Glenn Beck touts Ted Cruz as fulfillment of Mormon end-days prophecy

On the eve of the Utah caucuses, Ted Cruz has received the endorsement of two prominent Mormons: Glenn Beck and Mitt Romney.

On Tuesday, March 22, Utah Republicans will choose 40 delegates in caucuses. Under Utah’s rules, a candidate who wins more than 50% of the vote captures all of the state’s GOP delegates. If nobody wins more than half, the delegates are apportioned based on the percentage of the vote the candidate wins.

Lee Davidson reports for The Salt Lake Tribune that on Saturday, March 19, 2016, at a Cruz campaign rally of about 5,000 people in Provo High School, Provo, Utah, TV-radio talk host Glenn Beck said about Cruz and Senator Mike Lee (R-Utah), “I don’t have any friends in Washington except these two” because of how they attack the status quo there.

Then Beck said something at once cryptic and alarming. He said that he, like many Mormons, believes in a prophecy that the Constitution will hang by a thread in the last days. Beck said he believes that now is that time, and that people like Lee and Cruz will save it.

Beck also said the Book of Mormon was created as a guide on how to protect freedom in our day, to which the people at the rally responded yelling, “I believe!”

Cruz also received an endorsement from another prominent Mormon — 2012 GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney.

Romney — who had been campaigning for any GOP presidential candidate except Donald Trump — did not appear at Cruz’s rallies, but endorsed Cruz in a Facebook post on Friday. Romney wrote:

“The only path that remains to nominate a Republican rather than Mr. Trump is to have an open convention. At this stage, the only way we can reach an open convention is for Sen. Cruz to be successful in as many of the remaining nominating elections as possible. Today, there is a contest between Trumpism and Republicanism. Through the calculated statements of its leader, Trumpism has become associated with racism, misogyny, bigotry, xenophobia, vulgarity and, most recently, threats and violence. I am repulsed by each and every one of these.”

Trump responded by calling Romney “the man who ‘choked’ and let us all down,” so his endorsement of Cruz “is good for me.”

For his part, Cruz said that the biggest danger America faces is career politicians who no longer listen, and that he relishes battling them for the people: “The biggest divide we have today in politics is between career politicians in Washington — in both parties — and the American people. Our freedom is at stake. Our nation is dangling in the balance.” Cruz said he has been ridiculed and attacked by such politicians for fighting Obamacare and defending the Constitution, but that he and Sen. Mike Lee are “holding Washington accountable.” Cruz even hinted that he might consider Lee as a Supreme Court nominee if he is elected president.

Thus far, Trump has won 673 delegates, Cruz has won 410 delegates, Ohio Gov. John Kasich has won 143, while Florida Sen. Marco Rubio — who suspended his campaign this week — had won 169. A total of 1,237 delegates is needed to win the Republican Party’s nomination.

It is the height of irony for Glenn Beck to tout Ted Cruz as the savior of the tattered Constitution, for Beck certainly cares not a whit whether Cruz — a Canadian citizen by birth who renounced his Canadian citizenship only last year when a Texas newspaper outed him — is constitutionally eligible to be President of the United States. In that, Beck is simply acting true to character. He had used the MSM’s derisive label “birthers” to refer to Americans who question Obama’s constitutional eligibility to be president. Beck even stooped to calling “birthers” “dumb”. (See “Who’s the stupid one, Glenn Beck?“)

Save the Constitution by electing a second fraud that is in direct violation of our U.S. Constitution???

Only the ignorant, traitorous liars, or cowards, refer to obama as president. Only the ignorant, traitorous liars, or cowards, claim cruz or rubio are “Natural Born” U.S. citizens.

  2. Beck, Cruz, Barton, and Cruz’s father are Dominionists. Yes, I know that Beck is a Mormon, but he’s bought into the Dominionist garbage as well. These people are all into heretical doctrine. It really gives me the willies that Cruz knows he isn’t even eligible, and has his records sealed just like Obama…what we have here is another Obama in Republican drag. He has flip-flopped so many times, it should be his middle name, and he and Rubio voting to give fast-track to this filthy Marxist Muslim in our White House for the TPP trade rot is unconscionable. Then think about this loony tunes’ wife who helped write the North American Union at the CFR. They’re all part and parcel of the NEW WORLD ORDER globalists’ plans. It’s so ugly I can’t believe Christians are being fooled by him. There is nothing orthodox about him or these other people. God help us.

  3. I liked the man, Cruz, when he did that 15 hr (or was it 13 hrs) filibuster against Obama’s HCB.
Then he showed us a different side of him. The man is not who people think he is!
He is owned by all of those who contributed to his campaign.
    Look at this damn list!

  5. Cruz has to be cringing, standing there listening this stuff fall out of Beck’s mouth and Beck has lost it, he used to be full of good info, but now, he is out there on the fishing dock without any bait.
And Cruz, well, we know he is not elgible, but yet, he stands there all proud of his lies.
And there are some that think Trump has the problem.

  6. What in the world happened to Beck?
I used to watch his TV show religiously. He could take a complicated issue and make it simple.

I had no idea he could turn round and be this type of toxic man!

  7. Take two minutes to view Sinister Sites’ survey of the demonstrably Luciferian and overtly Satanic occult symbolism blanketing Mormonism’s Temple Square in Salt Lake City, particularly the famous Christos statue, intentionally situated so as to depict Christ blocking the Luciferian sunlight and casting the earth in perpetual shadow. Beck is not only a Mormon, but a longterm adept of Bill Wilson’s initiatory, New Age, AA 12-step religion, that claims it isn’t one, in whose biographical chapter in the canonical Big Book Wilson claims he was visited by the Father of Light during a drug- and alcohol-induced psychedelic vision while drying out in a hospital, which is not some misplaced reference to God the Father, but a straightforward reference to Lucifer and the dark forces wilson sought through constant necromancy and who, Wilson attests, auto dictated those 12 steps in another demonic trance. Mormonism, like Beck’s AA, use the trappings of Christianity precisely as those under the shadow of Satan or Lucifer would have them do.

See also Cruz’s father Rafael’s YouTube performance at the totally Judaized New Beginnings mega-church in Irving, Texas, praising war for providing riches to the chosen, or elect, whom he specifically calls priests. This anti-Christian “church” itself symbolizes the total subjugation of Christian faith and dogma to Zionism, with no cross anywhere I can see, but a Star of David on the lectern, menorah as backdrop, and the grinning mockery of supplanting traditional, devotional hymns with rock bands whose mawkish sentimentalism trivializes faith to New Age psychobabble. I apologize for the rant, if anyone’s read this far, but Beck and Cruz, two peas in a Luciferian pod in my view, are as clear a case of Satanic and Masonic demonism wrapped in the trappings of faith as we’ll see, short of the “pastors” themselves, like Huch and Hagee.

    • Dan I appreciate your rant ! Joseph Smith was a Freemason and Mormonism is exactly what you stated ! The only thing I hadn’t heard before was about this Bill Wilson. But it all fits doesn’t it?
What stuns me is how many are willing to sell their soul to the devil like Cruz and Beck, and that people lap this refuse up without ever looking beneath the surface.

  8. This whole election smells to high heaven. Trump “might” be the lesser of all evils, but he is financing his own campaign. Somehow that will be repaid. I will vote for whom ever gets the Republican nomination, but I will do it holding my nose.

  11. Why am I NOT surprised….

    Money is their god….
I’m sure Goldman Sachs paid their tithes for the first time to the Mormon Church in exchange for Cruz’s endorsement….so transparent.😈

Each new member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles is given one million dollars to take care of any financial obligations they have. This money gift allows them to fully focus on the ministry. He said that the overriding consideration of who is chosen is whether they are “church broke,” meaning, will they do whatever they are told. He said the senior six apostles make the agenda and do most of the talking. The junior six are told to observe, listen and learn and really only comment if they are asked. He said that it takes about two to three years before the new apostle discovers that the church is not true. He said it took Dieter F. Uchtdorf a little longer because he was an outsider. He said they privately talk among themselves and know the foundational claims of the restoration are not true, but continue on boldly “because the people need it,” meaning the people need the church. When the Mission President voiced skepticism and named ___ as one who surely did believe, The GA said: “No, he doesn’t.” The one million dollar gift, plus their totally obedient attitude makes it easy for them to go along when they find out the church is not true. For these reasons and others, he doesn’t expect any apostle to ever expose the truth about the foundational claims.

  12. Glenn Beck is an over-rated demagoue moron who has let his past popularity go to his head. His failure to challenge Obama’s legitimacy and his attack on those who did, and do, proved to me that he was not worthy of his listeners’ trust.

  13. Mormons are a cult. Beck has lost his mind, and threatens the American election process. Cruz is illegal to run. The whole system in America is corrupt, and the Government officials act as though they are dictators instead of ELECTED people. Pray for the safety of Trump, and that those who are rioting wake up to the fact that they are being used by the puppet masters.

  14. Glenn Beck is having his meltdown, and it’s to be expected. The man is deranged. And it’s a shame, because, except for one former colleague of mine in teaching, I never met a Mormon I didn’t like. (I disagree with their theology 100%, and I believe they worship a false conception of Jesus Christ.)

    • Steven, It is sad…however, I think you are 100% correct about Beck. He seems to have gone further and further down a little at a time THEN BOOM! He seemed to hit the bottom after he was let go by Fox. I think that had a great deal of an effect on him. He is NOT the sme man he was before.

In the past, he was so clear headed; and one of the few people who could explain complex issues in simple terms so anyone could understand.

  15. Would like to thank Dr. Eowyn for excellent, well-researched articles about current events, especially appreciate the work you’ve done to tell the real story about Sandy Hook. I stumbled on this site years ago and have been a daily reader ever since.

I haven’t made a habit of listening to Glenn Beck, but if I happen to hear something he’s said it may be 50/50 that I disagree with him on it. Although his melodramatic style puts me off I think he is sincere. He was giving it as his opinion as a private citizen that Ted Cruz is the best candidate, but he does not speak for all Mormons nor does he have any authority to tell Mormons who to vote for in an official capacity. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has a strict policy of political neutrality. I have heard this letter read from the pulpit many times over the years. http://www.mormonnewsroom.org/official-statement/political-neutrality

The Constitution makes an appearance in the Doctrine and Covenants, what Mormons consider modern-day scripture and part of our scriptural canon along with the KJV Bible and Book of Mormon.:
101:80 “And for this purpose have I established the Constitution of this land, by the hands of wise men whom I raised up unto this very purpose, and redeemed the land by the shedding of blood.”
109:54 “Have mercy, O Lord, upon all the nations of the earth; have mercy upon the rulers of our land; may those principles, which were so honorably and nobly defended, namely, the Constitution of our land, by our fathers, be established forever.”

I would venture to say that the majority of members are not aware of the prophecy Beck mentioned, known as the White Horse Prophecy. It is not something that is taught in Sunday School, but I’ve always been cognizant of the idea behind it as my family and I discussed it since I was small. Official statement:
    http://www.mormonnewsroom.org/blog/church-statement-on-white-horse-prophecy-and-political-neutrality
It is my belief that the Book of Mormon was written for our day. A couple verses to illustrate the point: Ether 8: 24 “Wherefore, the Lord commandeth you, when ye shall see these things come among you that ye shall awake to a sense of your awful situation, because of this secret combination which shall be among you; or wo be unto it, because of the blood of them who have been slain; for they cry from the dust for vengeance upon it, and also upon those who built it up.
25 For it cometh to pass that whoso buildeth it up seeketh to overthrow the freedom of all lands, nations, and countries; and it bringeth to pass the destruction of all people, for it is built up by the devil, who is the father of all lies; even that same liar who beguiled our first parents, yea, even that same liar who hath caused man to commit murder from the beginning; who hath hardened the hearts of men that they have murdered the prophets, and stoned them, and cast them out from the beginning.”

For the record, I am a Mormon and although we’re known for our missionary efforts, I am not trying to proselyte. I’m sharing original sources in an effort to deepen understanding of this issue.

And I see that Trump will lose in Mormon Utah b/c of his ownership of casinos. Gambling is forbidden in the Mormon religion.
