Conservative activist O’Keefe claims Cuomo targeting his group

cuomo

Conservative activist James O’Keefe is accusing New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s administration of targeting his group with document requests and a subpoena, claiming the Democratic governor’s recent comments critical of conservatives “aren’t simply words.”

Read the story and see the video at: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2014/01/23/conservative-activist-okeefe-claims-cuomo-targeting-his-group/

cuomo_idiotO’Keefe, whose Project Veritas is behind a series of hidden-camera investigations against left-leaning groups and causes, made the claims on the heels of the controversy over a recent Cuomo interview. In it, Cuomo blasted “extreme conservatives who are right-to-life, pro-assault-weapon, anti-gay” and said they “have no place” in New York. He later walked back his remarks, and said they were being taken out of context in the media.

But O’Keefe claimed that Cuomo’s government is acting on those words, revealing that the Department of Labor has hit his office in Westchester County, N.Y., with demands for financial documents for months. He compared it to IRS targeting of conservative groups nationwide.

“Governor Cuomo’s shocking words this past week aren’t simply words,” O’Keefe said in a statement. “Governor Cuomo and the New York Department of Labor are on a witch hunt, demanding all documents and financials since our founding. … His goal, of course, is to harass us and limit our effectiveness by tying us up in court. Just like President Obama used the IRS to target and suppress conservatives, Governor Cuomo is using his Department of Labor to do the same exact thing.”

A spokesman for the state labor office told The Daily Beast that it is legally required to ensure businesses pay their part of an unemployment insurance fund and provide information about outside contractors.

Requests for comment from FoxNews.com to the Department of Labor and governor’s office have not yet been returned.

O’Keefe, who repeatedly has been accused of deceptive practices by liberal groups, has built a reputation as a conservative provocateur. His hidden-camera investigations contributed to the downfall of advocacy group ACORN. With Project Veritas, his group continues to expose alleged fraud and misbehavior with the federal health care law, green jobs programs and more.

In accusing New York state of targeting the organization, Project Veritas released a subpoena issued on Jan. 9 from the Department of Labor. The document orders representatives from the organization to show up on Jan. 28 with a slew of documents, ranging from Social Security returns to unemployment insurance returns to check stubs.

The group claims its finances are “meticulously maintained to the penny” and calls the inquiries “meritless.” A statement said Project Veritas would be relocating to New Jersey.

Further, the group claimed that it complied with an earlier document request and showed up for a scheduled meeting on Dec. 13, but state labor officers “never showed up.”

“Just like the IRS, they are simply intimidating and targeting us,” Project Veritas said in a statement, while also trying to raise money off the allegations.

It’s time to euthanize Obamacare

All signs are that the monstrosity called Obamacare (or the Affordable Care Act) is on ICU life support.

euthanasize Obamacare

Even Time magazine calls Obamacare Obama’s “broken promise.” Below is the cover of the latest edition of Time:

Time

The White House knew the Obamacare website had problems, but launched it anyway.

Obama had said in a press conference last week that the Obamacare website’s problems were a surprise to him: “We would not have rolled out something, knowing very well it wasn’t going to work out the way it’s supposed to.”

But Ed Henry reports for FoxNews that “new documents obtained by Fox suggest people inside this administration just one week before the website launch had fears that it may fail, more fears than they may have led on publicly.”

Specifically, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services director Henry Chao wrote in an email on September 25, 2013 about “this fear the White House has about HC.gov [HealthCare.gov] being unavailable. I think we should have a more comprehensive answer as to how we will ensure high availability on the site.”

Nor has the website been fixed, despite Obama’s assurances it will.

On Tuesday, Nov. 19, seven weeks to the day since HealthCare.gov was launched, at a much-publicized meeting with Obamacare “navigators,” the website crashed while HHS director Kathleen Sebelius tried to help a woman to sign up online. LOL

sebelius CBS4

Worse still, if you go on the Obamacare website, the personal info you enter is not secure!

John Parkinson reports for ABC News that at a Congressional hearing on Nov. 19, 2013, cyber security experts said the Obama administration should take Healthcare.gov offline until privacy vulnerabilities are addressed and detection capabilities are improved. David Kennedy, a so-called “white hat hacker” who tests security flaws by hacking online systems to help identify weaknesses, warned that there are critical flaws and exposures “currently on the website that hackers could use to extract sensitive information. [...] Just by looking at the website, we can see that there is just fundamental security principles that are not being followed.”

Even worse, an Obamacare navigator is conspiring to release your private data.

Who needs computer hackers when Obamacare’s navigators are using your private data for political gain?

The latest sting video from James O’Keefe and his intrepid Project Veritas team caught on tape Chris Tarango, the communications director of Texas Enroll America, agreeing to help obtain a private list of potential Obamacare enrollee data for election/political purposes. Tarango goes so far to say he’ll “do whatever it f****** takes.”

Even more medical plan cancellations are coming, 50-100 million more!

Fox News reports, Nov. 20, 2013, that “a new and independent analysis of ObamaCare warns of a ticking time bomb, predicting a second wave of 50 million to 100 million insurance policy cancellations next fall — right before the mid-term elections. The next round of cancellations and premium hikes is expected to hit employees, particularly of small businesses.”

Supporters of Obamacare are paid to do so with your tax dollars.

Floyd Brown reports for Capitol Hill Daily: “By now, we’re all very familiar with Obamacare’s failed rollout. Yet one mystery remains: Why are some publications still praising the disgraced law? Well, the answer is simple: These publications collect millions from the government’s coffers.” WebMD, which has become a non-stop cheerleader for Obamacare, is an example.

93% of Americans want Obamacare changed or repealed.

John Nolte reports for Breitbart.com that a new CBS poll finds that only 7% of the American public want ObamaCare “kept in place.” A full 93% either believe that changes are needed to the law (48%) or want a full repeal (43%). This pits Obama and Democrat lawmakers — who thus far have refused to make any meaningful changes — against 93% of the American people and 72% of Democrats.

It’s high time to just put this Obamacare monstrosity out of its misery.

Rats! ABC hunts for homophobes in Texas, but fails

Have you ever watched ABC’s “What Would You Do?”? — the network’s hidden-camera gotcha journalism, anchored by John Quinones (below)?

John QuinonesOn June 14, 2013, ABC chose for its sting operation the humble folks of Amarillo, Texas  — what Quinones smugly referred to as “cowboy country” (Read: “redneck bigots”).

As described by John Nolte for Breitbart.com:

ABC News displays its own kind of bigotry by setting up their hidden cameras at a famous steakhouse in Amarillo, Texas, to hunt for homophobes. Three child actors dressed as Boy Scouts sit at a community table. One comes out to his friends as gay, and ABC News is there to capture the Southern-fried bigotry.

Except, all they find is loving Christianity:

A kind-faced woman (below) gently says to the three pretend Boy Scouts: “Listen, Christians don’t hate the sinner. We just don’t like the sin. But Christians still love ya.” Then she reminds the three actors that even though we sin, “you can ask for forgiveness,” and that the Bible says “Men shall not lay with men.”

WhatWouldYouDo1The cowboy sitting next to her tells the three pretenders: “There’s a lot of good Christians in this world that will help you out with stuff like that though.”

The kind lady then reassures the “coming out” faux Boy Scout, “If you do end up accepting it and doing that, there will be people that will accept you no matter what.”

As Nolte points out:

“What Would You Do?”[...] is probably the most appalling kind of gotcha journalism allowed to broadcast these days. The segments are almost always politically correct (race, homophobia, Muslims, bullying, smoking ), but the targets are not the powerful; the targets instead are everyday American citizens.

It is Candid Camera for smug, sanctimonious, left-wing elitists — Borat for The Awful.

If anchor John Quinones had even a hint of moral courage, he would turn that hidden camera on his colleagues who work in the powerful world of media. Wouldn’t it be interesting to see what the media would do in certain situations involving conservatives, Christianity, Barack Obama, oh, and Southerners?

But Quinones isn’t about afflicting the comfortable; he is a bullying cultural enforcer targeting the powerless.

And remember, when James O’Keefe does this exact sort of the thing to The Powerful, he is pummeled by the media and is then put out of business by our government during all of Barack Obama’s re-election campaign.

Police: You’re on your own

self reliance

James O’Keefe is that gutsy young man who, together with Hannah Giles, went undercover as a pimp and ‘ho, and captured ACORN staffers on tape advising them to circumvent the law.

Since then, O’Keefe and his investigative team are continuing to uncover political corruption through his Project Veritas organization — “to investigate and expose corruption, dishonesty, self-dealing, waste, fraud, and other misconduct in both public and private institutions in order to achieve a more ethical and transparent society.”

For Project Veritas’ latest sting operation, they visited police stations across America and asked law enforcement officials if, in the event of an armed break-in, what we should do in the minutes (or more than an hour in the case of Dallas) between calling 911 and the police’s arrival.

One officer instructed, “Go get some bleach. Go get ammonia.” Another officer instructed the undercover journalist to, “lock yourself in a bedroom” and “start yelling and screaming.”

VPOS Joe Biden recently advised Americans to “get a shotgun” for home protection. But when asked whether or not they should follow Biden’s advice, law enforcement officials told the undercover journalists they would be arrested for doing so.

The most frequent advice given by LE to the Project Veritas journalists:

You’re on your own.

Project Veritas “Outs” the Anti-Gun Newspaper Hypocrites

This “hot potato” just went up on James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas Youtube Channel.   I have a feeling it may be doomed to a short life on Youtube.  If you want to download it, see “How To Snag a Youtube Video Before it Disappears.”  ~LTG

PROJECT  VERITAS Describes their latest escapade in citizen journalism:

Posing as “Citizens Against Senseless Violence,” we visit the homes of journalists working for Westchester Journal News, MSNBC, and the Star-Ledger. We also visited the home of Eric Holder. None will take our signs that say “THIS HOME IS PROUDLY GUN FREE.”

Since these reporters and editors did not consider it a violation of the privacy and safety of others to reveal which homes have guns and which homes don’t, we went to see which of them would be willing to put a sign up publicly declaring their homes to be gun-free zones. While we didn’t find any members of the media with the strength of their convictions, we did find quite a few guns, and some good explanations for why they might be necessary….. Guns for Me, but not for Thee.

Son of Demonrat Congressman caught on tape plotting voter fraud

Patrick Moran is the son of Congressman Jim Moran (D-Va) and his dad’s campaign’s field director.

In the video below, you’ll see Patrick Moran advising an undercover reporter how to fraudulently cast ballots in the name of registered voters by forging utility bills and relying on the assistance of Democrat lawyers. Moran was videoed by the undercover reporter Oct. 8 at the Cosi Restaurant in Arlington, Va., just across the Potomac River from the nation’s capital.

Art Moore reports for WND, Oct. 24, 2012, that James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas, known for its hidden-camera probe of the controversial national community organizing group tied to Obama, ACORN, carried out the undercover investigation of Patrick Moran and provided the video exclusively to WND.

Jim Moran (photo left), 67, a controversial figure in Congress, has been criticized for his collaboration with Islamic leaders with ties to terrorism. In 2003, Moran, then a regional whip in the House of Representatives, was punished by House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi after he suggested Jews were responsible for the push for war against Iraq.

The Project Veritas video shows the undercover reporter posing as a citizen concerned that the Democratic Party might lose power in the upcoming Nov. 6 elections. The reporter explains to Moran that he had been apolitical but got his girlfriend pregnant and was concerned about the political threat to the funding of “reproductive services.”

The reporter, who approaches Moran at the restaurant, says he has a friend who found the names of 100 Virginia residents who have been registered the past three elections but have not voted.

Moran initially thinks the reporter’s intent is to offer the registered voters a ride to the polling place on Election Day to ensure they cast their ballots. But the reporter states he and his friend actually want to vote in the name of the Virginia residents.

The conversation goes like this:

Reporter: There are 100 people who don’t vote. He’s looking for two guys to help him with. …

Patrick Moran: Crank it out?

Reporter: Yes. He’s got a van and he and me were going to go around. …

Patrick Moran: Rally these people up and get them to the polls.

Reporter: Well, he was actually going to get in a van and vote for them.

Patrick Moran: Ohhhh

Reporter: I know, but –

Reporter: It’s scary, but I’m not. … I don’t want to lose, and I’m frightened.

Patrick Moran: Yeah.

Later, Patrick Moran explains to the undercover reporter that although a new Virginia voter ID law requiring identification will make his effort more challenging, the new law does allowsa broad range of forms of verification, including utility bills, bank statements and library cards. So Moran suggests creating fake utility bills to serve as voter ID. But he warns that there will be “a lot of voter protection” at the polling places to enforce the identification laws.

“So, if they just have the utility bill or bank statement – bank statement would obviously be tough … but faking a utility bill would be easy enough,” Moran says.

The reporter asks: “How would you do that?”

“I mean, I would just find, I don’t know,” Moran replies. “I guess. …”

“Microsoft Word and type it up,” offers the reporter.

“Yeah, something like that,” says Moran.

Moran emphasizes that the poll workers will be “trained up” on the new law to protect voters and “be cracking down.” If there’s any trouble, he says, an Obama for America lawyer, or another Democrat lawyer, will be on hand to provide help, he said: “You’ll have somebody in house, that if they feel that what you have is legitimate, they’ll argue for you.” But he warns the reporter that the utility bill has “got to look good.”

Later, at the Arlington County Democratic Party office, Moran advises the reporter to contact the registered voters on the list to make sure they don’t plan to cast a ballot Nov. 6. He suggests obtaining the information by posing as a pollster.

O’Keefe exposes voter fraud in Vermont

James O’Keefe is that valiant young man who exposed the criminality and corruption of several ACORN offices, which led to Congress withdrawing taxpayer funding of ACORN in 2009, which led to the closing down of ACORN in 2010.

Like a hydra that grows back a head when one is cut off, ACORN has revived itself under different names: Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment, New York Communities for Change, and Affordable Housing Centers of America. Last year, Judicial Watch discovered that the Obama administration is flouting the will of Congress by giving federal taxpayer money to precisely one of ACORN’s new guises. HUD gave a $79,819 grant to the Affordable Housing Centers of America.

Nevertheless, Congress’ funding withdrawal and subsequent dismantling of ACORN did put a damper on the criminal syndicate’s activities.

In his daring sting, O’Keefe had the support of the late Andrew Breitbart, whose sudden death on March 1 still awaits the L.A. coroner’s full report.

Andrew Breitbart is dead, but James O’Keefe and other conservative activists are carrying on the battle.

Christian Hartsock reports for Breitbart.com that O’Keefe’s Project Veritas has released a new video exposing just how easy it is to commit voter fraud in Vermont.

The video, a sequel to O’Keefe’s “Primary of the Living Dead” in New Hampshire, shows a Veritas agent entering various voting places around the state of Vermont, giving a different name each time. Each time, he is given a ballot without showing an ID, to his disbelief.

O’Keefe’s new video follows in the wake of a highly-politicized media attack on him after his exposure of voter fraud in New Hampshire. Those videos resulted in calls from the left for O’Keefe’s arrest. However, the videos soon resulted in the New Hampshire State Senate passing a new bill requiring voter ID.

O’Keefe’s new video from Vermont could not be more timely, coming the day after Obama’s Department of Injustice’s civil rights division blocked a Texas photo ID requirement for voters–to the applause of the American Civil Liberties Union, which claimed that the law was “discriminatory” against “Latinos, African-Americans, elderly citizens, and others.”

As the Project Veritas video shows, the current system in Vermont discriminates against actual legal voters, who must face the prospect of disenfranchisement by those who would vote in their stead illegally, or have their votes cancelled out by those voting illegally in place of deceased voters who have yet to be removed from the rolls. If it is not discriminatory for Vermont citizens to be required to show ID to get married or buy alcohol, it is certainly not discriminatory to make them show ID to vote.

“It is a national disgrace that ballots can be given out in the names of dead people,” O’Keefe told Breitbart.com. “Threats of government intimidation will not stop us from protecting the integrity of the ballot box. If any state has a system which encourages ballots to be given out to the wrong person, dead or alive, we will come to your state, we will film your poll workers, and Project Veritas will put the videos on YouTube. States like Vermont and New Hampshire have to take dead people off voter registration forms and clean up their act, once and for all.”

Here’s O’Keefe’s Vermont voter fraud video (h/t LTG):

Watch Out for Democrat Voter Fraud in 2012

The criminal syndicate ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now) was shut down after it was found to have engaged in voter fraud in 2008, and after James O’Keefe‘s undercover sting explosing ACORN employees giving advice to hide prostitution activities and avoid taxes. The exposé led to ACORN’s loss of government taxpayers’ funding via a “defund ACORN” act passed by Congress. On November 2, 2010, ACORN  filed for Chapter 7 liquidation, effectively closing the organization.

But like the undead, ACORN hasn’t gone away. It simply changed its name. Many of its former chapters and branches continue to operate using names such as New York Communities for Change, Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment, and Affordable Housing Centers of America.

One of ACORN’s new names is Project Vote.

Writing in Pajama’s Media, Nov. 28, 2011, Hans von Spakovsky and J. Christian Adams sound the warning that Obama may deploy Project Vote to rig the 2012 elections.

“When an incumbent’s prospect of reelection looks shaky, his temptation to take advantage of holes in the security of our election process is the greatest — especially if he believes he can engage in fraud without being detected. Should we be worried over President Barack Obama’s reelection campaign given his prior connections to Project Vote?

Project Vote is an affiliate of ACORN, one of the most corrupt advocacy organizations in recent memory. Its employees have been convicted in case after case of voter registration fraud. They have submitted tens of thousands of fraudulent forms, often on the eve of elections, causing chaos and confusion for local election officials in states ranging from Florida to Indiana to Nevada. Project Vote had to admit in 2008 that its claim of 1.3 million newly registered voters was wrong: at least 400,000 were rejected by election officials because they were incomplete or fraudulent.

Some former employees-turned-whistleblowers claim that flooding election officials with an overwhelming number of new, faulty registration forms was planned conduct, intended to cause turmoil and to make it easier to convince election officials to accept questionable registrations and questionable voters on election day.

As Matthew Vadum outlined in his recent book Subversion Inc., ACORN and Project Vote are interchangeable: “Their staffs overlap, they share office space, and they share money.  Employees migrate between the two legally separate organizations constantly.” The board of Project Vote was made up entirely of ACORN staffers and members.

In fact, even the New York Times reported that, based on its own interviews and an internal report conducted by ACORN’s lawyer Elizabeth Kingsley, the close ties between the two organizations “made it impossible to document that Project Voter’s money had been used in a strictly nonpartisan manner.”

The former executive director of Project Vote, Zach Polett (who served at the same time as ACORN’s political director), dismissed public concerns about voter fraud. He said such “efforts to curb so-called ‘voter fraud’ are in reality attempts to disenfranchise and silence our least powerful citizens.” As Matthew Vadum writes, Polett channels the grand liberal architects of radical revolution, Richard Cloward and Frances Fox Piven. They openly stated what many silently believe, that all “efforts to ensure electoral integrity and the rule of law are illegitimate and aimed at bolstering the oppressive capitalist system.” Cloward once said: “It’s better to have a little bit of fraud than to leave people off the rolls who belong there.”

It should be no surprise that Project Vote added Piven to its board of directors last year.

Despite the corrupt and fraudulent activities of ACORN and Project Vote, President Obama has already dubbed the voter registration part of his 2012 campaign as … “Project Vote.” This is not surprising, given his history with Project Vote.

As an alert reader of PJ Media discovered, former state Senator Barack Obama made a great deal of his relationship with Project Vote when he was running for Congress. He ran a one-minute radio ad about utility blackouts in which he bragged about having “headed up Project Vote, registering over 100,000 minority voters.” He ran a second radio ad about his taking on the health insurance industry where he again boasted of “working as a community organizer” and turning down high-paying corporate jobs after law school “to become a civil rights lawyer” and to “head up” Project Vote.

Obama was in on the ground floor when Project Vote was organized, and was proud of it in 2004.  Project Vote certainly returned the favor: all of the evidence indicates that Project Vote did everything it could to get Barack Obama elected in 2008, abusing its supposed nonprofit, nonpartisan status.

The testimony of former employees like Anita MonCrief also reveals that ACORN and Project Vote’s misfeasance is a longstanding problem. A question that has never been answered is how much Obama knew about (and was involved in) Project Vote’s misdeeds and internal policies when, as his ads claim, “he headed up” the organization.

Project Vote’s long history of lawlessness does not seem to have embarrassed the president, given he is using the same name for his election campaign’s voter registration project. The real question is whether Project Vote will get away with the same kind of abuses in the 2012 election, and whether the president’s campaign will be a willing partner.”
