School psychologists behaving badly: bestiality & adultery

A school psychologist is a psychologist employed in U.S. public and private schools who provides psychological and psychoeducational assessment, counseling, and consultation to students, parents, and teachers. A school psychologist is also trained in the ethical, legal and administrative codes of their profession.

Given their professional training in psychology and their supposed commitment to ethics and morality, the behavior of two school psychologists who are in the news reminds me of that old chestnut about nuts being especially attracted to the psychological profession.

Stephanie MiklesMaryland school psychologist Stephanie Mikles

Brian Keubler reports for ABC2News that a school psychologist (“behavioral specialist”) in Maryland’s Hartford County Schools, 42-year-old Stephanie Mikles, has been indicted for bestiality.

School psychologists are called behavioral specialists in Harford County Public Schools and are required by the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) to have a master’s degree, advanced graduate specialist’s, or doctoral degree in psychology, education, or human development from a state or regionally accredited institution. In the case of Mikles, her LinkedIn page says she has a M.A. in Counseling from Rivier College, and B.A. in Education and Sociology from U. of Massachusetts, Amherst.

Stephanie Mikles was hired in 2009 to be the behavioral specialist for Bel Air, Maryland’s Harford County Public Schools. Last year, the child advocacy center of Harford County began investigating Mikles, in the course of which the investigators were surprised and shocked to discover still photos of Mikles engaged in “unnatural or perverted sexual practice” — having “sexual intercourse with a dog.”

Police say the bestiality happened in August of 2008 but in Maryland, there is no statute of limitations for bestiality. Sources tell ABC2 the pet still lives with the family at their Jarrettsville home.

Mikles is out on a $5,000 bond and is currently on administrative leave without pay from the Harford County Schools System. If convicted of the misdemeanor of bestiality, she could be punished for up to 10 years in prison and a $1000 fine.

SidwellSidwell Friends School, Washington, DC

Then there is James F. Huntington, the school psychologist at Sidwell Friends School — the elite private school in Washington, DC, with an annual tuition of around $34,000, to which President Lucifer sends his two daughters, Sasha and Malia. Sidwell is also the school of Joe Biden’s grandchildren. Chelsea Clinton and Al Gore III both attended the school, as did the children of cabinet secretaries, journalists, business leaders, senators, and congressmen, among others.

According to an account by Mary Yarrison and Harry Jaffe in The Washingtonian, the school and its staff psychologist, Huntington, are the defendants in a lawsuit brought by Arthur “Terry” Newmyer, the father of a Sidwell student. The lawsuit has a trial date of November 18, 2013.

Newmyer claims the school psychologist had an affair with his wife, Tara Mehrbach, while treating the couple’s 5-year-old daughter, and that Sidwell administrators knew about the adulterous affair but took “flagrant and outrageous actions” that “allowed its staff psychologist to have an open sexual relationship with the married mother of a then five-year-old Sidwell student he was treating.” Newmyer asks for $10 million in damages. (Newmyer and Mehrbach are now divorced.)

According to the lawsuit, during the course of the affair, Huntington sent a number of lewd e-mails to Mehrbach from his Sidwell account—sometimes in the middle of the workday:

  • The e-mails graphically recounted their encounters, including oral and anal sex, role-playing, and “manic rubbing and touching when [Huntington is] under the influence.”
  • In emails in March, 2010, Huntington expressed his desire “to be busy with [Mehrbach's] body” and why he missed her phone call: “Your call enabled me to kick out some 8th grade girls from my room. They were winners from Twin Day, so they were eating their prizes in here and talking about male P.E. teachers that try to hit on them.”
  • In one e-mail to Mehrbach, Huntington wonders whether he should discuss their adulterous affair with her daughter: “Do I talk about masturbating on your face or your marital situation with Terry . . . ? Decisions, decisions, decisions.”
  • Huntington had little respect for his profession. In an e-mail to Mehrbach dated March 10, 2010, Huntington wrote that “Shrinks are a last resort in my book” and that “Drugs, alcohol, shamans, chakras, faith healers, voodoo doctor, and people that work with crystals and Ouija boards” are better than psychologists and are his recommended “first choice route to go for help.”

Newmyer says he had contacted Sidwell numerous times to register his concern that the school psychologist was having an affair with his wife at the same time he was treating his daughter. Despite many entreaties, little changed. On February 11, 2011, Newmyer sent copies of a detailed memorandum on the matter to Sidwell’s board, along with some e-mails between Huntington and Mehrbach. On February 16, 2011, Sidwell fired Huntington. Three months later, Terry Newmyer filed suit against Sidwell and Huntington.

UPDATE (July 11, 2013):

On July 10, 2013, a judge ruled that 46-year-old Stephanie Mikles will stand trial for allegedly having sex with the family dog between August 1 and August 31, 2008. What prompted the police search of her home were allegations made by a boy who claimed he had sex with Mikles, after which she showed him a recording of her bestiality with her pet dog. Mikles had been put on unpaid administrative leave but yesterday, a school district spokesperson said she no longer works for the school system.  [Source]

This is how Israel deals with school shootings

After the terrible shooting massacre of 20 little children, ages 6 to 7, and 6 adults nearly two weeks ago in Sandy Hook Elementary School, Newtown, Conn., there is the predictable cacophony of “Gun Control!” from the Left.

Even worse is the scapegoating of law-abiding gun owners who have committed no crime. The National Rifle Association (RFA) and its members are not just vilified, but death wishes were heaped on them by CSI star Marg Helgenberger and U. of Rhode Island history professor Erik Loomis. The irony of anti-gun advocates wishing death for others, all under the guise of caring about life, is lost on the ilk of Helgenberger and Loomis.

Joseph Farah of WND points out that Israel, a nation surrounded by madmen who seek to kill innocent Jewish children any way they can, has rarely seen the kinds of mayhem America witnessed in Newtown, Conn.

This is why.

Israel protects its children with armed guards and armed teachers in its schools.

Writing in the Wall St. Journal, Massad Ayoob, director of the Lethal Force Institute in Concord, N.H., which trains police officers and military personnel in self-defense techniques, echoes Farah’s message:

In Israel armed teachers are common, and terrorist attacks at schools nonexistent. Indeed, it was only during a 1997 visit by Israeli schoolgirls to the ‘Island of Peace’ along the Jordanian border, in which the teachers had been asked to leave their weapons behind, that an Arab gunman took advantage of an easy opportunity to open fire, killing seven children and wounding another six.”

Ayoob proposes the Israeli model for U.S. schools, a stance supported by Texas governor Rick Perry. Ayoob writes:

“[In the United States] all adult employees of the school know how to operate fire extinguishers and supervise an orderly fire drill. A school nurse is generally on hand, but virtually all teachers and school administrators have learned basic first aid and CPR. It is but a small step from here to train school personnel in the use of firearms, and to arm at least some of them.

For the concept to work, armed teachers would have to be volunteers who pass strict psychological testing, and go through at least as much training in firearms and the judicious use of deadly force as current laws demand of armed security guards. The weapons would have to be discreetly concealed, and which personnel are armed should be revealed only on a need-to-know basis.”

Despite Obama’s decrying of gun violence, since he’s entered the White House, prosecutions for breaking gun laws have diminished sharply — a drop of 40% since the zenith reached under George W. Bush, which was 11,000.

As for the anti-gun ownership elites on the Left, their hypocrisy knows no bounds.

Both Senators Diane Feinstein (D-CA) and Chuck Schumer (D-NY) not only carry concealed weapons, they are also protected by armed police escorts. The obnoxious loudmouth “entertainer” Rosie O’Donnell, who once ran roughshod over conservative actor Tom Selleck because of his stance supporting the Second Amendment, has three armed bodyguards to protect her, her wife and her children. (For more, see “Second Amendment Hypocrites.”)

Michael Moore, who supports stricter gun-control laws, including a ban on automatic and semiautomatic weapons and magazine clips that hold more than seven rounds, is also a hypocrite. In one of his docufictions, “Bowling for Columbine,” Moore criticizes America’s “culture of fear” and its obsession with guns. But it turns out Moore has armed protection from a personal body guard. America found that out only when the body guard was arrested in January 2005 in New York’s JFK airport for carrying — you guessed it — a firearm that was unlicensed for New York.

Yup, like O’Donnell, Feinstein, and Schumer, Moore also is protected by armed guards. But they don’t want YOU, who don’t have the millions of bucks they have to hire armed guards, to own guns to protect yourself.

Then there’s anti-gun Obama and NBC’s David Gregory, who send their kids to the private, self-described “highly selective” Sidwell Friends School in Washington, DC, where annual tuition is around $35,000 (not including fees and textbooks) and where the children are protected by 11 armed guards, with a 12th on the way.

For the Left, their motto is ever “Do as I say, not as I do”.

By the way, Ayoob wrote his essay after the 1999 Columbine High School massacre. If America had heeded his advice of arming school teachers, the Sandy Hook tragedy might have been averted.
