Pedogate: Former judge and Trump’s campaign chair in Kentucky arrested for child sex trafficking

We are told pedophiles come in all bi-partisan varieties, including pillars of the community such as judges, police officers, teachers, and doctors.

The recent arrest of Tim Nolan, a 70-year-old former district judge and former chair of Trump’s campaign, is a case in point.

Scott Wartman reports for, April 21, 2017, that the arrest of former Kentucky Campbell County District Judge Tim Nolan on charges of human trafficking and unlawful transaction with a minor has shocked the community.

Nolan, 70, was a district judge in the 1970s and 1980s. He is outspoken in conservative politics and the tea party movement, and was elected to the Campbell County School Board last November. He was also the chairman of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign in Campbell County.

Court documents don’t give much detail about the incident or incidents that led to the charges. This much we do know, according to the criminal complaint:

  • In August 2016, Nolan gave alcohol to and induced a minor of unspecified age into illegal sexual activity.
  • In February 2017, Campbell County Police served a search warrant on Nolan’s property in southern Campbell County.

The case presents a tricky situation for the legal community due to Nolan being a former Campbell County District Judge and his daughter, Taunya Nolan Jack, is the Campbell County Circuit Court Clerk.

To avoid conflicts of interests, a special judge from out of the area, District Court Judge Elizabeth Chandler from Carroll County, is presiding over the case and all court documents are being filed in Boone County. The attorney general’s office is prosecuting.

It is not clear what action the Campbell County School Board will take. Chairwoman Janis Winbigler referred all questions to the district office, saying, “We’re just learning about this. The board is immensely troubled by this.” Superintendent David Rust did not immediately return calls for comment.

The arrest has some veteran lawyers and judges scratching their heads. Retired family court judge Mickey Foellger who, as an attorney in the Campbell County attorney’s office, had worked with Nolan, said Nolan had a reputation as being a strict judge that “leaned to the tougher” side of sentencing. Foellger said, “I can’t imagine what he did. I don’t want to speculate. It’s mind-boggling that he would be with an underage girl.”

On April 21, Nolan was released on $50,000 bond and placed on an ankle monitor. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on May 5.

  1. It’s a crazy world alright. We have ben hearing how the elite pedophile rings include many powerful people. This may be a case in point.

But what if the accusations are false? Crimes against children are so awful, so inflammatory, that we are easily moved into a mob mentality. What a perfect political smear on a local conservative.

    • Good point, TD, although the Franklin child sex-ring scandal of 1988-1991 which involved GOP élites in Washington, D.C., and Nebraska’s Boys Town and assorted prominent citizens, amply shows Republicans are also pedophiles.

      • Pedophiles are attracted to pre-pubescent children. Boy’s Town, etc., involved teens. That’s not pedophilia.

Adults wanting sex with teens isn’t a sickness, it’s just improper (outside of marriage). Otherwise all of our ancestors who took 15-year-old wives over the centuries were sickos.

        • Just how do you know the former judge Tim Nolan’s victims are teens? Do you have court sources to which we are not privy? Cite them.

I don’t appreciate your minimizing sexual molestation of teens — an age group that ranges from THIRTEEN to 19. The law defines them as MINORS for a reason. If you have problem with that, change the law.

As a judge, former or not, Nolan’s first responsibility is to uphold and observe the law of the land, but you are making excuses for him? If Nolan were a Democrat, would you still defend him?

I’ve seen a lot of cases involving s3x crimes with “children” from the lawyer’s side, and even as a stout Christian conservative, I’m often more sickened by the prosecution than the crime.

Look at this photo for a moment:

This is the infamous “Cash me outside” girl, the blatantly s1utty and obnoxious 13-year-old who became infamous after appearing on the Dr. Phil show last year. A few points:

She is the one purposefully thrusting her goods at the camera for all of Facebook to see. If she did the same thing in private, and offered to let a man squeeze her tush (while she’s still dressed) in exchange for alcohol, is she a victim?
If the man took her up on her offer, he will have just committed a s3x crime with a minor, will serve a sentence, and have to register publicly as a s3x offender, with all the shame and inconvenience that that brings.
I’ve seen men go to jail for having photographs not unlike those I just shared. The crime? “Ch!ld” pr0nogaphy”. Yes, men go to jail for possessing photos of CLOTHED minors if the minors are posed in a “provocative” or “suggestive” manner.
I’ve seen another man go to jail for arranging a Craigslist meeting for s3x with a 14-year-old (was actually a police officer). He drove to the parking lot of the restaurant where they were to meet, then CHANGED HIS MIND and drove away without even pulling into a parking space. Registered s3x offender.
A 16 year old girl had a habit of flirting and coming on to her new stepdad, who always resisted her advances. Eventually, wanting to borrow his Corvette, she bribed him with n00d Polaroids of herself, that SHE took (literally she was producing “ch!ld” pr0n) in the privacy of her bedroom (he never saw her n@ked in real life). He let her borrow his car, but later, when he appropriately grounded his stepdaughter for misbehavior, she alerted the authorities to her “abuse”. He did jail time and is a registered s3x offender.

These are just the tip of the iceberg, and they are incredibly common. Men’s reputations, careers, personal lives, finances all being ruined because they were such MONSTERS that they would dare do such wicked things to innocent little chldren who had NO IDEA what was happening to them or why…./sarc, as you often say.

So, I’m not saying that the girl positively was a teen floozy, who asked for s3x, I’m saying that this man may have done something virtually innocuous to a grown woman who just happens to be treated by the courts as if she were still in her diapers, and those of you judging him without knowing any details (this comment section is a great example) are in danger of winding up on the wrong side of Jesus’ warning that you will be judged by God with the same measure of judgment that you use for others.

The same can be said about you — for judging and condemning the commenters on this thread, even though you have no knowledge or evidence how old the minors are whom Tim Nolan molested.

              • It looks like we’re on the same page, then. I had removed the words “of you” from my response, but a copy-paste error reinserted them.

I’m still curious to hear what you and others think of the not-so-monstrous crimes I described, and whether society’s extreme condemnation is warranted.

Pulling others down to make oneself feel good is usually a leftist tactic. Christians also can become victim to this type of pride. Righteous indignation is fine, but we mustn’t let it cross the line into spite.

  2. That is so depressing. Why can’t men get control of their damn selves, ugh. You’d think by that age, 70, they would have done some soul searching, sought counseling, etc. But if he’s part of “the dark pedo networks,” then they probably seriously don’t give a hoot.

What a sad pitiful face on that guy… Or is that an ever so slight smirk? I don’t know whether to feel remorse for him as a severely lost sinner, or despise him as a pedo.

  3. This pedo bastard has been hiding under his robe for so long, now that he doesn’t wear the robe he feels free to do what he has always had in his mind and now has come to light. It didn’t happen overnight, these cockroaches had kept their secret so well hidden, He should be applied the harshest punishment, sit and rot in jail.

  6. As River City News reports: Kentucky Attorney General Andy Beshear announced that Nolan is charged with human trafficking (a class B felony), first degree unlawful transaction with a minor (a class C felony), and third degree unlawful transaction with a minor (a class A misdemeanor). Beshear’s Special Prosecution Division is handling the case. The division is responsible for assisting local prosecutors in complex or sensitive cases, as well as, handle cases in which local prosecutors recuse themselves.

It is unclear as of yet, just who Nolan’s customers were. However, there were many of them, as his charges include the note that the child was subjected to “commercial sexual activity.”

  7. If true, thank goodness he was arrested. How many more were ignored or eyes turned away because it might be too close to home?

  8. I hope he cooperates with investigators and names other high profile people associated with sex trafficking of minors, and how he became involved in the first place. These men, whose judgement is flawed, are prime targets to be controlled, hence subject to deliberate entrapment. If found guilty, his family should be allowed to benefit from any emoluments due to him. This kind of activity is a common place occurrence, every single day – poor, disadvantaged girls are fodder for the out of town “event” crowd, as well as the overseas sex tourism industry. Horrible.

  9. Kentucky Attorney General Andy Beshear, the man who brought charges against Nolan, is son of the immediate-past Governor of KY, Steve Beshear. You may recognize the name as the man who delivered the Democrats’ response to Trump’s first address to the joint houses of Congress back in February of this year… he said, “I’m a proud Democrat, but first and foremost, I’m a proud Republican, and Democrat, and mostly American.” {} Yeah, real genius. Not hard to imagine his son going after a staunch Republican conservative in the state who may have prosecuted certain friends of the family or Democrats or liberals at large over the years; Tolan had quite a hateful following.
Not saying the charges are false, just saying consider the source… no need to string him up until he’s had his due process, been tried, and convicted. Anyone today can be hauled to jail and have stories posted based on mere allegations of another, regardless of any truth or examination of the charges. For that matter, I wonder how Beshear’s son, or Cuomo’s or Biden’s became state AGs in the same states their fathers had been governors. And of course, Cuomo 2 is also now governor of the Empire State. (And no, I don’t approve of Ivanka and Jared serving official posts in their father’s admin.)

  10. Using the word “pedophile” in this story is a bit strong. In all likelihood, the man found a 16 or 17 year old who offered oral sex in exchange for booze. If the girl was also willing to do it for one of Nolan’s buddies, and Nolan arranged the meeting, that would be enough for the “human trafficking” charge, which in KY treats even two-bit pimps as traffickers.

I’d be surprised if the story didn’t involve a delinquent teen who tempted an old man with offers of naughty pleasures to obtain alcohol. Then, after he had a change of heart and didn’t want a part of it anymore, she turned on him out of spite.
