An Answer to the Fear Mongers

There is money to be made by spinning fear and selling bandaids

Prudence and preparedness are always good, but there are some cleaver people who have learned how exploit you through terror.

Psalm 11 addresses the problem succinctly with the answer that God sees the whole thing and is still in control. The words in blue are the psalmist, and the ones in red are the voice of fear.

Psalm 11

(psalmist)
In the Lord I take refuge.
How then can you say to me:

(fear mongers)
“Flee like a bird to your mountain.

For look, the wicked bend their bows;
they set their arrows against the strings
to shoot from the shadows
at the upright in heart.
When the foundations are being destroyed,
what can the righteous do?”

(psalmist)
The Lord is in his holy temple;
the Lord is on his heavenly throne.
He observes everyone on earth;
his eyes examine them.
The Lord examines the righteous,
but the wicked, those who love violence,
he hates with a passion.
On the wicked he will rain
fiery coals and burning sulfur;
a scorching wind will be their lot.
For the Lord is righteous,
he loves justice;
the upright will see his face.

Peace to you,

  1. Made my hair stand and tears well. SO TRUE!

    This is the essence of “faith”. And with faith comes “courage” to do what’s necessary, what’s righteous”, to right the wrongs in the very face of death, itself.

  2. Thank you, TD. I have been feeling sort of depressed lately with all the negativity and hate – I mean it’s palpable – you can feel it. So, I thank you for an alignment back to center and a reminder to not lose hope. It will all be OK. My bible tells me so. 🙂

  4. TD . . . thank you for bringing to us the very words we needed to take heed of. Although, Trump was elected . . . we see on the right side, and the left side, and all around the minions of Satan trying to destroy our peace of mind. The only answer is to exercise faith in Our God, and we will have the peace we seek.

    Yes: “When the foundations are destroyed, What can the righteous do?” Sometimes I catch myself and realize that even Michael Savage, Mark Levin and even Alex Jones himself go off the deep end every once in a while. I have to catch myself and accept that although I cannot see the entire thing at once, God Himself sees the end from the beginning, and that living through the crisis is the gauntlet I must endure and walk through.

  6. Wonderful post TD!
    I constantly remind my children that there is one thing NO ONE can take from them and that is their faith. The world (satan) cannot take your faith, but they can convince you to give it up…as many have done so freely, to their eternal detriment and damnation.
    Stay strong in the Lord and trust in Him and Him only.
