in these raids were “criminals.” Perhaps there is some savings to be had, in reduction of thief from our countrymen, etc.

    • Well, they could be given the choice of being shot here or returning.

  5. There cannot possibly be an employer anywhere in the U.S. who is ignorant of the immigration laws, so my suggestion is a one-year mandatory prison sentence (per head) for any employer knowingly hiring illegals. Fines are no problem for them, but a bout in prison would get their attention.

  6. Screw Congress. Let our sworn officers do their job. Day in and day out. Let the officers do the job they’re hired to do. Don’t let some lame ass bureaucrat tie their hands. Stop these invaders at the border. Arrest the ones that are here already. and send them back. We don’t need immigrants that want to live on the dole. If they want to come here, do it according to law. Do it because you have something to contribute. Yes. Immigrants have made this country what it is. Legal ones. Not CRIMINAL INVADERS.

    • We’ve become so inured to this that we don’t realize how stupid it is. If we can prevent those we don’t want from crossing out borders we’re no longer a country, I think that’s the WHOLE idea.

What are we supposed to do, sit there and suck our thumbs? Look at Europe. They have armies there watching the invasion. Hey, I have an idea. What are armies for? Lord knows, we spend a fair amount on ours.

How long do you think it would take for the tide to stop if they were fired upon? I think it wouldn’t take very long at all.
