Proverbs 28:4 – a study in contrasts

Those who forsake instruction praise the wicked, but those who heed it resist them.
– Proverbs 28:4

In this proverb we have a contrast that gives a picture of how our behavior either supports or resists the wicked. As I read it the other day I immediately thought of the rioters in Berkeley and other campuses and cities, contrasted to the nobility of most of our volunteer soldiers.

The willful ignorance of law in academia, media, courts and government today enables the wicked among us. But adherence to the rule of law stands in resistance against our enemies, foreign and domestic.

This is why you never see conservatives rioting;
demonstrations and riots are not in our bag of tricks.
