Weinered: FBI re-opens investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails

Friday is usually the day when controversial and incendiary news is dumped because the people doing the dumping are counting on Americans not paying due attention, preoccupied as they are with their plans for the weekend.

Yesterday, October 28, 2016, 11 days before Election Day, came news that FBI Director James Comey sent a letter to congressional leaders and relevant committee chairmen that in the course of investigating “an unrelated case,” the FBI found new emails that “appear to be pertinent” to the FBI’s case on then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s unsecured private email server. As a result, the FBI is reopening its investigation of Hillary.

Hillary for Prison 2016

The FBI began their investigation of Hillary in July, 2015. A year later, Comey announced that the FBI was not recommending charges against Hillary, saying “no reasonable prosecutor” would bring such a case. But he did chastise the former secretary of state for being “extremely careless” in her handling of sensitive information. For her part, Hillary continues to insist lie that her decision to use a private email server was merely a “mistake,” that the emails contained no classified information, and that she violated no laws.

Addressed to the respective Chairpersons of Congressional Committees on Intelligence, Judiciary, Appropriations, Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, Oversight and Government Reform, below is Comey’s brief letter of October 28, 2016:

U.S. Department of Justice Federal Bureau of Investigation
Washington, D. C. 20535

October 28, 2016

Dear Messrs Chairmen:

In previous congressional testimony, l referred to the fact that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) had completed its investigation of former Secretary Clinton’s personal email server. Due to recent developments, I am writing to supplement my previous testimony.

In connection with an unrelated case, the FBI has learned of the existence of emails that appear to be pertinent to the investigation. I am writing to inform you that the investigative team briefed me on this yesterday, and I agreed that the FBI should take appropriate investigative steps designed to allow investigators to review these emails to determine whether they contain classified information, as well as to assess their importance to our investigation.

Although the FBI cannot yet assess whether or not this material may be significant, and I cannot predict how long it will take us to complete this additional work, I believe it is important to update your Committees about our efforts in light of my previous testimony.

Sincerely yours,
James B. Comey

The “unrelated case” is the FBI’s investigation of illicit text messages (sextexts) sent to a 15-year-old female minor in North Carolina by Anthony Weiner, the disgraced former Congressman (D-NY) and estranged husband of Huma Abedin, a top aide to Hillary Clinton.

Note: Even after losing his Congressional seat after news broke of his sextexts and sending a picture of his erection to a woman, Weiner has continued with his sextexts. The most recent scandal was his sending, to a busty 40-something divorcee in California, a picture of himself with an erection, in bed next to his infant child (New York Post).

As part of the probe, the FBI seized devices from Weiner, including a laptop computer shared by Weiner and Abedin. The laptop’s hard drive reportedly contained tens of thousands of Abedin’s emails to Hillary and other State Department officials.

Experts believe that since Comey’s letter was sent just 11 days before the 2016 presidential election, the FBI must have found something significant despite Comey’s assertion otherwise.

Victoria Toensing, a former deputy assistant attorney general of the U.S. and a former assistant U.S. attorney, suspects agents came directly to Comey with evidence he could not ignore. Toensing said: “Well, it couldn’t be a trifling thing, because this is a big deal. You can see the brouhaha this is causing, so it couldn’t just be a little incident over email. It has to be pretty significant.”

Toensing and her husband, former U.S. Attorney Joe diGenova, have publicly discussed the number of career FBI and Justice Department employees who are disgusted that Hillary was not prosecuted for her “careless” handling of classified information and that Comey refused even to recommend charges. She believes Comey may have acted Friday with that internal criticism in mind: “I think he’s felt the heat. If nobody had criticized him at all he might have made this go under the rug. He knows he’s in a glass house.”

Watergate journalist Carl Bernstein has this to say:

“Well, there’s no question that the e-mails have always been the greatest threat to her candidacy for president, that her conduct in regard to the e-mails is really indefensible and . . . the one thing . . . actually that could really perhaps affect this election.

We don’t know what this means yet except that it’s a real bombshell. And it is unthinkable that the Director of the FBI would take this action lightly . . . unless it was something requiring serious investigation . . . . I want to add here that in the last, oh, 36, 48 hours, there has been an undercurrent of kind of speculative discussion among some national security people that something might surface in the next few days about e-mails. . . . [I]t’s very possible that some members of congress very quickly are going to get an idea of what these e-mails are, and what this is all about, and for whatever purpose put some information out there.”

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump received the number of votes needed to secure the party's nomination. An estimated 50,000 people are expected in Cleveland, including hundreds of protesters and members of the media. The four-day Republican National Convention kicked off on July 18. Predictably, the news that it was Anthony Weiner’s sexual indiscretions that led the FBI to re-open its investigation of Hillary mere days before the presidential election, resulted in a flurry of jokes, puns and innuendos, such as Dickileaks and Cocktober Surprise. But the best line is from ZeroHedge reader Omega_Man:

BREAKING: DNC-Clinton campaign, along with Donna Brazile, have stated that the young girl Weiner was flirting with was actually Vladimir Putin in disguise.

How ironic that the political ambitions of Hillary — the woman who means to be America’s first female president — may be scuttled by two dicks. Already neck-deep in the ever-increasing number of women who accuse Bill Clinton of sexual harassment, rape, and fathering a child out of wedlock, Hillary now finds herself re-enmeshed in FBI investigation as a result of Anthony Weiner’s sexual exploits.

It’s self-proclaimed feminist Hillary’s karmic payback for not just turning a blind eye to her husband’s decades of abusing women, but scapegoating and blaming his victims as sluts and floozies.

  2. Although Hannity, Newt and Mayor Juliani were all jubilant on the radio, I want to know how the lying bastards will turn this around.

What pushed the button that fostered the letter? The what is a who; Trump and his millions of followers.
Or perhaps DNC damage control reported that the state level candidates were getting sucked into the Clinton sewer and they needed to stop the bleeding.
That report about McCauliflower sending the $625,000. to the FBI guy’s wife who is running in Virginia ( he was the one who was delegated to running the Clinton ‘slap an tickle’ moving sideways investigation) sort of revealed the plot.

    And in a rare sort of press conference Hillary was on saying she didn’t know the details, urging full disclosure (???);
folks already made up their minds, and hurry up and vote.
In other words “Don’t allow yourselves to become confused with the facts”

The people I know who are undecided or backing Hillary are idiots.

Besides all the dirty deals, we still do not know what intelligence data has been hacked thanks to this sloppy IT management and the cost in dollars and lives are the consequence.
We have some idea, but not the whole picture.

It’s so ass backwards. wasting time assessing damage that has already been done rather enforcing the regs in place to minimize leaks in the first place. Just like our immigration policies.

    • Yours is truly an inspired and keen insight, marblenecltr, and will likely provoke someone to make the effort needed to do the deed.

“In politics, nothing happens by accident. If it happens, you can bet it was planned that way.” Some say FDR said this, others say he did not. This quote is nevertheless right on target.

Comey reopened the Hillary Clinton email investigation because it is the only way to keep the new, damaging, evidence buried until after the election. The FBI cannot release any of the evidence it has to the public during an ongoing investigation, until after the investigation is completed. By FBI Director Comey’s own statement, that will not be until after the election, when Hillary Clinton becomes President. Comey is still covering for Hillary and no one should be surprised. And after the election you can be assured that Director Comey will issue a statement that nothing of merit or consequence warranting further action was found in those “new” emails and they will simply disappear, never to be seen by anyone.

It’s corruption in the highest offices in the land and there is no end in sight.

  7. Did I hear someone say the timing was coincidental? No way, in any way, is this a coincidence or happenstance. This is politics at its highest & best: the social drama that explains our national life. This will set the cocktail chatter and pub talk awhirl with renewed claims and accusations, as we seek to uncover more & more of whatever, and to assign blame as thickly and quickly as possible.

Consider: this was released by notable pubs: the New York Times, ZeroHedge, Politico, & WND, one even a traditional member of the MSM. This tells us it’s ‘true’ in Newspeak, and approved for public dissemination.

Next, as the author points out in the first sentence, it comes on a Friday, a telling time of minimal attention spans. But of course this is too large an elephant to hide, even if it were painted in camouflage.

Next, it is about a further ‘find’ of likely incriminating info from a previous investigtion, one that was directed by and then terminated by FBI Director James Comey, an already compromised former employee of the Deadly Duo of Deceit in one of their many bizzaro lives (if one can call such vile corruption ‘living’), whom I suspect was told to ‘Go back and this time make something stick ASAP, or your ass is ours.’ As Dr Tom OBrien warned me, this are NOT nice people, but the epitome of what is wrong about the nation’s governance. http://www.theburningplatform.com/2014/06/14/i-was-born-a-poor-black-child/

And how fitting that these perverts are ensconced with Anthony ‘Little Head’ Weiner and his former wife, Huma Abedin, Broom Hilda’s recently outed ‘companion’!

Finally, I think it is highly probable that James Comey, approached by a spokesman for the 184 U.S. generals and admirals who endorsed Trump for Commander-In-Chief only a few days before this, was given a new set of marching orders that he couldn’t refuse very easily. You see, my friend Dr Tom OBrien after leaving the active military along w/six chums then served Army Intelligence afterwards, and shared some great stories of how events come about by unseen players behind the public figures (See my url above).

  8. Well finally the press is starting to report this stuff on Hillary. That’s good. I’m not holding my breath that anything will actually happen to her though. The Teflon coating on the Clintons is thick. But we shall see…

  9. The Doug Band story is on the front page of all the major newspapers as well.
From DavidIcke.com: Wikileaks too big to ignore! ‘Bill Clinton Inc.’ (Clinton Foundation) scandal is on the front page of today’s NYPost, NYTimes, WashingtonPost, Wall Street Journal, and Boston Globe! Corporate Media looking like it is trying to appear journalistic and fair before the Trumpslide. Then, it shows all of the actual front pages of all of these newspapers.

  10. Everything I was ever taught about about the virtue of public service has been shredded by the breadth and depth of corruption being exposed during this presidential campaign.

My faith now lies with God’s word and with virtuous American citizens (we are included) that will FIGHT to restore integrity in our government. God, through our 21C tabernacle (www), has shown us the way, the truth and the light. History shows us that our fight is just beginning, and there is no worldly alternative to victory.

    Onwards, Christian soldiers.
