Judge temporarily blocks Texas abortion law that allows children to be torn apart from the mother’s womb

From UPI: A federal judge on Tuesday temporarily blocked a Texas law banning a second-trimester abortion procedure set to go into affect in September.

Judge Lee Yeakel (appointed by George W. Bush) of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas granted a temporary restraining order delaying enforcement of the law until Sept. 14. His order was in response to a lawsuit brought against the state of Texas by Planned Parenthood, the Center for Reproductive Rights and other women’s health groups.

The law, Senate Bill 8, in part banned the use of second-trimester dilation and evacuation procedures — a widely used method of abortion in which the fetus is removed from the uterus in pieces — unless the fetus is deceased.

In his order, Yeakel described the procedure, sometimes referred to as D&E, as “the most commonly used and safest” second trimester abortion.

Without the use of D&E, that leaves a “woman and her physician with abortion procedures that are more complex, risky, expensive, difficult for many women to arrange, and often involve multi-day visits to physicians, and overnight hospital stays,” Yeakel wrote.

Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas CEO Ken Lambrecht welcomed the ruling, saying it protects patients.

“This ruling means that patients and doctors can together make decisions based on medical science rather than political goals,” Lambrecht said in a statement. “While the Texas Legislature continues to create barriers for women seeking healthcare, including safe, legal abortion, our doors will remain open to Texans seeking healthcare.”

Attorney General Ken Paxton said SB 8 doesn’t ban all second-trimester abortions, just D&E while the fetus is still alive.

“Dismemberment abortions are gruesome and inhumane, which makes it troubling that a district court would block Texas’ lawful authority to protect the life of unborn children from such a barbaric practice,” said Marc Rylander, director of communications for Paxton. “The Texas attorney general will continue to defend our state’s legal right to protect the basic human rights and dignity of the unborn.”

Safest for whom? Certainly not for the unborn baby.

  2. Judge Yeakel reminds me of one of the German “doctors” during WWII. How could anyone approve doing that to a live human being? I am sure the Heavens weep over all the evil going on down on Earth.

    • Very same thought I had when I saw his picture! Problem is that these people don’t think of the unborn as human beings, just a biological bundle of cells and tissue, pretty much like a tumor. When it’s undesirable, you cut it out. Life is not sacred to them, hut malignant. Sad but real.

  4. Can we perform this procedure on this judge so we can get his opinion afterwards?

Since when can judges over ride the will of the people? Its time to get these monsters off the bench. The first step is to end life time appointments, judges should have to undergo affirmation every three years or be limited to a five year term.

This judge is giving the doctors the license to murder – but mam the babies before he murders them by yanking out limb by limb. When will there be judges out there who stop all of this genocide. These doctors who commit this genocide are no different than the ISIS terrorists.

Also, this judge must be in cahoots with Michael Moore – so that the doctors can kill all of the white babies that Moore wants dead.

  7. How about that? I found a Dr. Jekyll in Judge Yeakel, how befitting, he has that icy cold look about himself like he came out of a morgue’s refrigerator, sooo creepy!

    • Not to make excuses for them (there aren’t any), but often physicians have to objectify what they’re working on. If they couldn’t, they couldn’t treat anyone.

Still, I’ve known a lot of medical doctors who wouldn’t touch anything like this. Of course they are Christian doctors.

  9. Abortion is NOT a medical “treatment’ for a disease or ailment of any kind, except in the RARE need to save the mother’s life. And, abortion by cutting up and evacuating, one limb or viable section at a time, a child from the womb is…..well….dismembering and evacuationg a live human being from the womb…..call it what ever euphamism you can concoct…it’s all the same outcome.

It just makes me ill. And THIS is a prime example of why anyone who thinks the U.S.A. will somehow avoid the full and destructive judgment of God during the “Apocalypse” is fooling himself. We, collectively as a nation, will reap what we have sown, just like every other nation will. The U.S.A. is not “spe-eeee-cial”.
