Democrats cut military pensions in favor of tax credits for illegals

Democrats coddle illegals

Michael Dorstewitz writes for BizPac Review, Jan. 11, 2014:

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., blocked a last-ditch effort by Republicans Thursday to restore full military pensions. Their proposal would have been paid for by denying tax credits to undocumented immigrants.

Pensions to retired and disabled veterans were cut last month in a budget compromise hammered out by Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wa., and Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wisc., according to the Washington Free Beacon.

Sen Kelly Ayotte

Sen. Kelly Ayotte, R-N.H., attempted to restore the pensions in the form of an amendment to a bill to extend long-term unemployment benefits. It would have been financed by requiring anyone claiming the Child Tax Credit to have a valid Social Security number, effectively denying the credits to illegal immigrants.

The Free Beacon reported:

Ayotte’s office said the bill would save approximately $20 billion over 10 years.

According to the Treasury Inspector General for the Tax Administration (TIGTA), the refund provides incentives for aliens to enter the country illegally and cost taxpayers $4.2 billion alone in fraudulent payments in 2010.

“The investigations of this tax refund found that they were claiming it for people who were, No.1, not authorized to work in this country, and secondly, for children that may not even exist,” Ayotte said in a floor speech.

Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., called Ayotte’s efforts to require undocumented immigrants to present valid Social Security numbers — referred to as SSNs — nothing more than “partisan” politics.

“Talk about fiddling while Rome burns,” Boxer said, according to the Free Beacon. “If you are one of the 1.3 million people in this country—222,000 in my state—whose house is burning down because they’re going to lose the safety net of $300 a week to feed their families, to take care of their kids, to heat their homes, and my colleague talks about letters [SSN]?”

Ayotte’s amendment failed by a 42-54 vote, with Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.V., the single Democrat voting with the GOP.

“It’s a sad day when a common-sense amendment to responsibly pay for legislation that helps struggling Americans, repeals unfair military retirement benefits and reduces the deficit can’t even get a vote in the Senate,” Ayotte said in a statement, the Free Beacon reported. “We need to be able to have votes on behalf of our states, on behalf of the American people, and if we disagree, let’s vote them down. I don’t see what the issue is there, unless you’re worried that it’s going to pass because it just makes too much sense.”

FBI: More People Killed with Hammers, Clubs Each Year than Rifles

WOW Who Would have Thunk IT?

By Clash Daily / 3 January 2013

According to the FBI annual crime statistics, the number of murders committed annually with hammers and clubs far outnumbers the number of murders committed with a rifle.

This is an interesting fact, particularly amid the Democrats’ feverish push to ban many different rifles, ostensibly to keep us safe of course.

However, it appears the zeal of Sens. like Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) and Joe Manchin (D-WV) is misdirected. For in looking at the FBI numbers from 2005 to 2011, the number of murders by hammers and clubs consistently exceeds the number of murders committed with a rifle.

Think about it: In 2005, the number of murders committed with a rifle was 445, while the number of murders committed with hammers and clubs was 605. In 2006, the number of murders committed with a rifle was 438, while the number of murders committed with hammers and clubs was 618.

And so the list goes, with the actual numbers changing somewhat from year to year, yet the fact that more people are killed with blunt objects each year remains constant.

For example, in 2011, there was 323 murders committed with a rifle but 496 murders committed with hammers and clubs.
While the FBI makes is clear that some of the “murder by rifle” numbers could be adjusted up slightly, when you take into account murders with non-categorized types of guns, it does not change the fact that their annual reports consistently show more lives are taken each year with these blunt objects than are taken with Feinstein’s dreaded rifle.

Another interesting fact: According to the FBI, nearly twice as many people are killed by hands and fists each year than are killed by murderers who use rifles.

4 of 10 voters in WV Dem primary prefer a jailbird over Obama

In West Virginia’s Democratic presidential primary election last Tuesday, May 8, 2012, an imprisoned felon got 4 out of 10 votes against a sitting President of the United States.

That’s how unpopular Barry Soetoro, aka Barack Hussein Obama Jr., is.

Note that the primary election was DEMOCRATIC, not Republican!

Lawrence Messina reports for the Associated Press that Keith Judd, inmate no. 11593-051, who’s serving time at the Federal Correctional Institution in Texarkana, Texas, for making threats at the University of New Mexico in 1999, received 41% of the vote to Obama’s 59%.

Judd got on the state ballot by paying a $2,500 fee and filing a form known as a notarized certification of announcement, said Jake Glance, a spokesman for the Secretary of State’s office.

For some West Virginia Democrats, simply running against Obama is enough to get Judd votes.

“I voted against Obama,” said Ronnie Brown, a 43-year-old electrician from Cross Lanes who called himself a conservative Democrat. “I don’t like him. He didn’t carry the state before and I’m not going to let him carry it again.”

Attracting at least 15% of the vote would normally qualify a candidate for a delegate to the Democratic National Convention. But state Democratic Party Executive Director Derek Scarbro said no one has filed to be a delegate for Judd. The state party also believes that Judd has failed to file paperwork required of presidential candidates, but officials continue to research the matter, Scarbro said.

Obama’s energy policies and the Environmental Protection Agency’s handling of mining-related permits have incurred the wrath of West Virginia’s coal industry. So unpopular is Obama in West Virginia that, as reported by Newsmax Wires, the state’s Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin, who won his primary Tuesday, has volunteered that he may not vote for Obama in November. And Democratic Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin has said the same thing.

Voters in other conservative states have also shown their displeasure with Obama in Democratic primaries last March.

In Oklahoma, anti-abortion protester Randall Terry got 18% of the primary vote. A lawyer from Tennessee, John Wolfe, pulled nearly 18,000 votes in the Louisiana primary. In Alabama, 18% of Democratic voters chose “uncommitted” in the primary rather than vote for Obama.

Hillary Rodham Clinton beat Obama handily in West Virginia’s 2008 primary, and he lost the state to Republican John McCain in the general election. The latest state-by-state Gallup poll, released in January, found Obama with a 32.7% approval rating in West Virginia. The president had a lower approval rating only in Utah, Idaho, Oklahoma and Wyoming.

Inmate no. 11593-051 Keith Judd (l); Barack Obama (r)

Seriously, the only difference between convicted felon Keith Judd and Obama is this: Obama hasn’t yet been convicted!
