Unborn babies in womb distinguish between human faces and other shapes

But, but, how can this be?

Aren’t we told by the pro-choice pro-aborts that the unborn are not human persons but mere inert lumps of the woman’s body tissue, akin to toenails?

Samuel Alexander, 21 weeks, clutches the finger of surgeon Joseph Bruner.

Sarah Knapton reports for The Telegraph, June 8, 2017, that new research by scientists at Lancaster University, published in the journal Current Biology, found that unborn babies in their mothers’ wombs not only can distinguish between human faces and other shapes, but display an attraction to and preference for human faces.

The researchers shone dots of light through the uterus wall of 39 expectant mothers who were 34 weeks (8 months) pregnant:

  • When the dots of light were arranged to look like the eyes and mouth of a human face, the babies turned their heads to look at it.
  • When the dots of light were arranged as a random shape or to make the face look upside down and so harder to recognize as a human face, the unborn babies did not react.

The finding suggests that the instinct to recognize facial features develops before a baby, after birth, has actually seen a face for the first time. The research also shows that, by 8 months old, an unborn baby’s senses are already well developed and parents should begin interacting with their child while he/she is still in the womb.

Professor Vincent Reid, a psychologist at Lancaster University who led the research, said:

“We know from babies that they prefer to look at faces more than any other stimulus. We have now shown that the foetus can distinguish between different shapes, preferring to track face-like over non-face-like shapes. The foetus in the third trimester actively seeks out information. In our study they had to move their head to keep looking at the face-like stimulus when we moved it away from them. So they are active participants in finding information from the environment. What this means is that other ways of interacting with the fetus can be considered. The foetus in the third trimester can hear very well. I would encourage expecting parents to read books out loud to each other. This can help with bonding and could be beneficial.”

Professor Reid said the research finding suggests unborn babies are already hardwired to recognize human faces and that “It is possible that the maternal rib cage could introduce variation in light penetrating the womb and this may be enough visual information to create this bias” for faces.

But Dr. Reid warned that expecting mothers should avoid shining bright lights through their abdomen in case they damage their unborn child’s eyes.

Just remember that Barack & “Michael” Michelle Obama, as well as Hillary Clinton, all favor women’s unrestricted access to abortion, including legally-sanctioned late-term abortions, i.e., the  murder of unborn babies in their third trimester, up to 9 months old.

Time to part the waves of reality. If we return to the thinking of Obama, Tom Perez and the Democats – our way of life will return to the days of barbarism which is their plan.

  2. Legal abortion = murder = legalized murder.

Planned Parenthood performs over 300,000 abortions a year so they murder over 300,000 babies a year…………legally.

  3. For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother‘s womb.14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.15 My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.17 How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! 4. The link below may prove helpful to readers in relation to how the Talmudists view babies. This will explain WHY Norma McCorvey (an apparently disturbed woman of Roe V. Wade infamy, who later disavowed her role in that lawsuit) was used by Sarah Ragle Weddington to bring the suit. Weddington herself had gone to Mexico in the 1960s, while in law school, to obtain an illegal abortion.
****The reasoning used by the U.S. Supreme Court in Roe v. Wade dovetails precisely with Talmudic Halakha and thus, enshrined Jewish Halakha in the United States Constitution.****

From the U.S. National Library of Medicine – National Institutes of Health (taxpayer funded) I suggest reading the ENTIRE abstract because it gets into ‘viability’ of a child AFTER it is born as well.
“The beginning of human life: Status of embryo. Perspectives in Halakha (Jewish Religious Law)” by Joseph Schenker.

[Disregard the paragraph under the subheading “Torah” wherein the author mentions “St. Augustine and other early Christian authorities.” The authority of Individual Church Fathers, such as St. Augustine does NOT constitute the Church’s magisterium. Schenker is patently incorrect regarding the relegation of unbaptized infant souls to “perdition,” aka hell, by the early Catholic Church in its magisterial teaching. The Church’s magisterial teaching, pre and post-Augustine, is the souls of unbaptized infants are in limbo or in a place of natural happiness, who do not suffer, but who do not enjoy the beatific vision. http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/09256a.htm.%5D

Also. the encyclopedia link below discusses the Roe v. Wade case with some specificity. Although the Supremes hung their hat on the right to “privacy” when rendering the ruling in Roe v. Wade, some of the language of the ruling, excerpted below, sounds as though the Supremes were referring to Jewish Halakha while deliberating and while rendering the ruling.
An excerpt –“The Court did not accept arguments that the fetus be regarded as a person within the meaning of the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment, which declares that no state shall “deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law” (§ 1). “There is no medical or scientific proof that life is present from conception,” wrote the Court. [W]e need not resolve the difficult question of when life begins, when those trained in the respective fields of medicine, philosophy and theology are unable to arrive at any consensus. The judiciary at this point in the…
Development of man’s knowledge is not in a position to speculate as to the answer.”
“In addition, population growth, pollution, poverty, and racial overtones tend to complicate and not to simplify the problem.
Our task, of course, is to resolve the issue by constitutional measurement free of emotion and predilection.”

Justice Rehnquist, in his dissent, wrote in part, “I have difficulty in concluding, as the Court does, that the right of ‘privacy’ is involved in this case,” he wrote. “The decision here to break pregnancy into three distinct terms and to outline the permissible restrictions the State may impose in each one, for example, partakes more of judicial legislation than it does of a determination of the intent of the drafters of the Fourteenth Amendment.”

  7. This wonderful article sheds light on the perception that a fetus is capable of, and thus anyone with a modicum of intelligence should be able to comprehend that Abortion is simply M-U-R-D-E-R. As long as this land maintains this evil practice as being “the law of this land,” our nation will continue to have a horrible blot hanging over us.

  9. there is so much we don’t (and will never) know…it amazes me how pro-death people can be so intellectually trite with life….they believe their knowledge is a means to an end; but in reality, knowledge is and will always be, limited. One thing is certain, God gave us a certain amount of knowledge about life as a blessing, and those who choose to kill babies are rejecting God’s blessing and have rejected that knowledge.
