Judge says California prisons must provide ‘transgenders’ with special underwear and jewelry

AP (via ABC7) reports that on April 28, 2017, U.S. District Judge Jon Tigar issued an order that California prison officials must:

(1) Provide free chest-flattening undergarments called binders or compression tops to female-to-male (FtM) “transgender” inmates in women’s prisons:

Currently, corrections officials allow FtM “transgender” inmates to buy the specialty undergarments — a practice that Tigar said “effectively” denies those items to inmates who could not afford them.

(2) Provide bracelets, earrings, nightgowns and scarfs to male-to-female (MtF) “transgender” inmates in men’s prisons:

Currently, California prison officials allow MtF “transgender” inmates in men’s prisons to have sandals, t-shirts and walking shoes. Judge Tigar’s ruling expands that list to include pajamas, nightgowns, robes and scarves, rejecting the corrections department’s argument that those items could be altered to resemble street clothes, thereby aid in escape attempts.

Although another judge had ruled that earrings, bracelets, hair brushes and hair clips could pose safety concerns in men’s prisons, Judge Tigar, noting that women’s prisons allow those items, said the items could be made from materials such as rubber that didn’t create safety risks.

Tigar’s ruling is part of a federal lawsuit by a convicted murderer, MtF ‘transgender’ inmate Shiloh Heavenly Quine, 57, who is serving a life sentence for murder, kidnapping and robbery. The lawsuit had led California to become the first state to provide taxpayer-funded sex reassignment genital mutilation surgery to an inmate — Quine, who had “sex reassignment” surgery this January, after which the biological male was transferred from a men’s facility to a women’s prison in Chowchilla.

Prison officials said they are reviewing Judge Tigar’s ruling.

Tigar is another Obama gift that keeps on giving.

Jon S. Tigar, 55, was born in London, England. On June 11, 2012, Tigar was nominated by Obama to be a judge on the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. On December 21, 2012, the Senate confirmed his nomination by unanimous consent; Tigar received his commission on January 18, 2013.

  4. Hey,if California wants to do that-fine,feel free to kiss their feet, ass or whatever, give ’em whatever the “Judge” thinks they need. But they’ll have to do it on THEIR dime-don’t expect the rest of America to support it.

  6. This is total BS from a lunatic judge that doesn’t even know prison rules. Prisons have basic dress codes and they don’t allow all the said above. They could be made into weapons for one thing.
Jails go in and do toss downs to check for such items and even take clothes away that have been altered. This should be really appreciated by all the guards.

  8. Yet another one of obama’s anti-Christian/anti-family plants that is the proverbial herpetic “gift” that just keeps on “giving”.
You think obama’s gone and then he erupts with another one of his judicial vesicles called “tigar” to shed and infect his legal lesions onto the CA taxpayer. This fool should be disrobed, disbarred, and quarantined from those with common sense.
All this “free” stuff and attention are just more reasons criminals can’t wait to get into CA prisons. it’s like they hit the lottery…murder someone in CA and you get “free” lawsuits, “free” jewelry, “free” sex change, “free” fake hormones, “free”, “free”, “free”.
One lawsuit after another…the only ones benefiting from this are the lawyers/judges…the trannies are just useful idiots.

    • MomOfIV . . . . . . As usual, you have hit it out of the ballpark. This is so twisted, it is unimaginable! I agree 100% with everything you wrote. It is outrageous that taxpayers should have to pay for earrings for transgender persons . . . for cryin” out loud–do they pay for straight females jewelry? I don’t think so. The Congress needs to withhold monies (salaries) to those judges who are out of their minds, and are giving rulings that impinge on the “rights of the taxpayers!

      • thank you dear Auntie for your kind words…
I think you’re on to something with “do they pay for straight females jewelry? I don’t think so.”
I wouldn’t be surprised if male and female inmates filed a class-action lawsuit based on discrimination for preferential treatment of trannies….
that “judge” seems very taken with tranny causes.

  10. Follow this to a logical conclusion ………………….Next thing on the wish list , dildos funded by the taxpayer . After all , after they have their re-ASSingment surgery …..( paid by the taxpayer , of course ) …some shyster lawyer will come up with the idea they ought to have congical visitation rights .
And who gets screwed in the end , the taxpayer of course , they wouldn’t have it any other way .

  11. That’s Federal prison for you…club fed. A judge should not interfere in correction’s decisions re security and dress code rules as long as they are administered fairly and equally to all inmates. Jewelry, scarves, chest binders are not a necessity. Earrings and some jewelry can be made into weapons and so can scarves, as someone noted above.
