One pic shows American Federation of Teachers is monolithically Left

American Federation of Teachers (AFT) describes itself as:

The American Federation of Teachers, an affiliate of the AFL-CIO, was founded in 1916 and today represents 1.6 million members in more than 3,000 local affiliates nationwide.

Five divisions within the AFT represent the broad spectrum of the AFT’s membership: pre-K through 12th-grade teachers; paraprofessionals and other school-related personnel; higher education faculty and professional staff; federal, state and local government employees; and nurses and other healthcare professionals. In addition, the AFT represents approximately 80,000 early childhood educators and nearly 250,000 retiree members.

AFT publishes the quarterly journal American Educator.

Below is the pic that is on the front page of the latest, Summer 2017 issue of American Educator. Note the pink pussy hat, the Obama t-shirt, and the signs held by the public school teachers:

  • Black Lives Matter
  • DeVos: Public Schools Enemy No. 1 (Betsy DeVos is the Trump administration’s Secretary of Education)
  • To America’s 1st Russian Prez: Where’s Your Birth Certificate

Teachers are supposed to be objective and impartial. But like America’s journalists, they are rabidly partisan and biased. (See “Harvard University study finds MSM coverage of President Trump overwhelmingly negative”)

Just remember we are paying teachers like those in the pic with our tax dollars.

If you vote for any bond measures to funnel even more tax dollars to your local and state public schools, you are aiding and abetting AFT’s indoctrination and infesting of America’s young with their filthy Marxist ideology.

  1. I retired from the USAF in 1998 and started teaching in public high school in 2003. I was shocked at the push to have me join the teacher’s union. When I refused, I was virtually blackballed and denied tenure when my time came.

When you visit the teacher’s union web site, be sure to take a look at the schedule of events at their annual conference. There is nothing to do with education and hundreds of speakers and workshops concerning homosexuality, transgenders, social justice and income equality. There are also workshops oi how to pressure your local community to give more money to the public school system.

I could go on but I think you get the idea.

    • Conclusion: NEVER vote for any bond measure for more money to your city’s and state’s public schools. Doing so only aids and abets their Marxist indoctrination of America’s young.

      • Last year our school district wanted a 3.8% increase of their multi-million dollar budget. In the public comment time, I asked the following questions and made the following challenge.

“Why does the district school administrator make more than the governor of our state?”

“Since ALL of our schools in the district are rated as low Cs, Ds and Fs, can you please site for me a valid study which directly correlates an increase in funding to an increase in school performance?”

“Why has the criteria for grading schools changed every year since they started? Could it be they are searching for a way to raise the grades without raising performance?”

“Why does the average home school student SMOKE the publicly educated student when they only spend a minuscule fraction on each student?”

“How much money do you need in order to guarantee each of our schools will perform at a B level or better?”

Here is my challenge to the superintendent, ” Tell me the exact amount of money you need to raise ALL of our schools to a C or better in 5 years. If we give you the money and you fail, will you resign immediately from your 6 figure income?”

I was escorted from the assembly.

    • From their upcoming annual conference in July:

July 22nd: “Lunch/Closing Plenary: Fostering Cultures of Collaboration.” As if they care one ounce about collaboration…

      From their Boot Camps:

Restorative Practices: “Fostering Positive School Climate and Culture (repeat)Restorative practices can help to lead schools and their communities away from harsh, counterproductive, zero-tolerance environments.” And yet they have zero-tolerance for anything that is not in line with their progressive agenda.

Aligning MS and HS Science Lessons to the Next Generation Science Standards: “See how students can engage in an argument from evidence and make connections of cause and effect as well as stability and change.” Argument from evidence? Hahahahahahahaha.

Teaching Democratic Citizenship when Democracy Is in Crisis: “…and analyzing how they can be leveraged on behalf of a solution or reform, to developing the tools of civic conversation and persuasion.” Proggies prove every day they have no desire for civic conversations.

Typical proggies…do as I say, not as I do.

  3. It’s taken a very long time, but fundamental, and radical, at-the-root, change is happening in society: The demographics are changing. America is not necessarily becoming more “conservative,” but more populist. This means we are becoming more parochial, more specialized.
The mass homogenization of America is not over yet, but let’s read the writing on the wall: The fakestream media’s monopoly on our “thought-mass” is over. It has lost its monopoly. The alt-right is on the ascendancy. Holistic medicine is on the rise. Less and less people trust their Congressmen.
And in the four special elections since Donald Trump’s election victory, every Democrat lost.
So this all means that the writing is on the wall for public education. The AFT is going to lose its monopoly: These leftist sons of bitches will retire and be gone in less than 20 years—they will retire, and, more important, they are contracepting and aborting themselves out of existence. So it’s all a matter of time.
The real threat comes from the communist Left, which, up until even now, still maintains its ability to spew out its Leninist-Trotskyist agit-prop. But their influence itself will wane over time, even if President Trump is impeached tomorrow. I believe we are witnessing Strunk & Howe’s “Fourth Turning,” and I believe that demographics is behind the movement, a movement I would definitely call a circling of the drain.

So let’s keep in mind the history of it in a nutshell. Yes, liberals invaded politics, the news media, judgeships and the like. But they also invaded education, and this is where they did the Lion’s Share of the damage. Yes, television and psychiatry helped. But only education had the monopoly of “moral suasion” over a captive majority of the population, that moral suasion which is now threatened by what is now reaching critical mass.
I would also like to add the critically important element of crime in education. While I was a teacher, I witnessed criminal activity on the part of adults in two different schools. Then-Mayor Guiliani had to fight tooth-and-nail for almost four years to have the NYPD gain control over school security, but he finally achieved it. I’m not talking about the illicit romance between a security guard and a student; I’m talking about gang activity and drug trafficking. For before Guiliani wrested control of school security, the rule at that time (very important) was that no policeman could enter a school building without the principal’s permission. This rule gave adult criminal activity an effective shield.
This is not to say that this shield protected the teachers’ union, or that the teachers’ union’s members preferred this rule; This is to say that the weight of the leftist-populist movement of the teachers’ union as a whole wielded tremendous influence. That influence will wane. So this cover of their little rag is, effectively, their swan song.
And the little commie bastards don’t even know it. (Hint: They’re NOT anything resembling “Christian.”)

  8. When you look at the riff raff depicted in this picture . . . can you honestly say that you would want any one of these persons to teach your child? NO, I thought not. I am dumbfounded at the looks of today’s teachers . . . every time I drive by the grade school I attended, which is four blocks from where I live, you see what passes for a public school teacher in today’s world. They look dirty, slovenly, ill dressed, completely non-professional looking . . . they look very much like the homeless people we have here in Portland, Oregon. I think it is shameful that today’s youth do not have well groomed people to look up to. Today’s parents really do need to home school if at all possible. Do not let the school’s of today pollute your children. We just passed another huge school measure (don’t look at me, I voted “NO”) supposedly to upgrade various schools around the city. The school board has not put any monies into school buildings, now it comes as a dumbfounding surprise that our buildings are on the verge of crumbling to the ground . . . the reason they are in such sad shape is that the school boards has sucked every nickel out of their budgets to put into teacher’s pay, benefits, and pensions. We have among some of our school graduates people who are basically illiterate, they cannot read, write, do basic math, and are unsuitable to be amongst those who are employed. I always vote “NO,” but the Socialists in this area are able to outvote us.

    • So true, Auntie Lulu. It’s not just public school teachers. College professors also “dress down”. I can’t remember the last time I saw a male prof wear a tie or suit. I’ve often wondered what female profs and school teachers, whose salaries are not nickle-and-dime, do with the money they make because they surely don’t spend it on professional-looking clothes.

Notice one of the teachers holding a Black Lives Matters signs.Well Department of Justice statistics 80 to 90 % of crimes are commited by other Black People. That’s a reason why i’d homeschool my children.Because yes White Lives Matter(I’m not with or don’t support the KKK,because The KKK was formed at the top by Jews and Scottish Rite of Freemasonry)

  11. There are over 3.6 million teachers, so this teachers group represents less than half. There are many teachers out there who believe in teaching students how to be true thinkers and learners. Please don’t bash all teachers. We are the last defense of conservativism in many young people’s lives. DCG- yes the wording is weird on some of the standards but what they are really asking students to do is look at something that they can observe, explain it and design a way to test their thinking. It is way better than -name all the parts of a flower. Finally science will be about understanding how things really work and not just memorizing a list. You don’t get to the moon by generating a list of things someone else discovered. Please pray for the conservative teachers. It is getting more and more hostile out in the trenches.
