Boycott: Upcoming Emmy’s hosted by Stephen Colbert, who makes Nazi salute in criticism of Trump

CBS must be so proud of this hack

Trump basher Stephen Colbert is hosting the Emmy’s this year which is scheduled for September 17 on CBS. Expect the award ceremony to be a full-on production of Trump Derangement Syndrome. I for one will not be watching this show full of elite, hypocritical narcissists.

From Daily Mail: Stephen Colbert, the host of CBS Late Show who has been one of President Donald Trump’s most vocal critics, is once again generating controversy on Friday after he made a Nazi salute in reference to Trump’s former chief strategist Steve Bannon.

Colbert, CBS’s late night star who once made a crude remark about President Donald Trump’s relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin, returned to host his show this week after a two-week hiatus.

In his opening monologue, Colbert cracked jokes about Bannon, the now-departed White House aide who returned to head alt-right news site Breitbart. Colbert’s jokes were interspersed with clips of Bannon talking to Charlie Rose of 60 Minutes in an interview.

CBS has released portions of the interview in which Bannon is heard talking about a number of issues, including Trump’s controversial reaction to the violence at a white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia last month.

Trump was criticized for blaming ‘both sides’ after an anti-racist counter-protester was killed and 20 others were injured when a suspected neo-Nazi ploughed his car into a crowd of people on August 12.

In his 60 Minutes interview, Bannon defended Trump’s response to Charlottesville. ‘By the way, after the Charlottesville situation – that’s what I told John Kelly – I was the only guy that came out and tried to defend him,’ Bannon told 60 Minutes. ‘I was the only guy that said, “He’s talking about something that’s… taking it up to a higher level”,’ he said.

That’s when Colbert interjected.

‘Yeah, he’s definitely taking it to a higher level. I’d say his support is about up there. Right around here,’ the former Colbert Report host said as he stretched his arm out to a 45-degree angle with his fingers extended similar to how the Nazis used to salute Adolf Hitler.

‘Or over here,’ Colbert said, adjusting his arm to give another mock Nazi salute. ‘Somewhere up there.’

Colbert has drawn criticism in the past for controversial statements about Trump. On his May 1 broadcast, he lashed out at the president during his opening monologue, when he remarked that ‘the only thing [Trump’s] mouth is good for is being Vladimir Putin’s c*** holster.’

The broadcast sparked thousands of complaints to the FCC, which launched a review. The agency eventually declined to take any action against Colbert.

  1. Prediction: The upcoming Emmy’s will be one long Trump hate-fest.

I don’t watch Emmy’s or any other awards show. Waste of my time.

    • DITTO Dr. E!!!!! Never had much interest anyway, b/c I don’t go to movies (if you live in CA, when you go to the movies, the audience is the same as the audience at a boxing match —-up and down, loud, talking, yelling, cell phones ringing, kids running the aisles, a total CIRCUS—-so, I DON’T go…won’t pay the arm & leg they ask these days to subject myself to hours of torture—-& USUSALLY for stupid Hollyweird fare……).

And then, there is the problem of the politicalization of the award ceremonies….just like today’s ESPN “professional” football fare. Going to date myself…( I was VERY YOUNG 🙂 ) but, once the Indian Maiden came to the Oscars to retrieve Marlon Brando’s award……I never tuned in again…..(a pretty long drought…with no end in sight as far as I’m concerned…..).

  2. I used to watch them to kinda of see who was who and what was what. This was especially true when I was working in the “corporate” world so I could carry on a half way decent conversation. Now that I am retired, no need to do that because the sheep, cows and dog don’t really care.

  4. That’d get him locked up in Germany – post haste. Bet that stuff is like walking into the airport and yelling I’m a terrorist with a gun.

  6. If Colbert had any decency and self respect, he would realize just how wrong he is. What a tool.

  8. You too can be a New World Odor shill. This little Nazi is best buddies with John Podesta and James Alefantis. Sort of fits today’s revelations, no? When the going gets weird, the weird get going.

  9. Anyone that gives this worthless POS one minute of time should re analyze their thinking. He knows nothing of history, but worships a full fledged Muslim that did so much damage to this country. A country, that still believes in capitalism, that made it possible for him to become filthy rich I might add.
I never waste one minute of precious time left to watch any of those back slapping shows.

  10. I can’t remember the last time I watched an awards show – they’re shamelessly self-serving, and I lost interest when rappers started hijacking & whining that their “music” was excluded.

    • Those “rappers”,as rich as they’ve become,STILL can’t buy a clue that what they do is NOT music-if anything it’s the opposite of music, created so the “musically impaired” could get rich TOO.

  11. I don’t watch TV so its a little hard for me to boycott. On a different subject, is there a way to turn off the add at the top of this site? It really messes with being able to read or post anything.

Readers of FOTM get their content completely free of charge. Unlike other sites, we don’t ask for donations.

That ad is what enables FOTM writers to earn a very small income from WordAds revenue. As owner and administrator, I incur some special expenses. Every year, I pay WordPress $99 for a domain name (which enables us to carry WordAds) and for extra storage space. I also incur other blogging-related expenses: software; membership in people search engines and genealogy web sites; donations to worthy sites (e.g., Campus Reform, Judicial Watch) which I use for news sources.

  14. I’ve never thought he was funny. But then I’ve never watched his shitk longer than about 3 seconds. It takes me that long to find the remote. I think the secret service needs to crawl up his ass with a microscope until he changes his tune.
