You shut up! No, you shut up!

Pride goes before a fall

Sometimes it just doesn’t pay to be focused on how big you are.

  2. I saw a version of this joke in a book I have, 3000 Jokes! So, it’s not really true but still funny.

  3. I reluctantly admit that was funny, but how I hate to see our navy the object of it. Shouldn’t the lighthouse have identified at self as such? Shouldn’t our navy been able to see, visually or electronically, the lighthouse? Spend a few bucks, fit the vessel with a Garmin GPS. Recalculating, recalculating …

    • It’s just a parody of a joke, that’s all. I doubt it actually happened.

      • I did not recognize it first, but it has all the signs of a war story, some of which brought jokes from subordinates at the expense of superiors. One that comes to mind is from a relative who was Ann officer in a B52 in Vietnam. A general took the controls and was told to go right but the general did the opposite, etc. … Finally, those crew gave him a pair of gloves and m a deep him wear them. On the left glove was the letter “L”, on the right, “R”. The general became irate but his threats stopped when the crew declared they all would give statements telling what happened. What even officers will make up as they contribute to the fog of war.
