1/3 of young millennials, 18-24, aren’t sure Earth is round

Americans are getting more stupid by the day.

Here’s more evidence.

KDKA CBS2 Pittsburgh reports that a 2018 national survey of 8,215 U.S. adults by YouGov, a British market research firm, found that a third of young millennials, 18- to 24-year-olds, aren’t convinced the Earth is actually round.

Here are the poll’s other findings on young millennials:

  • Only 66% answered that they “always believe the world is round.”
  • 9% said they thought the Earth was found but had doubts about it.
  • 16% said they weren’t sure what the shape of Earth was.
  • 2% said the Earth was flat without any doubt.

The survey also found that:

  • Age was directly related to Americans’ views on the shape of the world, which suggests that our educational system is failing our young. Here are the percentages of adults who said they’ve always believed the Earth to be round:
    • 76% of adults age 25-34.
    • 82% of ages 35-44.
    • 85% of ages 45-54.
    • 94% of adults 55 and over.
  • Income also plays a role:
    • 92% of adults  making over $80,000/year believed the Earth is round.
    • 79% of adults making under $40,000/year believed the Earth to be round.

This has to be the fruit of the lousy education in America. For a number of years now, there has been more concentration on indoctrination than on facts. God help us.

Who’s to blame? The parents, the teachers, they are parents too, and on to the top of the ladder is the school system, values have been lost, no salute to the flag, no prayers, no dress code, no morals. And the left happy the sheep are herded into the future.

This is the result of the “flat earth” movement which I believe is a planned pychological operation meant to discredit the truth movement. I watch youtube for a lot of conspiracy related videos and have been for years. Around 2014-2016, I remember suddenly being inundated with suggestions for “flat earth” videos. I avoided them and never watched them, but they were always suggested to me and they had lots of views because they were probably being suggested to everyone that watched any videos related to the truth movement, such as on 9-11, chemtrails, Sandy hook being staged, moon landing etc.… Read more »

Unfortunately the internet has a leveling effect, everything is granted equal validity. To ascertain truth we need a very good filter and we have to assume that we are being lied to continuously about everything. It is a time of universal deceit. One litmus test I use is that if a site is under constant attack or being taken down it is probably hitting a nerve and speaking truth (Like FOTM). We need to have an absolute reverence for objective Truth, be very skeptical, but at the same time avoid being hyperskeptical and ruling out that which is self-evidently true.… Read more »

Yes, but I would not want “others” to decide for us what is “true” or not. That seems to be the role that Zuckerberg is assuming at his owner’s behest.

I say get it all out there. Look at the group here. For the most part we don’t have trouble discerning garbage from reality.

To me, you really have to work at believing in the Flat Earth theory. The string of erroneous premises involved are too numerous to consider. I can see it as a “thought experiment” , much like string theory or some other experimental physics exercise.

To be certain, none of this is accidental. The “art” of the propagandist is to use everything to his advantage. I think sometimes that we are too cautious when assessing their actual goals. Effective manipulators keep their options open and their eyes on the prize. They do not care about individual beliefs or theories, only how useful they are to attaining their objectives. I think the overall goal would be the absence of logic, period. In this way, “truth” is what the owners say it is. Instead of using learned, objective facts, victims of this simply look up at their… Read more »

Yes the Frankfurters/PoMo’s are waging all-out war on the very concept of objective truth, reason, logic. For instance there is now a workshop offered at Cornell U. on “decolonizing epistemology”. Truth claims should be judged by their geographical (cultural) origin. Western European truth claims relying on logic, reason, mathematical precision, the scientific method, only “reinforce whiteness.” “Indigenous wisdom” is elevated to the level of science. So the universe originated when a giant turtle laid an egg, the Earth is cubical (Bizarro Earth), and some boys have a vagina. Even I know that

Thanks. I remember when they tried doing this with Joseph Campbell. The “takeaway” was supposed to be that “all myths are equal” (Christianity included).

It is similar to “rights come from the State”. So, in the absence of God, the State will create a “suitable” myth that works for their use.

Well I know this may sound crazy to some…even for those who are aware of conspiracies…etc. The earth is in fact not round, but flat. Space is fake…etc. The evidence is overwhelming. I was raised with “science” and definitely believed the globe…space…etc. But when faced with the evidence, flat earth is the only conclusion to be drawn. The reason why they perpetuate the lie of the globe is very simple…to hide God. To make“science”,materialism…etc your God.

Let’s see. With the naked eye, we can see that The Sun is round, the Moon is round, but Earth?

Then there was that flat Earther that spent a ton of money building a rocket to send him up 1800 feet so he could see the [flat] Earth from above. He could have bought a plane ticket for less than $100 and saw it from 33,000 feet…. They sure are dumb.

My husband watches youtube a lot. He was thrilled watching stupid kids miss questions like…who’s the VP?? etc. How many members of supreme court??etc.
Then I asked him what does the first amendment cover?? DUH!! He said right to bear arms!!!
I then told him, rsppa…religion, speech, petition, print, assemble.
He has dementia so he has a valid reason for not remembering; not so for these graduates.

Actually if one is particular about accuracy – the shape is not exactly round, it is an oblate spheroid, also called an ellipsoid instead of being a true sphere. Mainly this means that instead of having the same circumference in all areas, the poles are slightly flattened and the equator bulges because of the centrifugal force resulting from the spin of the earth which induces the earth to move outward further from the center of the earth.

As Tom wrote earlier the Earth is flat. Hard as it is to believe, once you have actually looked into it the truth becomes obvious. So please do not dismiss the idea like I did and all “flat- earthers” initially do. There is overwhelming proof. Spend some time. Look at alternative sources. That is why we come to this site. We are willing to see things differently. Keep an open mind. It truly is flat.

Twenty years ago I read a piece by some professor who told of one of his grad students who was astonished to realize that we had been at war with Japan – Like, we had a war with Japan? Like, who won? That was twenty years ago and young people have only gotten dumber. Since this is the 156th anniversary of Pickett’s Charge at the Battle of Gettysburg, I’m wondering how many know anything at all about that war. After two days of savage back-and-forth fighting, R. E. Lee ordered General George Pickett’s division to make an all-out assault on… Read more »

There is absolutely no proof that the Earth is round. The NASA images are a CGI artist’s rendition, which they admit to. If you look at year-to-year official images, they change drastically with obvious cut and paste clouds.

We have never been to the moon, vids have been obviously faked as there is not space to get to. But suppose we could, the astronauts would have been cooked in the Van Allen Belt. I am not a millenial, I am a retired Military Intel officer.

I have not yet staked out a position on this. We HAVE made unmanned flights at distances that can easily confirm the Earth’s shape. As to “manned” flights, the more I study and consider it, the less likely it seems. For me the primary problems are that here we are, all these many years later, and I just read a scholarly piece on overcoming radiation. In other words, we can’t do it now, how did we do it then? Secondly, that propulsion system shown (somehow) from the Lunar module to return to the spacecraft would have to be a lot… Read more »

Because they are all in on it too. They all “report” to the same master. “Space” is a tactic used by the NWO (or whatever you would like to call them) to hide God.

Had they exposed the fakery it would have been dismissed as commie propaganda. Robots have been landing on the moon for some time. We landed the Lunar Surveyor in 1966 I believe. The soviets crash landed a rocket on the far side of the moon, after sending a few blurry photos, in 1959. China’s space technology was made possible by a generous gift to the Clinton Foundation. The “smoking gun” re: fake manned moon landings is the Van Allen radiation belt which surrounds the earth. The only way for humans to pass through them would be if they had thick… Read more »

Actually, the recent flat earth movement was started to discredit the resurgent interest in geocentrism; the belief that the Earth is near or at the center of the universe. Geocentrism has actually been supported by many experiments, including the COBE, PLANCK, and WMAP probes, and has never been disproven. Even Einstein states that he believes the “movement of the Earth through space” cannot be demonstrated by experiment. Geocentrism is very close to being scientifically proven, which is a short step to the utter collapse of Atheism. At any rate, by pushing Flat Earth, the PTB can lump geocentrists in with… Read more »
