Sexgate: 8 men in liberal MSM lose jobs because of sexual misconduct

When the New York Times, for whatever reasons of their own, outed Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein as a sexual assaulter/rapist although the Times had known about the brute for years, the floodgates were opened to a deluge of accusations against other denizens of Hollywood. See:

The Weinstein Effect isn’t confined to Hollywood, but has spread to journalism as well.

In an article that was updated on November 11, 2017, the New York Times names eight men in journalism who deservedly are caught in Weinstein’s undertow. Some of them are major figures in liberal journalism, including Mark Halperin and Leon Wieseltier.

The eight, in alphabetical order, are:

(1) Ken Baker, E! News correspondent:

  • Sexual harassment of two women, including unwanted kissing and inappropriate messages.
  • Baker has been pulled from air while NBCUniversal investigates the charges.
  • Baker’s response: “I am very disturbed by these anonymous allegations, which make my heart ache. I take them very seriously.”

(2) Hamilton Fish, president and publisher of The New Republic and former publisher of The Nation:

  • Complaints by female employees about “certain workplace interactions [with Fish] that have created an uncomfortable environment for them”.
  • Fish was placed on leave, then resigned.
  • Fish: “Women have longstanding and profound concerns with respect to their treatment in the workplace. Many men have a lot to learn in this regard. I know I do, and I hope for and encourage that new direction.”

(3) Mark Halperin, 52, NBC News and MSNBC contributor, author of Game Change:

  • Sexual harassment or assault of at least a dozen women when Halperin was political director at ABC News– that Halperin placed his erect penis on the bodies of women without consent; masturbated in front of a woman in his office; and threw another woman against a restaurant window before attempting to kiss her.
  • Dismissed from MSNBC and NBC News and had upcoming book and HBO adaptation canceled.
  • Halperin: “I am profoundly sorry for the pain and anguish I have caused by my past actions. I apologize sincerely to the women I mistreated.”

(4) Knight Landesman, 67, publisher of Artforum, an international monthly magazine on contemporary art:

  • Sexual harassment of at least nine women, including groping.
  • Resigned.
  • Landesman: “I fully recognize that I have tested certain boundaries, which I am working hard to correct.”

(5) Michael Oreskes, 63, Head of news at NPR (National Public Radio) and former New York Times editor:

  • Sexual harassment of three women.
  • Resigned.
  • Oreskes: “I am deeply sorry to the people I hurt. My behavior was wrong and inexcusable, and I accept full responsibility.”

(6) Robert Scoble, 52, tech blogger and co-founder of the Transformation Group, an “augmented reality” consulting firm:

  • Sexual harassment, including unwanted sexual advances, of as many as 12 women.
  • Fired.
  • Scoble: “I am deeply sorry and I am ashamed.”

(7) Lockhart Steele, 44, editorial director of the multinational digital media company Vox Media:
Sexual harassment of at least one person, including unwanted kissing.
Fired: Vox Media’s chief executive said Steele had admitted to “engaging in conduct that is inconsistent with our core values and will not be tolerated.”

(8) Leon Wieseltier, 64, contributing editor of The Atlantic and former editor of The New Republic:

  • Sexual harassment of several women, including inappropriate advances.
  • Fired from Emerson Collective, which canceled publication of a magazine he was editing.
  • Wieseltier: “For my offenses against some of my colleagues in the past I offer a shaken apology and ask for their forgiveness.”

      • Like Jerry Brown having Linda Rodstadt for a “girlfriend”. We know he had Don Henley for his boyfriend. “Pan deviancy”. Wow!

        • I don’t want to put a speck in Don Henley’s eye when I have lumber in my own, but Don Henley as gay or bisexual? So many of his songs and music are about his life’s relationships, and I thought they were all gals. I must be way more ignorant than I know….

          • Well, the story is (and it is pretty well documented), that after his relationship with Stevie Nicks ended, he started another with Moombeam. Of course he was pretty heavily into drugs at the time. Having said that, I don’t think I could take enough drugs to make me queer and in love with Jerry Brown.

The story is that Don “ordered” two underaged homeless girls for the evening. He fed them dope and raped them. One of them suffered convulsions and almost died. There was a rather big fracas with the cops and paramedics. “Friend” Jerry got it all under control with the help of his Hollywood minions and a few politicians.

I know its an ugly story. I like Henley’s music too. I don’t like his life choices.

      • Baker published a book in September, “The Ken Commandments.” From Amazon:

Ken Baker, the popular L.A.-based senior correspondent for E! News and E! Online, has worked in Hollywood for over twenty years—hobnobbing with multimillionaires and interviewing movie, music and TV stars such, day in and day out. In that time, and in the land of fairy tales and double-dealing, Baker had become one of the materialistic, carnal people he never wanted to be, abandoning his Christian heritage and losing his spiritual center in the process. Finding himself alone and confused one day in Vegas, he has an awakening that puts him on a journey to find God, not only in himself, but in the celebrities whose lives intersect with his both professionally and personally.

In The Ken Commandments, Ken sets off on an experiment that will bring him closer to the spiritual lives of such diverse luminaries as Deepak Chopra, Tom Cruise, Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber, Joel Osteen and Gwen Stefani and in the process help to reveal the light and dark of Hollywood in new ways. From New Age spirituality, to Bible-based Christianity, to Scientology, to Buddhist retreats, to meditation classes, to Atheism studies, to the mega-church of the nation’s top TV preacher, Baker immerses himself in a range of spiritual practices side by side with the celebrity set, revealing a world that is deeper, more questioning and more God-centered than you’d ever imagine.

  6. Jewish perverts? Say it ain’t so!

    • Some of the nicest pervs I ever met when I was a young pre-teen were Jewish boys in the neighbourhood…. More seriously, both the Sams I knew from my father’s business were far more out-front about human sexuality than my very repressed Italian Roman Catholic family & friends, so I can see where a curious youth would go for ‘information’. Will this errancy ever cease? To the extent that public school sex education makes children more self-aware and able to deal with their changing bodies and natures, I think that’s a public good, BUT there’s an abyss past that where we sinners fall more easily than not. IMO of course.

  8. Well I think you have your answer to all these Jewish perverts being publicly outed. Conservative Senate elect Roy Moore is being similarly outed now:

As Carville said when Clinton was being publicly harassed…”If you drag a hundred-dollar bill through a trailer park, you never know what you’ll find.”
The interesting thing is how the Main stream media is so well coordinated on this. Republicans are now asking Moore to graciously step down. How considerate. One thing we learned through this last election is that the United States has a single party system where Israel is concerned. The Jews appear to be pulling all the stops out to get rid of Senator Roy Moore. Moore is famous for posting a monument of the ten commandments outside the Alabama Supreme court. Something that the Jews have been struggling with since Moses brought it down from Mt. Sinai many years ago.

      • Thanks for that Henley link. I’m going to look that up right now. I stopped listening to Fleetwood Mac when I learned about their “lifestyle”. I could tolerate their substance abuse (their choice, their money) but the marital affairs and Stevie’s abortions. No. It just killed the music for me. Really wish I had their songwriting talent though.

        • That’s a comment for lophatt – put it in wrongly whoops

        • Well, as a lifelong musician, I do not make heroes out of those whose music I like. I appreciate it for what it is. I will not buy the work of those who actively work to undermine society.

I personally had no knowledge of this at the time. I do know that, despite Stevie’s foibles, she is a better old woman than she was as a young one. I have no idea of her beliefs beyond that.

Redemption is possible for anyone. I’ll leave it at that.

  9. Great work Dr. E! Thought about writing a long post…. but I’m laughing too hard! What’s that old cliche? Hmm…… lemme think. Oh yeah, I just remembered: People that live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones!

      • That’s why I wonder why “every” woman in America jumps on the bandwagon once ONE takes the plunge and accuses someone-right or wrong-of a sexual abuse. Why don’t the Attorneys just start a website to have women log in,spin the wheel to select the man they wanna accuse, and wait for their check to arrive? I’m sorry for those who WERE abused, but I believe at least 80% of the accusers are lying and just want to score a check and some notoriety. Maybe they need to keep the men’s names secret and make the ACCUSERS name their abuser. I bet MOST wouldn’t be able to,because they wouldn’t know who the possible participants were.

        • I think it’s different in the case of accusers from Hollyweird. Their casting couch and power abuse has been going on for decades.

Granted, their claims may be exaggerated now with the proliferation of claims. Maybe their goal is to change the paradigm of power.

Then again it may not. After all, Polanski still gets a standing ovation.

        • “every” woman in America jumps on the bandwagon

That’s a gross and wholly inaccurate exaggeration that insults and demeans the women who have come forth to tell the truth.

  11. Before we harp on McCarthyism, let’s take a step back and start with the Big Daddy of the Sexual Revolution, Hugh Hefner.
It all began—so it seemed—innocently enough: A centerfold of Marilyn Monroe. But that lit the fuse, so it seems…

FDR said, “Nothing in politics happens by accident. If something happens, you can be sure it was planned that way.”
Ditto in the spiritual realm: We may not be able to see one event—however seemingly benign at the time—as lighting a fuse. Lest We Forget: “Nothing happens on earth that has not happened first in the Heavenlies.” We are at WAR, and we don’t even know it until after it hits!

This is not a rant against pornography, necessarily: It is a rant against SATAN, OUR MORTAL ENEMY. He is the one who has planned the War, the Strategy, the Tactics, the Battles.
He has his Chain of Command, his generals, his deputies and lieutenants, and all the rest.
But something is going on here. David Icke and dozens of other intrepid independent investigative journalists have labored—for over 20 years—to bring the sexual crimes of the Ruling Elites to public light. So we have seen a number of big names in Hollywood come to light recently. Now we see, here in this post, of a number of big names in the news media.

Could it be—? Could it be? Could it be, YOU AIN’T SEEN NOTHIN’ YET???

For Satan, sexual gratification is one of the “coins of the realm” to ensnare souls: He can’t make everybody rich, and he can’t make everybody famous. But he sure can aid and abet a large number of men (and women!) get their kicks!
And this is how he brings down entire civilizations!

More names are about to be “outed.” Names in the political realm. Names in the entertainment realm. And, Yes, names in the news media realm. More names are about to be outed. (And thanks to President Trump, indictments are soon to be forthcoming.)
So it seems to me that we’re about to drain the swamp here. Bill & Hillary and George H.W. Bush are about to get their last licks in: There may be more “suicides” yet to come. But we are about to see yet more of the Bible come true: The sins of our “leaders”—in politics, entertainment and on and on—are about to be revealed.

On the sociological side of the matter, this will support the Biblical view of the matter: Politics does not drive the culture; Rather, the culture drives the politics. It does trickle down: From the culture to the politics.
And yet, I am of the opinion that all that is happening regardless of Hugh Hefner and his lighting of the fuse: We can blame certain things on pornography. Yes, it has had an influence on the culture—and the politics. And Yet, this did NOT happen without the consent of the public at large: Our political structure is a REPUBLIC. Yet our culture is a DEMOCRACY.

More bombshells are coming. “Marvel Not!”

  13. I think much of it, considering the timing of the claims and allegations (30, 40+ years after the alleged abuse, just before elections) is politically and ideologically driven. Both sides are eager to do whatever it takes to keep those with whom they vehemently disagree OUT of office and thus power.

I’m sure I’m not the only one to immediately notice old Gloria Allred at the side of the latest accuser in her news conferences. And I’d be willing to bet that Soros or his ilk is providing the deep pockets to fund the vampire-like attorneys bringing the charges.

OTOH, barring statutes of limitations (and actual ages of majority-consent in the states/times in question), those actually found guilty of such acts via their Constitutionally-guaranteed Right of Due Process, should not only be barred from office, they should serve time…

I find it disingenuous the way liberal women say they are horribly offended that old Roy would have asked girls’ mothers for their permission before even dating their daughters back in the day…
That’s the way we were taught to do things properly, rather than just going out and dragging some wench by the hair to our caves. But the feminists find a way to obfuscate that; they make it sound like Roy asked the mom’s permission to rape the under-aged teen. Oh my God… morons.
