Good news: The Obama administration is doing precisely that!
In her December 6, 2010 article for Human Events, “Muslim Brotherhood Front Group Trains Airport Screeners,” Connie Hair reports that “the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC) just completed training for 2,200 TSA agents” (Transportation Safety Officers or TSOs) at the Los Angeles International Airport, according to a press release found on the Council’s website.
The MPAC release notes that the two-month training course informed officers of “the diversity of Muslims around the world from cultural dress to language to tenets. The four trainers taught the TSOs how to properly handle a Quran and discussed the different ways Muslim women and men choose to cover or dress. For example, the TSOs learned if a woman wears hijab and needs a secondary screening she should be screened in a private area by a female TSO officer.”
So who or what is the innocuous-sounding Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC)?
In 1986, MPAC was formed as a political action arm of one of the largest Wahhabi mosques in America, the Islamic Center for Southern California. Wahhabi is a radical sect of Sunni Islam, believed by many (such as scholar Daniel Pipes) to be the belief system that animates Osama bin Laden and the 9-11 terrorists. According to Wikipedia:
Wahhabi (Arabic : الوهابية, Al-Wahhābīyya) is a Sunni Islamic sect based on the teachings of Muhammad ibn Abd-al-Wahhab, an 18th century Muslim theologian from what is today known as Saudi Arabia, who advocated purging Islam of what he considered impurities. Wahhabism is the dominant form of Islam in Saudi Arabia…. It has developed considerable influence in the Muslim world in part through Saudi funding of mosques, schools and social programs…. Critics have used the word “cult” to describe Wahhabis…. The Saudi government established the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, a state religious police unit, to enforce Wahhabi rules of behaviour.
So what is the Islamic Center for Southern California (ICSC), the political arm of which is the MPAC that trained 2,200 TSA agents for L.A. International Airport?
In her Human Events article, Connie Hair cites a report by the Center for Security Policy’s Team B II, entitled “Sharia: The Threat to America,” which details the radicalism of the Islamic Center for Southern California:
To begin with, the founders of ICSC are two brothers, Hassan and Maher Hathout, who were active in the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt. Hassan Hathout, now dead, was a senior member of the Brotherhood.
The Muslim Brotherhood or the Society of Muslim Brothers, founded in 1928 in Egypt, is the world’s oldest, largest, and most influential Islamic political group that is also an Islamist transnational movement. Its stated goal is to instill the Qur’an and Sunnah as the “sole reference point for…ordering the life of the Muslim family, individual, community…and state”. The Brotherhood officially has said it opposes violent means to achieve its goals. At the same time, the movement qualifies its opposition to violence with “exceptions” such as the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the overthrow of secular Ba’athist rule in Syria. The Egyptian government does not believe the Brotherhood’s claim of nonviolence and accuses the group of terrorism — a campaign of killings and political assassinations in Egypt after World War II. That is why the Muslim Brotherhood is banned in Egypt, its members arrested.
The surviving brother, Maher Hathout, not only founded the Islamic Center of Southern California, he still works for the ICSC and is a senior advisor for MPAC. Hathout was also on the board of directors and a member of the American Muslim Council (AMC) from 1993 to 1997. AMC was founded by the al Qaeda financier and (Palestinian terrorist group) Hamas operative Abdurahman Alamoudi who is currently serving 23 years in prison for funding terrorist groups including al Qaeda.
Moreover, “Maher Hathout has publicly voiced his approval of Designated Terrorist Organizations such as Hezbollah; decried many U.S. counterterrorism efforts; called for the destruction of Israel; and, openly supported known terrorists such as Hasan al Turabi, the leader of the National Islamic Front of Sudan. Yet, the organization he founded, MPAC, enjoys a reputation in official U.S. circles as a ‘moderate’ Muslim organization,” the Team B II report states.
Now let’s look at the MPAC itself.
According to the Team B II report, the current president of MPAC is a man named Salam al-Marayati who was denied a leadership position on the National Commission on Terrorism by then-House Democratic Leader Richard Gephardt when it came to light that Al-Marayati claimed that the terrorist group, Hezbollah, was a legitimate organization and has the right to attack the Israeli Army. The Team B II report concludes that MPAC is a propaganda and misinformation ministry for the Muslim Brotherhood.
- A group called the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC) just completed the training of 2,200 TSA agents for L.A. International Airport.
- MPAC is the political arm of a Wahhabi mosque in America called the Islamic Center for Southern California (ICSC).
- Wahhabi is a radical Islamic sect with connections to jihadist terrorism.
- The founders of ICSC were members of another Islamic terrorist group, the notorious Muslim Brotherhood.
- Conclusion: 2,200 TSA agents were trained by an extreme jihadist Muslim group.
Makes you wonder why our soldiers are risking their lives and getting killed fighting radical Islam in Afghanistan and Iraq, while their homeland America increasingly is infiltrated by that same radical Islam.
Here’s an extensive background study of MPAC’s links to jihadi terrorist groups.
