New ‘pronoun pins’ at U of Kansas let people choose their gender

gender-pins

From Fox News: Kansas University libraries will now offer students, staff and visitors the choice of wearing “gender inclusive” buttons identifying their preferred gender pronouns, in order to help promote a “welcoming environment” on campus.

The buttons, which read, “He/Him/His,” “She/Her/Hers” or “They/Them/Theirs” are part of a year-long effort on behalf of the KU library’s “You Belong Here” marketing campaign touting the school as warm, welcoming, and tolerant.

“Because gender is, itself, fluid and up to the individual, each person has the right to identify their own pronouns, and we encourage you to ask before assuming someone’s gender,” a sign in the library above the available buttons reads, according to local media.

The library signs go on to explain that “misgendering” someone “can be hurtful” and lead to emotional distress as that person contemplates their ultimate exclusion from modern society, or struggle with “invalidation” of their life choices.

KU’s “front line” librarians came up with the idea, and have been wearing the buttons with pride. They say the markers have been so popular that the library has already had to reorder buttons, and that students routinely ask for them.

Brave dog stays with injured mate on railway for 2 days

Thu, 29 Dec 2016 13:21:55 +0000

eowyn2

A very brave male dog named Panda risked his own life to stay with Lucy, a female dog who was injured and couldn’t move from a railway track near  the village of Tseglovka in Ukraine.

panda-lucy-in-ukraine

The UK’s Mirror reports on Dec. 27, 2016, that Panda risked death by staying with Lucy for two days. When a train approached, both dogs pressed their heads and bodies to the ground so that the train passed over them.

panda-lucy

It is unclear how Lucy got injured. If villagers came too close, Panda would bark to scare them away.

Here’s the heart-stopping video taken by Denis Malafeyev, showing how perilous it was for the dogs:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6Q0ESwXWYU

Malafeyev said:

“It’s such a touching story. I got a phone call from a friend who said that there were two dogs lying on the railway track near Tseglovka village for two days. When we arrived, it turned out that one of the dogs, the female, was injured and couldn’t move. But the male dog was protecting her from us. I saw a train approaching – and felt sick. The male dog heard the sound of the approaching train, came close to the female dog and laid down next to her. Both of them pushed their heads towards the ground, and let the train pass. The male dog was doing this for two days in a row. I don’t know what to call this: instinct, love, friendship, loyalty? One thing I know for sure, not all the people would do the same as this.”

Happily, Malafeyev reported later that the dogs had been removed from the track: “Just to relieve the stress, the dogs are safe and sound. They have had medical assistance.”

panda-lucy-after-rescue

Lucy had severe bruises but no fractures. The owners of the dogs were found and the dogs returned to them.

No human would have done what Panda the dog did.

Cafe 8½ restaurant in Hawaii bans Trump voters

More liberal tolerance and diversity!

Kiri Blakeley reports for Daily Mail, Dec. 27, 2016, that Cafe 8½, an Italian restaurant in Honolulu, Hawaii, posted a handwritten sign on its door calling those who’d voted for Donald Trump “Nazis” and banning them from eating in the restaurant:

“If you voted for Trump, you cannot eat here! No Nazis”

The restaurant is owned by Robert and Jali Warner.

Once again, those mentally-ill liberals are projecting themselves onto others, as anyone who actually knows history would know that the Warners are exactly what they accuse Trump voters of being — Nazis.

As an irate Facebook reader wrote on Cafe 8½’s Facebook page:

“I come from a country that once banned all people from a certain group from entering restaurants, makes me feel enormously sensitive about your approach; in other words, I don’t see how people can’t be allowed into a bar just because they are black, or gay, or Jewish, or voting for Trump.”

Once again, when called on their loutish behavior, like other liberal cowards, the Warners immediately backed off. Jali Warner told Fox News that they did not plan to ask people whom they voted for, nor would anyone who voted for Trump not be served:

“Robert just wants to express how much he doesn’t like Trump. If people take it personally or it hurts them, we cannot help. That’s why we say they have [a] choice if they want to come or not come. We don’t force them.”

And if someone came in wearing a Trump shirt, Jali promised not to put poison in that person’s food — so nice of her!

“We don’t put anything different [in] your food. We don’t want to create trouble. There is enough trouble in the world.”

Cafe 8½ quickly took down the “ban Trump voters” sign. (San Diego Union-Tribune)

Hawaii is overwhelmingly Democrat and voted 62% for Hillary Clinton.

To leave a rating and review for Cafe 8½ on Yelp, go here.

If you live in or visit Honolulu, shun this restaurant, because it obviously does not want your business. Here’s the address, phone number and website of Cafe 8½:

Dog waits for owner killed in convenience-store robbery

Tue, 27 Dec 2016 14:05:31 +0000

eowyn2

Too often, at great expense and effort, scientists succeed in merely confirming what we already know to be true.

A recent example is the publication of a study in the journal Current Biology which found — GASP! — dogs remember (“have episodic memory”) their owners’ actions!

The report was authored by a team of Hungarian researchers: Claudia Fugazza, Akos Pogány, and Ádám Miklósi.

Here’s the report’s summary, written in typical academic jargon:

“The existence of episodic memory in non-human animals is a debated topic that has been investigated using different methodologies that reflect diverse theoretical approaches to its definition. A fundamental feature of episodic memory is recalling after incidental encoding, which can be assessed if the recall test is unexpected [ 1 ]. We used a modified version of the “Do as I Do” method [ 2 ], relying on dogs’ ability to imitate human actions, to test whether dogs can rely on episodic memory when recalling others’ actions from the past. Dogs were first trained to imitate human actions on command. Next, they were trained to perform a simple training exercise (lying down), irrespective of the previously demonstrated action. This way, we substituted their expectation to be required to imitate with the expectation to be required to lie down. We then tested whether dogs recalled the demonstrated actions by unexpectedly giving them the command to imitate, instead of lying down. Dogs were tested with a short (1 min) and a long (1 hr) retention interval. They were able to recall the demonstrated actions after both intervals; however, their performance declined more with time compared to conditions in which imitation was expected. These findings show that dogs recall past events as complex as human actions even if they do not expect the memory test, providing evidence for episodic-like memory. Dogs offer an ideal model to study episodic memory in non-human species, and this methodological approach allows investigating memory of complex, context-rich events.”

Not only do dogs remember their owners’ actions, some dogs remember so well, they would wait — in some cases, for years — for their dead owners. See, for example:

Here’s another heart-breaking example. You’ll need a hanky . . . .

A German Shepherd waits for weeks outside the Houston apartment of his owner, 54-year-old Hatem Abuharbid, a small convenience-store owner who was killed during a robbery on Feb. 7, 2016.

German government officials get 'safer' vaccines

Mon, 26 Dec 2016 14:56:31 +0000

eowyn2

Although the Spiegel report below is from 2009, there is no reason for us to think that the German practice of a 2-class vaccine system had ended, or that there isn’t one in the U.S. as well, wherein U.S. politicians have access to “safer” versions of the vaccines they inflict on us little people.

angela-merkel

From “Second-Class Medicine: Germans Unhappy with Alternative Swine Flu Vaccine for Politicians,” Spiegel, Oct. 19, 2009:

One might think that the arrival in Germany of the first of 50 million doses of swine flu vaccine on Monday might be cause for celebration. But with news breaking over the weekend that top government officials in Berlin will be injected with an alternative vaccine — one widely seen as safer — a debate about an alleged two-class medical system has erupted.

SPIEGEL over the weekend reported that Chancellor Angela Merkel, a number of her ministers and other government officials would receive a vaccine manufactured by the pharmaceutical company Baxter — the same vaccine that the German military opted for, as was reported last week. […]

The controversy centers on an additive included in the vaccine manufactured by pharmaceutical giant GlaxoSmithKline. The additive includes an inactive strain of the entire flu virus as opposed to virus fragments. Critics say the additive can increase the risk of side effects from the flu vaccine such as fevers and headaches.

Supporters counter that the additive is safe, and its use allows the drug manufacturer to quickly produce more doses of the vaccine. […]

An Interior Ministry spokesman told SPIEGEL that the Baxter vaccine had been ordered for all ministries and other agencies as well as for the employees of the Paul Ehrlich Institute, the authority responsible for approving vaccines.

Merkel’s spokesman Ulrich Wilhelm on Monday denied that Merkel was taking a different vaccine than the one available to ordinary Germans. He said that the Baxter vaccine had been ordered four months ago as part of a deal hammered out one year ago and has nothing to do with recent concerns surrounding the GlaxoSmithKline vaccine [aka Pandemrix]. […]

Leading physicians also complained about the planned vaccination. The head of the Institute for Hygiene and Public Health at the University of Bonn, Martin Exner, said: “The fact that politicians and top civil servants in ministries will be vaccinated with a vaccine other than the people is a terrible sign. Today politicians must take what they recommend.”

Virologist Alexander Kekulé Hall of the University Hospital said the fact “that the members of the Federal Government and the authorities have any other vaccine is a scandal.” […]

Some German politicians have joined Merkel in opting out of the alternative vaccine. Health Minister Ulla Schmidt said in Bild, “I will allow myself to be vaccinated with the same vaccine as the people. It is exactly like the other approved vaccine, safe and effective.”

The weekend scandal has drowned out a second debate which has been raging in recent weeks in the US and which has also found resonance here in Germany: whether such a massive vaccination program is necessary in the first place.

Wolf-Dieter Ludwig, chairman of the Drug Commission of the German Medical Association, has called the planned vaccination campaign a “scandal.” “The health authorities have fallen for a campaign from the pharmaceutical companies, who simply want to earn money with an alleged threat,” he told SPIEGEL.

H/t Thought Crime Radio

Meanwhile, I still have not received a response to an email I’d sent 20 days ago to the Editorial Office as well as Editor-in-Chief Joav Merrick of the journal Frontiers in Public Health, inquiring why the journal deleted, without explanation, an article on childhood vaccination and autism after the journal had published it in its 2016 issue (4:270). The article was even scrubbed from Google Cache.

The article was a report by Dr. Anthony Mawson, Dr. Brian D. Ray, Dr. Azad R. Bhuiyan and Binu Jacob, of the findings of their study that found a statistically significant association between childhood vaccination and autism.

In an email, the study’s lead author Dr. Anthony Mawson informed me that Frontiers in Public Health‘s chief editor had pulled the article because of “complaints” based simply on the article’s Abstract, although the paper had been approved for publication by two peer reviewers, Kelly Hsieh and Linda Mullin Elkins, as well as by an editor, Amit Agrawal.

All of which means that Frontiers engaged in post-publication censorship.

Florida public school teacher installs 'In Satan We Trust' pentagram in public square

Thu, 22 Dec 2016 16:40:50 +0000

eowyn2

I’ve said it before: I firmly believe that when Obama was elected in 2008 to the White House, a portal to Hell was opened.

Certainly, in the 8 years of the Obama presidency, evil no longer hides in the shadows but has become public and in-your-face. See:

Already, with the election of Donald Trump and even before he’s inaugurated, evil has begun to recede back to the shadows where it belongs. See “MAGA: Beastialists in retreat after Trump win”.

But not all.

A case in point: A middle school teacher in Boca Raton named Preston Smith has installed a large red satanic pentagram in a “free-expression zone” in Boca Raton’s Sanborn Square park, in the name of freedom of religion.

At the top of pentagram are the words:

In Satan we Trust
One Nation under Antichrist
May the children hail Satan

The “T” of the word “Satan” is formed by an upside-down crucifix.

In the middle of the pentagram is a drawing of the Baphomet, a figure representative of the Devil.

boca-raton-pentagram

WPTV reports that Preston Smith teaches language arts at Boca Raton Community Middle School.

In early December, the city of Boca Raton gave Smith permission to install a Satanic display at Sanborn Square downtown– the same park where other religious organizations install a nativity scene and menorah during the holiday season. Smith, a known activist for separating religion from government, argued that if the city allows one religious display on public property, it has to allow them all, even if they are offensive.

Kim Bremer, the president of Boca Raton Community Middle School’s parent teacher association, said she doesn’t want Smith to continue teaching at the school because “A teacher we entrust our children with should not be putting a sign like this anywhere,” but added she can’t speak on behalf of all parents.

Christians have peacefully protested against the pentagram.

Superintendent Dr. Robert Avossa refuses to fire Smith on the grounds that the first amendment protects Smith’s freedom of expression to express what he believes outside of the classroom, and there is no indication Smith has expressed his views while acting as a teacher. While Avossa understands parents’ concerns, “We certainly can’t micro-manage what an individual does outside of the schoolhouse. I am aware of the situation. This isn’t the first time this individual has participated in an activity like that.”

Smith said he does not “proselytize my own viewpoints in the classroom or disparage any child’s personal faith” and that he has no plans to step down as a Language Arts teacher at Boca Raton Community Middle School. He said that the words “May the Children Hail Satan” is “an artistic expression of defiance toward the Sanborn Square nativity scene, which performs an annual reenactment of predatory indoctrination in a public park targeting young children before they have critical thinking skills. Satan and God are clearly both fictional characters devoid of any verifiable peer-reviewed scientific evidence.” Blah, blah, blah.

The mayor of Boca Raton and the Interfaith Clergy Association have publicly denounced the pentagram.

The pentagram repeatedly is defaced — the words and the drawing covered with spray paint — which Smith calls a hate crime. In the latest incident, the pentagram was knocked down apparently by “vandals” in a truck, judging by tire tracks leading to and from the toppled display.

Preston Smith calls himself an “anti-theist” but gave an invocation to Satan at a Lake Worth City Commission meeting on December 2, 2014, hailing “the all-knowing wisdom of Satan”. (See “Florida city council summons Satan“)

Trump officially voted President!

A few minutes ago, the Electoral College votes for Donald Trump went over the 270 needed to a total of 304 (vs. 224 for Hillary)!
Donald Trump is officially elected the 45th President of the United States of America.
dancingbanana Carrot Chilli Muffin PurpleBanana Pineapple Strawberry
Despite all the death threats and harassing/intimidating phone calls and emails directed at Republican Electors (Pennsylvanian Electors even had police protection and escort); despite the unprecedented video of idiotic Hollyweirdos, led by Martin Sheen, asking Electors not to vote for Trump; despite murmurs of bribes, the Electors stood firm and voted in accordance with how the residents of their respective states had voted.
Thank you, Electors!
Not a single GOP Elector buckled under the pressure and voted for Hillary, although one voted for Ron Paul (who is not on the ballot), and another for John Kasich. Both are Texas electors.
7 Democrat Electors went rogue by not casting their votes for Hillary as they were supposed to:

  • In Colorado, a Democrat elector tried to vote for John Kasich and was replaced by an alternate elector, who voted for Hillary because state law requires electors to vote for the winner of the state’s popular vote. (NPR)
  • In Maine, a Democratic elector voted for Bernie Sanders instead of Clinton. He was ruled “out of order,” and he voted for Clinton in a second vote.
  • In Minnesota, Muhammad Abdurrahman, a former Bernie Sanders delegate to the Democratic National Convention, attempted to vote for no candidate. His vote was declared invalid and an alternate elector was appointed, enabling the state to go ahead and deliver its 10 electoral votes for Hillary Clinton. (The Hill)
  • In Washington, while 8 of the state’s 12 electors voted for Clinton, 4 electors went rogue, 2 of whom voted for Colin Powell, and 2 for Faith Spotted Eagle — a Native American who has been active in the Dakota pipeline protests. (ZeroHedge)

We can expect more shenanigans from Democrats in the month until inauguration. But their bag of tricks is rapidly depleting, and We The People will expose and call them on their chicanery every step of the way.
Hillary Clinton, a truly evil woman, will never be POTUS!
The countdown begins! Let’s Make America Great Again!

Electoral College vote – Open Thread

270 Electoral College votes are needed to win.
Some time before 6 pm ET, the tally was 304 Trump vs. 224 Clinton.
(Live vote tally here)

Donald Trump is officially the next POTUS!

So far, all of the electors in states who should vote for Trump, did so.
Electors who went rogue are Democrats:

(ZeroHedge)

Electoral College meets today: Meeting times & places of GOP Electors

Today, December 19, 2016, America’s Electoral College voters are scheduled to meet in their respective states to cast their votes for President of the United States of America.
Although the Electors are supposed to vote in accordance with the voters of their state, which means if their state voted for Donald Trump, the Electors should also cast their votes for Trump, at least one Republican Elector in Texas has made quite a name for himself by declaring he instead would vote for Hillary Clinton. See “Sole Republican elector who plans to vote against Trump is a 9/11 faker?“.
So it’s a good idea for citizens to keep an eye on what their Electors do by attending their meetings, which are open to the public.
