ICE arrests nearly 450 illegal immigrants in sanctuary city raids

Number should be much higher but it’s a good start. Bonus: it upsets libtards.

From Fox News: As part of a massive illegal immigration sweep, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced Thursday that officials this week arrested nearly 500 illegal immigrants living in sanctuary cities across the country.

The raid, referred to as “Operation ‘Safe City’” in a news release, spanned four days in cities through the U.S., and ended Wednesday.

Illegal immigrants with criminal charges or known gang-affiliations were targeted, the release said, noting that recipients of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program were not.

In Philadelphia, 107 illegal immigrants were arrested, while 101 were arrested in Los Angeles and 45 people were arrested in New York.

The release noted that 18 of the 498 people arrested were gang members or have gang affiliations.

A Mexican illegal immigrant in Los Angeles who was arrested is a member of the Colonia Chiques gang, a group dubbed one of the “largest and deadliest gangs” in southern California’s Ventura County by the FBI.

That immigrant, who was found with a handgun, allegedly rammed a number of law enforcement vehicles in an attempt to escape from authorities.

Sanctuary cities — or cities that don’t cooperate with federal immigration policy — have become a heated topic as the Trump administration has pushed for a stronger crackdown on illegal immigration.

Even though ICE has said arrests of illegal immigrants are up 43 percent since this time last year, deportation numbers are down, according to The Washington Post.

  4. This was nice news to wake up to on a football-free Sunday morning. Thanks for reporting it, DCG!

You know what I’d love? I’d love it if the entire city of San Francisco were arrested and deported to… oh… I don’t care. North Korea? Siberia? The bottom of the ocean? (For decades, I’ve been waiting on the San Andreas Fault to liberate the U.S. from San Fagcrisco but it only disappoints me year after year. Ha!)

    Have a great day!

  5. Now that is what I call a pretty fabulous early Christmas present. I just hope Santa does give up just yet, we have plenty of days before Christmas. I would like to see this as a regular weekly thing.

  6. Massive my big fat butt. 450???? WTF? 14,000,550 to go. This is a national emergency. Call out the army, the national guard, state police, local police, militias and any patriot that wants to help. Every school bus, city bus, train and boat needs to be pressed into service. Take them to a border, any border and KICK THEM OUT. If we as a nation come together as we did in WWII the problem could be solved in record time. And once they’re gone close the borders to all that want to come here any way but legally.

  7. It’s a start… a statement to the imbeciles in charge of those cities that even if they declare themselves to have seceded from the Union (as “sanctuary cities” that refuse to comply with federal law protecting U.S. Citizens from criminal aliens), Uncle Sam still has the long-arm reach of the law to go in there anyway and take the bad guys without their help. Or permission.

I think keeping the number (ridiculously) low (on a national scale) tells us they’re trying to avert any sensationalism by the left and anarchists to say it’s some sort of a fascist move. Rather, it’s a controlled, conservative movement clearly targeting those who are not just here without having gone through proper channels, but those who have actually broken serious laws here, or who by reason of their association with known violent gangs, pose a clear and present danger to the safety of those of us who are here LEGALLY…

Finally, RE: the truckload in the video:
Pity the fool being used as an unloading ramp. Help him!
Were there no attractive women on board??? None?
Why are they all wearing long pants? Sheesh, get them some shorts…

  8. I suspect that many think that being “sanctuary cities” prevents ICE action. It doesn’t. At most it means that those areas are refusing to cooperate. I’ve said my peace on that. They should arrest the officials.

Nonetheless, ICE can continue to raid and arrest, and should. So yeah, its better by 450 than it was. It has a LONG way to go to be more than just window dressing.

  10. I’ll take 500 deportations a week. The city managers, Mayors, Governors and business owners that support and hire illegal aliens are opposing law and order at every turn. The time is now to close our borders to all immigration until the RAISE Act is enacted, and withdraw from the U.N.’s refugee program for the foreseeable future – as a matter of National Security. We already provide more foreign aid than any other U.N. member.

Switzerland has just enacted a sensible law which bans all foreign cash infusions intended to build mosques. We need to begin de-islamification without delay.
