Trump fulfills 3 promises in first day of work as POTUS, including defund International Planned Parenthood

A year ago, his ex-wife Ivana told us Donald Trump keeps his promises.

In both his GOP nomination acceptance speech and in his presidential inauguration speech, Trump said to the millions of Americans who had voted for him, “I will never let you down”.

And he isn’t.

Today, in his first full day of work as President of the United States of America, Donald John Trump has already fulfilled three of the promises he had made.

(1) End taxpayer funding of overseas pro-abortion groups

A day after the 44th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, Trump signed an executive order today reinstating the “Mexico City Policy” banning government funding of organizations that perform abortions overseas or lobby for legalizing them in foreign nations, such as the International Planned Parenthood Federation.

First enacted by President Ronald Reagan in 1984 and maintained by President George H.W. Bush, the Mexico City Policy was rescinded by President Bill Clinton in 1993. The policy was reinstated by President George W. Bush, only to be reversed by Barack Obama upon entering office in 2009.

At the first official White House press conference this afternoon, Trump spokesman Sean Spicer said that reinstating the Mexico City Policy illustrates to the people of the United States “and to people of the world…what a value we place on life.” He said it is consistent with Trump, who campaigned as a “pro-life president” and who “wants to stand up for all Americans including the unborn,” and ensure taxpayer funding is ”reflecting American values,” including the respect for life.

(2) Withdraw from the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP)

Trump calls the TPP, Obama’s signature trade deal, a bad deal for American workers. Obama had never submitted the TPP for Congress’ approval, fearing that a defeat in Congress would be worse than leaving the deal in hibernation. Under the TPP, the U.S. and 11 other nations along the Pacific Rim, including Canada, Mexico, Japan, Vietnam, Malaysia and Australia, would create a free-trade zone with lower tariffs for about 40% of the world’s economy. Critics say the pact would benefit wealthy corporations at the expense of American workers and the environment.

(3) A hiring freeze in the federal work force

The hiring freeze drew immediate fire from J. David Cox Sr, the president of American Federation of Government Employees union. It is curious why Cox is on the war path since almost a third of federal works — 28% — had said they “will definitely or possibly consider leaving after Jan. 20 when Trump is sworn into office and becomes leader of the executive branch,” according to new survey conducted by Government Executive. The same survey also found that almost two-thirds of federal employees had voted for Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election.

Aides also signaled that President Trump may move quickly on renegotiating the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), which critics blame for lost jobs and lower wages. Trump has scheduled meetings with the leaders of Canada and Mexico, the two main partners in NAFTA, which was first negotiated by George H.W. Bush and pushed through Congress by Bill Clinton.

  2. I see nothing wrong with these so far. I expect to see some serious cut backs all over. It may be painful in the beginning, but the results should show promise.
If the 28% federal workers that threatened to quit actually do, the number of federal employees should just about right the numbers, taking care of all the redundant positions.
DC is heavy in over employment while many bases are under staffed.

  4. I am thrilled with what Trump has done so far. If there were any hope of his turning around our country . . . he was the only hope we had. I way go Trump, Go! I am glad he pulled us out of the TransPac deal . . . all these partnerships, and low n behold the US of A is always left sucking the hind tit, so to speak.

On a side note: I was glad that Chelsea Clinton spoke up for Barron Trump, up until she wrote that his (Barron’s) father’s ideas may hurt other little children. (It would seem that the escapades of Slick Willy in Haiti when he was supposed to be getting money together to help Haitian children–but lined the pockets of his brother in law, and others.) She must not consider that the very poorest of poor children were harmed by his thieving ways!

  6. A president that actually keeps his campaign promises?
A YUGE threat to the Political Establishment! No wonder the Dems are going bonkers and the RINOs charging at every imagined threat to their do-nothing existence and sucking up to the Lib Media.
if he does half of what he says, the Dems that work, have a farm or business, or even own their homes will have to rethink their “Party Loyalty”
2018 Mid-terms are going to be a massacre for the.Lib/Prog Globalist Socialists.
And these stupid demonstrators think they are winning voters with their lies, hysteria, and phony threats?

  9. Trump carries himself and conducts himself LIKE A BOSS!

And his Executive Order ending all funding for Planned Parenthood Int’l. is an extremely important first step in the pro-life direction. No mere “cheap symbolism,” this goes to correct American foreign policy of foreign aid being tied to the commitment of contraception and abortion in foreign nations we donate to—a policy dating to LBJ and continued by Nixon and others.

I am really enjoying the leftist loonies melt down over President Trump’s pronouncements and actions so far. (Too bad they can’t melt down inside a NUCLEAR REACTOR!) ALSO ON TAP: President Trump has signaled he will not enforce the individual mandate of the Affordable Care Act—which he has also begun to deconstruct. He has also taken on Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. to look into vaccine safety, and I have also read he is looking into ending the disbursement of chemtrails.

Many have written of the importance of Woodrow Wilson to the Presidency itself, as he became the paradigm for others to follow, in policy if not in style. It seems to me that in Donald Trump, we have another Theodore Roosevelt on the loose, and it is CRUCIAL that we have a maverick like Trump at this time, given the damage of the past almost 30 years.

Thank God for Donald Trump! Now go after Hillary Clinton before she croaks!!

  10. I hope he takes advantage of the “trial period” for all the new Obama-hires to kick them to the curb.

As a matter of fact, I hope he nixes all of the executive orders since the election, and most of them from before…

    • As the saying goes,”Even a stopped clock is right twice a day.”,so I’d prefer that he and his Cabinet review every one of those EO’s,and dump any of ’em that serve to work against America’s success.
It’d also please me to see him declare publicly that the Bill of Rights, and all the individual Rights within it,must be adhered to in the honest spirit with which they were originally written. (NOT re-interpreted,like the Left is so inclined to do…)

  14. Great rundown of President Trump’s first day! That man deserves a “raise” for such hard work on his first day on the job. Since he’s not taking a salary as President, we’ll have to think of some other “reward.” How about re-election in 2020 instead of a “raise”!? 🙂

That would be great if Trump goes after all those other horrible things (gmo’s, chemtrails, fluoride, etc.) but I wouldn’t trust that WhatDoesItMean/Sorcha Faal site as any proof that that’s what Trump is planning.

Can’t wait to see a list of Obama EO’s that Trump will ax!

  19. Informative read…

Globalists/Neocons Prepare to Battle Russia and United States

    From the article…

From Ottawa, (Chrystia) Freeland will lead the neocon and globalist charge against any attempt by Trump to tear up the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). She will almost certainly try to salvage the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), which includes Canada and which Trump has vowed to scrap.
