United Methodist pastor “blesses” Cleveland abortion clinics

The Oxford Dictionary defines the verb “bless” as “to confer or invoke divine favor upon; ask God to look favorably on.”

I don’t know what divinity or god “Reverend” Laura Young invokes when she “blesses” abortion clinics, but it sure isn’t our Lord Jesus Christ.

Laura Young and other female ministers

Sarah Zagorski reports for Life News, Oct. 12, 2015, that United Methodist Church pastor Reverend Laura Young accuses pro-lifers who object to Planned Parenthood and other abortion facilities of “misguided faith.” Young believes abortion clinics should be blessed, which is why, on Oct. 8, 2015, she “blessed” the Preterm abortion clinic in Cleveland, Ohio — the same abortion facility that was involved in the abortion-related death of Lakisha Wilson.

Young’s twisted thinking is that “Christianity, like most faiths, is founded on love. Watching protesters shouting judgment and hate based on what they call religion is horrible. Is that loving God? Is that loving your neighbor as yourself?”

Young, a “progressive theological thinker and a feminist,” also accuses religious groups of fueling the so-called war on women. She says, “Women are being attacked at a moral level by the radical Religious Right. They’ve hijacked the political discussion. This event is an opportunity for progressive religious leaders to stop the silence. We need to be in the conversation.”

Young has plans to bless other abortion facilities in the state.

United Methodist bishop Gregory PalmerBishop of the United Methodist Church Gregory Palmer appointed Young to be the executive director of the Ohio Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice. The coalition runs an “all-options” counseling hotline for women facing crisis pregnancies. Young said, “It breaks my heart to know women are sitting in pews across the country feeling shamed, believing that they’re cursed for making this decision. That’s a question I get a lot on the phone, ‘Am I going to hell?’ When God instead is there to support women through it all.”

God is there to support women through their abortions murders?

Only if your “god” is Satan.

  1. Wow! If ever there was a church the Lord Jesus Christ would spew from his mouth, the United Methodist “Church” is it. Actually no, they are worse than the luke warm church. They are a complete counterfeit.

  5. Oh Lord, Oh Lord how much further can we, as a society, fall from your teachings? I can say one thing, this is definitely NOT the Methodist Church my mother grew up in! They were not even allowed to play cards.

Ms. Young this comment — “It breaks my heart to know women are sitting in pews across the country feeling shamed,…….” maybe we need to get back to feeling shame. I it just might make us more humble and teachable!

  10. The saddest of all is these people are convinced they are serving THE LORD, can you imagine the abject burning shame they will experience when they meet Him face to face…

Mat 7:22-23 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? (23) And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

While I loathe what they are doing to Christianity in Christ’s name, I pity them, for,

Heb 10:30-31 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. (31) It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

  11. Remember the article where they were actually thanking God for abortion, unbelievable, the depths of depravity. This is what many of the churches today have become. Is it any wonder devout believers no longer enter these places? The Lord is judging America and I fully believe His hand was lifted in 1973 when we went against His Word and started murdering the babies and the elderly who were sick and infirm. God forgive us for letting this happen.

  12. I pray for the babies who will be murdered there and elsewhere, the lives that will never be given a chance to grow and maybe make a positive impact on this country. that church is a wolf in sheep’s clothing, they hide under the cross while blaspheming Christ…they (and all like them) will be judged by God.

  13. Sad for humanity. I have attended that church several times years ago and I can tell you, these actions were never part of the church. They are hiding behind a church to bring down religion as a whole.
You would think if a woman has no intention of carrying a baby through to delivery, she would do everything possible to prevent such pregnancy. There are too many preventive ways, many very safe and some permanent. It is hard to understand and would save so many heartaches.
It makes one consider the thought that it is done on purpose so they can flex their wings on women’s rights. I am curious of their true intentions.

  16. Laura Young reminds me of Mary Erickson of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Jackson, Wyoming. St. John’s Episcopal Church is absolutely antichrist.

  17. Thank you Dr. Eowyn for this important post. Again, this is evil in action as inspired by satan: calling evil, good, and good evil – an upside down reality.

  18. This is a worthless group of liars and deceivers. They are not of the body of Christ. They are leading the weak and simple minded astray. They serve self and corporate interests bought and paid for by groups that want to destroy the Church and family and marriage. The ones that won’t make the rapture. I hope they repent and be a doer of the Word and please God and not man. Woe to those who lead these little ones astray. All the children are Mine sayeth the Lord. Every aborted child will go straight to heaven and those who commit murder straight to hell.
