Via NY Post: It’s a bitter Bill. Former President Bill Clinton Monday blamed the FBI and Russian hacking for wife Hillary’s defeat to Donald Trump in last month’s presidential election.
Clinton made the claim after solemnly casting the first vote for the defeated Democratic presidential nominee during a meeting of New York’s Electoral College in Albany.
“I was never prouder to cast a vote. I watched her work for two years. I watched her battle that bogus email deal . .. .She prevailed against it all,” the former president during a brief press gaggle in the well of the state Senate chamber.
“Then in the end we had the Russians and the FBI deal. She couldn’t prevail against that. She did everything else and still won by 2.8 million votes,” he added.
During a recent visit to a Westchester bookstore, Clinton also pinned the blame on Hillary’s loss on FBI Director James Comey, who made conflicting statements about the email server case during the final days of the campaign.
Clinton was seen carry a bag of books when customers at the independent Katonah book store recognized him and asked about the election. Instead of rushing out, Clinton held court and eagerly fielded questions.
One of the eyewitnesses happened to be the editor of the local Bedford-Pound Ridge Record Review, who published Clinton’s comments in an editorial. “James Comey cost her the election,” Clinton reportedly said.
He also took a shot at President-elect Trump. When asked if Trump was smart, Clinton said, “He doesn’t know much. One thing he does know is how to get angry, white men to vote for him.”
The Trump camp has dismissed the Clinton election claims as sour grapes.
