Obama admin’s 35-yr lease of Port Canaveral to Middle East company with Russian ties endangers U.S. national security

Port Canaveral in Brevard County, Florida, is one of the busiest cargo and cruise ports in the world, with fuel accounting for 75% of the cargo in 2011. It is also a naval port adjacent to the U.S. strategic ballistic missile nuclear submarine base, as well as close to U.S. Air Force facilities and NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. As such, Port Canaveral is critical to America’s national security.

Americans recently learned of how our national security was compromised by the Obama administration’s and then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s approval of the Uranium One deal that gave Russia 20% of our uranium reserves.

In an op/ed for The Washington Times on Nov. 23, 2017, retired U.S. Navy admiral and commander in chief of the U.S. Pacific Fleet James A. Lyons alerts us to another security compromise by the Obama administration — the 35-year lease of Port Canaveral with no security review to the Middle East company Gulftainer, which Admiral Lyons calls a “serious security compromise” to both the Port and its adjacent military infrastructure.

Gulftainer is co-owned by the Iraqi Jafar family and the emir of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates. Gulftainer is also connected to the Russian-controlled Rostec firm that owns 100% of Rosoboronexport, the exporter of Russia’s Club-K container cruise missile system. The system looks like a typical commercial shipping container, which means it can be transported around the United States carrying missiles that can be remotely activated by satellite.

According to Jerome Corsi, in a World Net Daily article, the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) — which should have reviewed the Port Canaveral lease — was bypassed by President Obama’s Treasury secretary, Jack Lew, who previously was Bill Clinton’s chief of staff.

Obama and Treasury Secretary Jack Lew (right). That loopy-loop squiggle is Lew’s signature.

Adm. Lyons writes:

Mr. Lew’s decision may have been further enabled by Aimen Nabi Mir, his designated staff chairman for CFIUS (2009-14). Mr. Mir is the son of a Pakistani immigrant from Kashmir who has ties to the Pakistani Intelligence Service. Mr. Mir himself served twice as the head of the Islamic Society of North America’s (ISNA) youth wing.

It will be recalled, ISNA not only is a Muslim Brotherhood front group, but was listed by the Department of Justice as an unindicted co-conspirator in the 2008 Holy Land Foundation Hamas terror funding trial. It was during Mr. Mir’s CFIUS tenure that both the Gulftainer deal and the Uranium One deal were allowed to slip through.

Gulftainer is co-owned by Hamid Jafar and his brother Jafar Dhia Jofa, Saddam Hussein’s nuclear weapon mastermind and the emir of Sharjah. By way of character reference, Mr. Jafar was on U.S. Central Command’s hit list and could be engaged at any time as a legitimate military target during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Working for Saddam Hussein and in close collaboration with the Russians, Mr. Jafar’s succeeded in designing the “Beach Ball,” a miniaturized nuclear warhead that can fit on the Club-K cruise missile.

A model of North Korea’s miniaturized nuclear weapon appears very similar to Mr. Jafar’s Beach Ball and was seen in a 2017 photo with Kim Jong-un.

The fact that the Iraqi Jafar family is in a joint venture with Russia’s Rostec should have raised red flags all over the place, but that was not going to be allowed to happen. You have to ask, what were the FBI and our intelligence agencies doing? Were they complicit in behind-the-scenes negotiations for the lease?

Russia’s Club-K container cruise missile launch system looks like a normal intermodal commercial container. It can be loaded with four Sizzler cruise missiles or four Switchblade cruise missiles. These missiles can carry biological, chemical, electromagnetic pulse, conventional or nuclear warheads.

Since the Club-K container looks like a typical commercial shipping container, it can be shipped around the country by train, semi-trucks and riverine boat. More troubling yet is the fact that it can then be activated remotely by satellite.

As Roger Aronoff stated in a Jan. 5, 2017 article, approval of the 35-year lease to Gulftainer is a clear case of malfeasance and comes at the expense of our national security and American safety. The Center for Security Policy paper by Alan Jones and Mary Fanning shows that Gulftainer’s parent company, the Crescent Group, is also connected to Iraq’s illicit nuclear weapons program under Saddam Hussein.

Additionally, Hamid Jafar is founder and chairman of the Crescent Group, the parent firm of which Port Canaveral’s Gulftainer USA is a subsidiary. His brother, Jafar, Saddam Hussein’s nuclear scientist, is the CFO of Crescent’s URUK Engineering and Contracting subsidiary.

Not surprisingly, there is a Clinton connection to the Crescent Group. Majid Jafar, brother of the head of the Crescent Group and Mr. Jafar’s nephew, co-chairs with Bill Clinton the Business Backs Education Campaign, which was launched in 2014, the same year that the UAE made its first donation to the Clinton Foundation. The campaign is funded by the Varkey GEMs Foundation, which paid Bill Clinton $5.6 million to serve as honorary chairman. He didn’t even have to give a speech.

The bottom line is that we don’t know how many Club-K missile containers have been or might one day be shipped through Port Canaveral. Even one could cause incalculable damage. In view of the seriousness of the threat, however, and the fact that the 35-year lease was never subjected to a security review, it must be immediately suspended and eventually canceled.

The port’s container facilities must be returned to full U.S. control. Further, we must devise a system that is able to identify these missile containers and neutralize them. We must also investigate how Mr. Aimen Nabi Mir was able to obtain a security clearance and whether he is still at the Treasury Department.

The House Armed Services Committee’s Subcommittee on Emerging Threats and Capabilities will review the 35 year lease of the Port Canaveral Cargo Container Terminal. The Subcommittee’s recommendation is expected by March 2018, at which time the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) will review the lease and make a recommendation to President Trump who, it is hoped, will cancel the lease.

    For your information. What was going on here – where are our protectors – Congress and the Senate or at the least VP Joe Biden? Was this part of that blank check that Paul Ryan gave Obama?

    Could someone explain all of this selling out our country to the enemy?

  6. OK, first we have to stop with the knee-jerk anti-Russian crap. That’s what “liberals” do. The Cold War ended a LONG time ago. The “commies” are here and they aren’t Russians.

    That said, there is no doubt that Obongo and his oily crew sold the US down the river. He enjoyed every minute of it. That’s how you leave the White House wealthy, and he did.

    The uranium deal is clearly a “national security” issue for obvious reasons. The Cape Canaveral thing is not so obvious. Either way, both are either legal and proper or they aren’t. For that matter, ANY country that the US would lease something to could become an “enemy” tomorrow. If that is the case I’m pretty sure you’d cancel the lease.

    The New World Odor has clearly identified Russia as an element they want to dispose of. Anyone that jumps on that band wagon is assisting them. I worry MUCH more about the NWO than I do Russia.

    There is much to undo from many years of these maggots in government. That chore begins by looking inward, not outward.

    • Legitimate concerns about Club-K container cruise missiles being illegally brought into Port Canaveral and transported across America is not “knee jerk anti-Russian crap”.

      • My point was, and still is, that it doesn’t matter where some outfit is headquartered. The same scum that ship WMD worldwide live here as live elsewhere. The globalists have no loyalty to anyone.

        This isn’t a factor of nationality. Just like the Russians have a “Russian” (read Jewish) mafia, America has no shortage of scumbags like the Clintons. If you analyze it further you come to the conclusion that all scumbags work for the same employer and it isn’t headquartered in Russia, or China or Ethiopia for that matter.

        Currently the shipping industry is wide open. Anyone with a desire can ship anything with no problem whatsoever. You may have to bend over at the airport but that’s just for show and to get you used to obedience. Where the shipping containers land there is little to no security.

        All of these nationalistic manufactured “concerns” are just fluff in the script. If people have a desire to save their cultures they will have to know to look within as wall as without. The enemy is already here.

  12. Center for Security Policy | Center Occasional Paper Exposes a Perfect Storm of Threat Authors: Alan Jones and Mary Fanning

    https://www.centerforsecuritypolicy.org/2017/11/13/center-occasional-paper-exposes-a-perfect-storm-of-threat-port-canaveral-container-lease-tied-to-russian-club-k-missile-system/

    Port Canaveral and the 35 year lease awarded to Gulftainer for cargo container operations is disturbing for a number of reasons . Gulftainer is berthed beside our Trident submarines. The lease was awarded to Gulftainer, a Middle Eastern company, without the mandated CFIUS review by the Obama administration. Hillary Clinton and Bill Clinton were deeply involved in this illegal lease with the Jafar family of Gulftainer.

    Port Canaveral is critical military infrastructure where America’s Air Force, Naval, NASA, and military sealift command operations are conducted.

    Disturbingly, Gulftainer has entered into a joint venture with Russia’s Rostec, the exporter of the Trojan Horse cargo container weapons system – the Club K. The Club K is also known as “Pandora’s Box,” “Doomsday Box” and “Bomb in a Box.” The Club K can carry 4 Kalibre missiles, cruise missile, nuclear or an EMP. Dr. Peter Pry has referred to the Club K “as a gamechanger.” The 35 year lease was not subjected to the required review, bypassing both CFIUS and Florida’s sunshine laws.

    The Jafars who are the principles in Gulftainer have violated the terms of the agreement. i.) They have a long and well documented history with WMDs. ii.) The are in partnership with SDN’s (Specially Designated Nationals) i.e. Prominvest Bank, Igor Sechin, and the CEO of Rostec. iii.) Hamid Jafar was under investigation by the Treasury Department and three Congressional committees for his “Oil for Superweapons” scheme that funded Saddam Hussein’s and his brother/business partner Dr. Jafar Dhia Jafar’s WMD programs, including biological, chemical and nuclear weapons.

    This information was kept hidden from Congress and the American people. Now that this information has come to light, what can the Congressman do to help to rectify this disasterous national security situation?

    KEY FINDINGS
    *In 2014, the U.S. awarded UAE-based Gulftainer a 35-year lease to operate the cargo container terminal at Port Canaveral, Florida a key U.S. port for submarine and space programs.
    *The CFIUS review and oversight process failed, possibly in part because a ISNA youth President connected to the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood, served as the CFIUS staff chairperson from 2009-2014.
    *Gulftainer and its co-owners, the Iraqi Jafar family, are in a joint venture with Russia’s Rostec, owner of Rosoboronexport, the Russian state-owned exporter of the Club-K container cruise missile launch system.
    *Gulftainer is co-owned by the brother and business partner of Saddam Hussein’s top nuclear scientist, Dr. Jafar Dhia Jafar, and the Emir of Sharjah, UAE.
    *Dr. Jafar was on the Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) CENTCOM ‘Blacklist’ as an Iraqi regime official who could be engaged as a military target.
    *Dr. Jafar created the so-called ‘Beach Ball’ miniaturized nuclear weapon; ahead of the 2003 OIF invasion. Russian troops helped remove nuclear program devices, materials, and documents from Iraq.
    *Dr. Jafar sought a missile delivery system from North Korea shortly before OIF and North Korea planned to build a missile factory in Iraq.
    *A model of North Korea’s miniaturized nuclear weapon that appears strikingly similar to Dr. Jafar’s Beach Ball design was seen in 2017 photos with Kim Jong-un.
    *Russia’s Club-K container cruise missile launch system looks like a standard ocean container, but can launch biological, chemical, EMP, nuclear, and conventional payloads; it is produced by Russia’s state-owned Concern Morinformsystem-
    *Club-K units can be moved around inside the United States aboard ships, riverine boats, trains, and semi-trucks and then can be remotely activated by satellite.
    *Each Club-K container can be loaded with four ‘Sizzler’ 3M-54-TE cruise missiles (1st stage subsonic, then 2nd stage supersonic on terminal approach to target) or four ‘Switchblade’ cruise missiles.
    *Based on a statement by a Russian official representing the Club-K manufacturer, Club-K was conceptualized during a major conflict (likely the Iraq War) as a way to defend against an invader (U.S.) by using shipping containers.
    *A single Club-K container armed with four cruise missiles can reportedly destroy an aircraft carrier.
    *Defense experts fear that Russia is exporting Club-K container missile launchers to several nations (including China, Iran, Malaysia, North Korea, the UAE, and Venezuela).
    *The Jafars hired Iranian-American Siamak Namazi as Crescent Petroleum’s Director of Strategic Planning.
    *Namazi is a close associate of Trita Parsi, co-founder of the National Iranian American Council (NIAC), often referred to as the ‘Iran Lobby’ in the U.S.; both Namazi and Parsi worked closely with the Iranian delegations to nuclear talks that culminated in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in July 2015.
    *Jafar’s Gulftainer is majority owner in a consortium which was under FBI and Department of Defense (DOD) investigation, after being implicated in illicit export activity and money laundering for Iran.
    *Dr. Jafar’s nuclear weapons advisor and accomplice was Yevgeny Primakov, former Russian Prime Minister, spymaster, and for years, the Kremlin’s top expert on Middle East affairs and architect of the ‘Islamic Bloc,’ as conceived by Russia.
    *Dr. Jafar’s Iraqi nuclear weapons program was a covert Russian-sponsored nuclear weapons program.
    *Dr. Jafar directed not only the nuclear program in Iraq, but also technology transfer and illicit procurement for it, including inside the U.S.

    Our military fought the Nazis and the US powers that be brought Nazis back to the US to work for our military/CIA intelligence. Our military fought our “enemy” Saddam Hussein (Bush’s former business partner) and again, we bring in the same “enemies” to lease our port and possibly import to our soil weapons that can destroy us. Why are we paying billions to maintain a standing military when the Trojan Horse will destroy us?

    • My first thought,,, True!

      It’s like when Obama told us that we “HAD” to pay Iran a bazzillion dollars b//c it was “their” frozen assets from the 70”’s Iranian hostage crisis that we froze……..b//c the “World Court in the Hague”” was going to judge against us for even MORE………If it were a perfect world (& I WERE POTUS)…I’d have told them to pound sand…..and sent them a bill for our Embassy, and billed them per hour for each and every hostage at $50-$100 or more per hour …….plus hardship/overtime,,, extraction fee…..every ounce of jet fuel that brought these hostages home, the millions of dollars lost on a failed “”rescue”” mission, and so on,, in fact……my accountants would have handed the “”world court”” a bill that maybe exceeded Iran”s “”frozen”” accts…of course, adjusted for today’s dollars —-including subsequent medical bills for each hostage,, and “pain and suffering “” penalties……And then, I’d have told the “world court” to try and and “collect” from me/the USA. Even if they ruled “”against us” it would have taken YEARS to adjudicate our counter complaints……..

      The “secret” deliverance of tons of GOLD on pallets, by plane, to Iran,, fr the Obama admin….is one of the most obscene politically-engineered events of my lifetime……

  21. Thanks for the detailed “warning” of the latest goings-on down in Central Florida’s Port Canaveral! This type of hanky-panky between “Presidents & Ports” seems to have been going on for some time. GW Bush pushed this prior UAE ports deal in 2006:

    “UAE terminal takeover extends to 21 ports:”
    By PAMELA HESS, UPI Pentagon Correspondent
    Feb. 24, 2006
    https://www.upi.com/Business_News/Security-Industry/2006/02/24/UAE-terminal-takeover-extends-to-21-ports/UPI-49811140783888/

    –CLUELESS: “NONE of the NINE administration officials assembled for the briefing could immediately say HOW MANY of the MORE THAN 3,000 port terminals are currently UNDER FOREIGN CONTROL.” (!!!)
    –More 2006 stats from the article: “More than 7 million cargo containers come through 361 American ports annually, half of the containers through New York-New Jersey, Los Angeles and Long Beach, Calif. Only a small percentage are physically searched and just 37 percent currently screened for radiation, an indication of an attempt to smuggle in nuclear material that could be used for a ‘dirty bomb.'”

    New “security measures” after 9/11, per article: “…that required documentation on all cargo 24 hours before it was loaded on a ship in a foreign port bound for the United States. A ‘risk analysis’ is conducted on every shipment, including a review of the ship’s history, the cargo’s history and contents and other factors. Each ship must also provide the U.S. government 96 hours notice of its arrival in an American port, along with a crew manifest.”
    –“The Coast Guard oversees security, and they have the authority to inspect containers if they want and they can look at manifests, but they are really dependent on [port] facility operators to carry out security issues.”
    –“The Marine Transportation Security Act of 2002 requires vessels and port facilities to conduct vulnerability assessments and develop security plans including passenger, vehicle and baggage screening procedures; security patrols; establishing restricted areas; personnel identification procedures; access control measures; and/or installation of surveillance equipment. Under the same law, port facility operators may have access to Coast Guard security incident response plans — that is, they would know how the Coast Guard plans to counter and respond to terrorist attacks.”

    –Pro vs. Con: “Deputy Defense Secretary Gordon England warned that the uproar about the United Arab Emirates involvement in U.S. ports could risk alienating the very countries in the Middle East the United States is trying to court as allies in the war on terrorism.”
    –The CSP disagreed: “…the Center for Security Policy, a right-leaning organization … posited the sale as the Treasury Department putting commerce interests above national security.”

    No surprise there!

    • Here’s an even OLDER similar-type article that I was actually looking for when I saw the above UAE 2006 article.

      This WND article from 1998 was re then-President Willie Clinton’s 1997 idea to hand over to a Chinese shipping company the abandoned-in-1991 Long Beach (Calif.) Naval Station-converted-into-cargo-terminal. Where did Willie get such an idea? The “Clinton Connection” greasing-of-palms in your article & the “web of connections” sounds similar to this one:

      “The COSCO deal: Is the game rigged?”:
      Published: 01/20/1998 by Joseph Farah
      http://www.wnd.com/1998/01/1041/

      –“…remember how this insane plan to hand over a military base to the Chinese was initiated in the first place. It was President Clinton who came up with the idea. It was just days after COSCO adviser Hongye Zheng attended one of Clinton’s Saturday morning radio broadcasts, and following a transfer of $391,000 into the Democratic National Committee’s coffers mysteriously raised by Johnny Chung, that Washington proposed the deal to Long Beach officials. Coincidence?”

      –“…the Chinese Overseas Shipping Co., or COSCO, a Beijing-owned shipping line that hands out cash to influential Americans such as former Secretary of State Alexander Haig to promote itself as just another business.”

      –Good quote at bottom of article which would apply to the Obama/Port Canaveral deal as well: “V.I. Lenin said capitalists would someday hang from rope they sold to the Communists. But even he couldn’t have possibly imagined how shortsighted, greedy Americans would one day try to sell their own domestic military bases — their own sovereignty, their own strategic real estate — to Communists. Even capitalists couldn’t be that stupid. Or could they?”

      A follow-up WND article in Sept. 1998 says that (remarkably) the Republicans did something right for a change & passed a law outlawing the handover of that base/port to the Chinese COSCO:

      “Long Beach won’t give up on COSCO – Congress kills bid by Chinese to take over naval base”:
      Published: 09/21/1998 by Joseph Farah
      wnd dot com/1998/09/3339/

      –“COSCO has a long and very troubling record of shipping both weapons and components of mass destruction around the world,” said Hunter [R-San Diego]. “For all practical purposes, COSCO is the merchant marine of the Chinese military. As a result, they carry the cargo of the Chinese military upon command and without question. We do not need to increase their access to American soil.”

      –“Congress has thrown two years of effort out the window due to a ridiculous political climate,” said John W. Hancock, president of the Board of Harbor Commissioners.

      ~~~
      “Ridiculous Political Climate” > LOL. Aren’t politics always ridiculous? It’s their normal SOP > Standard Operating Procedure.
      Here’s hoping the Trump Admin puts the AXE to Obama’s Port Canaveral deal!
I imagine the 0bama/moslom holdovers in the US military like mcmaster and the rest will allow an enemy to nuke us and say that the order to retaliate is “illegal, then surrender, fulfilling their end goal of destroying America.
