King Ahab’s Media Pollsters

“I will go out and be a deceiving spirit in the mouths of all his prophets…”

The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “Didn’t I tell you that he never prophesies anything good about me, but only bad?”

Micaiah continued, “Therefore hear the word of the Lord: I saw the Lord sitting on his throne with all the multitudes of heaven standing around him on his right and on his left. And the Lord said, ‘Who will entice Ahab into attacking Ramoth Gilead and going to his death there?’

“One suggested this, and another that. Finally, a spirit came forward, stood before the Lord and said, ‘I will entice him.’

“‘By what means?’ the Lord asked.

“‘I will go out and be a deceiving spirit in the mouths of all his prophets,’ he said.

“‘You will succeed in enticing him,’ said the Lord. ‘Go and do it.’

“So now the Lord has put a deceiving spirit in the mouths of all these prophets of yours. The Lord has decreed disaster for you.”

1 Kings 22:18-23

newsweek-hillary-edition1This passage can take someone in over their head with theological ruminations. “How can God, who is truth, employ a lying spirit to do His will?” That question is outside the scope of this article. Let’s just agree that the Bible says He did do this to bring ruin on an evil leader.

If my point isn’t obvious, the shock that Hillary Clinton felt when she believed her own paid liars in the MSM must have been similar to what King Ahab felt when his paid prophets failed to protect him from God’s judgement.

Ahab is gone. Hillary Clinton is gone. Neither will be back in any meaningful way. They now serve mostly as object lessons.

  2. TD . . . very good that you have brought this point tour attention. I saw where Killary and Bill are going to attend the inauguration out of a “sense of duty” [I guess to the country.] I for one can do without this sacrifice on their part. I should rather think that they want their mugs to be front and center on this upcoming glorious day, rather than any deep seated sense of duty. They did not feel any great sense of duty to our country when they were engaged in their most lucrative “pay for play” schemes, all the while putting our nation at risk of foreign intervention, in exchange for lining the coffers of their foundation. It is most interesting that so many, many times we can find situations in the Bible that can be applied to the various things that are going on in the here and now.

    Great contribution, thank you!

      B.S.!

If the Clintons really are sincere about “duty” to America, they would divest themselves of the Clinton Foundation’s ill-gotten $billions, including pay-to-play, i.e., bribes, from foreign governments. If the Clintons really are sincere about “duty’ to God, they would repent of their many many sins, including murder (Arkancides), and beg God and America for forgiveness.

  3. slick willie can never be never be elected again. hitliary will never run for president again. But these criminals are still with us and they still wield, albeit somewhat truncated, considerable sway with a lot of truly despicable characters. And unless Mr. Trump can get some legal action going against the clinton slush foundation, they’ll have more money than any of us reading this blog and will live in luxury for the rest of their lives – short lives I hope. And even now they’re grooming their evil ugly spawn for political office. Cheesely needs to be found guilty of RICO crimes so that she can never hold office.

  6. I agree with your point, but I’d like to address this:

““How can God, who is truth, employ a lying spirit to do His will?” ”

He didn’t do that. He asked His Divine Council for suggestions as to what would be the best way to deal with a troubling problem on Earth. The fellow whose idea God settled upon was not “a lying spirit”; he was one of the good guys, who proposed going undercover, as good spies often do, tricking the enemy to produce a greater long-term good.

This is one of the most enlightening passages of scripture, because it reveals God’s collaborative management of the world; He created for Himself a family, first in Heaven and later on Earth, and gave its members useful tasks, which He allows them to take initiative to accomplish. He asks His Council for ideas, not because He doesn’t know the best way, but because He wasn’t lying when He gave them the job.

They have free will, too. That guy, when he went on his assignment, could have done something different, mucking up the plan, necessitating a later work-around. Plenty of members of the Divine Council joined Member #1, remember, when he exercised HIS free will, and ruined creation (temporarily).

Speaking of free will, consider this: down on Earth, what would have happened had Adam not misused his free will? SOMEONE would have done so eventually, inevitably, launching the start of a second race of people. This is one of the questions Tolkien was asking when he created Middle Earth: the Elves were the people who did not fall, living in the world alongside Men, the people who inherit “fallenness.” In Lord of The Rings, Tolkien describes the way the two “races” drifted apart, the still-immortal “Elves” gradually losing interest in the affairs of the other half of the family over time (largely out of boredom with their foolish lack of understanding), and mortal Men growing increasingly suspicious of the Elves, and finally fearing them.

The point is, free will is real, and has consequences. And also, that God operates within the set of rules He established when He created sentient beings to help Him administer the world. He might foresee everything that will happen, but He does not foreordain it all. We are not just cogs in a machine.

That’s what makes life so exciting, real, and terrifying. Ahab and Jezebel (Israel’s and ours) had to be gotten rid of, but the people they ruled were unfaithful to God, so they deserved to suffer under them. To tolerate evil leadership is a choice nations have the right to make. What I’m saying to people, these days, is that God gave America one last chance, with Trump; if Hillary had won, God would be sending the message that Nebuchadnezzar will soon be carrying us, today’s “Israelites,” off into exile. And THIS time, there would be no return 70 years down the road.

Let’s hope we don’t blow it.

  7. The Clintonistas never miss an opportunity to appear in the limelight, albeit a very diminished one at this point. They will inject themselves anywhere they can to remind the masses that they’re still around and have a spawn waiting in the wings for future events.

This is to remind their followers that they are gone, more or less, but not forgotten. Appearing at a major event like Trump’s inauguration will remind their paymasters that the Clinton crime family is still relevant, more or less, in their circles and that obscene speaking fees do not dry up. The Clintons are here to stay, sorry to say.

  8. OH MY….I hope that their attendance (along w/the “W” Bushes’ appearance) is in respect for and deference to the governance / historic documents of our great country and the OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENCY (no matter who occupies it) and to the VOICE of the PEOPLE of the United States of America. I’ve NEVER been able to comprehend/get over the way so many exiting presidents and their families have never come to grips—in 4 years or 8 years—-that the White House is ON LEASE TO THEM…that it belongs to the American people…all the chefs, servants, janitors, air planes, secretaries, furnishings, and any perks I’ve not named….it ALL goes away and belongs to the NEXT elected president……they can throw legistlative FITS, go onto national TV shows and whine about having “no hope anymore,” and sabatage our Middle East allies….and caucus for a rare last time with Democrats on “the HIll” trying to “save” a “legacy” bill…..BUT it NEVER EVER works to “save” a presidential “legacy,” b/c a “legacy” has to stand on it’s own (or else it ISN’T a legacy). Nor does all this make a footprint in history—unless you consider that, for the most part, “party bosses” historically leave UGLY footprints in history.
