Girl bye: Joss Whedon fan site shuts down after 15 years

Director Whedon is a vile, angry libtard who deserves nothing of the fame that has made him worth $100 million. See the following:

From Hollywood Reporter: It comes a day after Whedon’s ex-wife penned a scathing column about the director.

A day after Joss Whedon was criticized as a hypocrite “preaching feminist ideals” by his ex-wife, architect Kai Cole, a popular fan site dedicated to the director has decided to say farewell.

Whedonesque.com has operated for 15 years, acting as a message board for fans of Whedon’s work, which ranges from Buffy the Vampire Slayer to The Avengers movie.

“15 years is a long time and a lot of water has flowed under the bridge,” reads the final post on the site. “But now it’s time to say goodbye. No more threads after this one, we’re closing down.”

The admins called for donations to organizations that deal with complex post-traumatic stress disorder, a condition that Cole wrote in a column for TheWrap that she was diagnosed with after Whedon revealed his multiple affairs during their fifteen-year marriage. After Cole’s post, many online were quick to chastise Whedon, an outspoken feminist that has built a career on strong female protagonists.

The Whedonesque twitter will stay in operation.

In June, a 2006 script that Whedon wrote for a Wonder Woman movie that never went into production leaked online, with many DC fans calling the director’s take on the character sexist due to the character description, dialogue and the majority of the important action falling on the male lead Steve Trevor (played by Chris Pine in the Patty Jenkins-directed feature).

Whedon is currently finishing re-shoots on The Justice League movie, which he took over for director Zach Snyder after he has to bow out following a family tragedy. The director is also developing a Batgirl movie with Warner Bros. and DC.

  1. Why isn’t the pasty pale-faced Whedon — whose very privileged life began with being the son and grandson of Hollywood screenwriters (his dad, John Whedon, is the writer of “Captain Kangaroo”) — a target of the Left’s “Hate White Men” campaign?

  2. From what I can tell, it will be no loss. So a man whips out a few movies and he becomes worth 100 million and that gives him a ticket to be a jerk.
What has he done for mankind? What has he done for his community?
    Just another leftist blowhard.

  3. Stephen T. McCarthy

A Leftist hypocrite? Who-da thunk it?!

All of his movies are absolutely superficial slop with nothing really to say. And on top of that, the guy looks like he’s been hoarding human heads! I mean, come on! How big of a head does one man need to have?

If it weren’t for his money, he probably couldn’t have found anyone to commit adultery with — male or female. He’s disgusting in every way.

  4. The testimony of hypocrite Joss Whedon’s ex-wife Kai Cole deserves your full reading:

There were times in our relationship that I was uncomfortable with the attention Joss paid other women. He always had a lot of female friends, but he told me it was because his mother raised him as a feminist, so he just liked women better. He said he admired and respected females, he didn’t lust after them. I believed him and trusted him. On the set of “Buffy,” Joss decided to have his first secret affair.

Joss admitted that for the next decade and a half, he hid multiple affairs and a number of inappropriate emotional ones that he had with his actresses, co-workers, fans and friends, while he stayed married to me.

When he walked out of our marriage, and was trying to make “things seem less bewildering” to help me understand how he could have lied to me for so long, he said, “In many ways I was the HEIGHT of normal, in this culture. We’re taught to be providers and companions and at the same time, to conquer and acquire — specifically sexually — and I was pulling off both!”

Despite understanding, on some level, that what he was doing was wrong, he never conceded the hypocrisy of being out in the world preaching feminist ideals, while at the same time, taking away my right to make choices for my life and my body based on the truth. He deceived me for 15 years, so he could have everything he wanted. I believed, everyone believed, that he was one of the good guys, committed to fighting for women’s rights, committed to our marriage, and to the women he worked with. But I now see how he used his relationship with me as a shield, both during and after our marriage, so no one would question his relationships with other women or scrutinize his writing as anything other than feminist.

I thought we were a couple, a team. I was a powerful influence on the career choices Joss made during the 20 years we were together (we lived together for four years before marrying). I kept him grounded, and helped him find the quickest way to the success he so deeply craved. I loved him. And in return, he lied to me. A lot. He said, after he left, he understood: “It’s not just like I killed you, but that I’d done it subtly, over years. That I’d been poisoning you. Chipping away at you.” He made me doubt my own instincts and watched me move further away from my personal values and social mores, trying to connect with him, never telling me it was impossible. By the time he finally confessed the truth, 15 years after his first affair on the set of “Buffy,” I was broken. My brain could not fit my experience of our life together, through the new lens of his deceit.

My entire reality changed overnight, and I went from being a strong, confident woman, to a confused, frightened mess. I was eventually diagnosed with Complex PTSD and for the last five years, I have worked hard to make sense of everything that happened and find my balance again. It has not been easy, because even though in my personal life I have been completely open about what happened, publicly people only know his superficial presentation of us: him as the lovable geek-feminist and me in the background, as his wife and supporter.

We’re finally divorced; I’m doing architecture again, and slowly getting my life and self-esteem back.

Until recently, Joss was still letting the illusion of our marriage stay intact. Now that it is finally public, I want to let women know that he is not who he pretends to be. I want the people who worship him to know he is human, and the organizations giving him awards for his feminist work, to think twice in the future about honoring a man who does not practice what he preaches. But no matter what happens, or how people interpret this statement, I no longer have to carry the burden of Joss’ long-term deceit and confessions. I am free.

    • Kai’s accusations are quite damning. The guy is a hypocrite, cheater and liar.

And he’s been absolutely quiet on Twitter since this story came out. Nothing trying to defend himself or deny her claim.

      He’s a loser.

  5. It’s Hollywood! Does everyone expect better of that class of people? If so, you’re always going to be disappointed.

  6. I have known people like this. It’s all about “me”. To some extent, I could say the same about her. Why would any of us care one whit about this self-serving little manipulator?

Why would anyone want to know about her “struggle” with PTSD? The get involved with people because they want to join the “ME, ME” crowd. There seems to be an abundant supply of stupid people just chomping at the bit for “leadership”. The all need to grow up.

  7. “Hell hath no fury…”
Is anybody else surprised to find it was women he was cheating with?
I just pray to God it wasn’t Sarah or Michelle or Alyson or one of the other scooby-bunnies from Buffy that he was boffing. Please, let it have been one of the older set-hands. Yeah, I was a Watcher. Angel too.

  8. What is wrong with his HEAD?? He looks like one of the aliens in the B-movie “This Island Earth”! Did his head get stuck in a PVC pipe as a baby?!? He looks like the proverbial ‘Dick Hedd”.

  9. I watched Buffy and Angel too, please, please let it not have been with the Scoobies. The wife mentions his creepy inappropriate emotional affairs with cast members too, I think it reads throughout his shows, a creepy fest feeling about how certain females are portrayed, like they are being feasted upon, Buffy, Willow, Faith, Fred. – dunno obsession with their vulnerability perhaps? – I’ve dislike Joss Whedon for a long time now, but now I feel sick.
