Obama’s CIA spies on U.S. Senate

Spy vs Spy

The Voice of America reports (via Global Security) that on March 5, 2014, Senator Diane Feinstein (D-Calif) told reporters that the Central Intelligence Agency has launched an internal review into allegations that its officers had improperly monitored congressional staffers assigned to investigate the agency’s interrogation program.

In so doing, Feinstein confirmed earlier reports by The New York Times and McClatchy Newspapers.

Feinstein is the chairwoman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, which conducted a four year investigation into the CIA’s now-defunct terrorist detention and interrogation program, which began under former President George W. Bush.

In December 2012, the committee approved a 6,000-page report that concluded the CIA’s detention and interrogation program, which held suspected terrorists in secret overseas prisons and engaged in harsh interrogation techniques such as waterboarding, yielded little or no significant intelligence.

Under an agreement between the committee and the CIA, the spy agency had provided computers for the Senate Intelligence Committee’s staff members so they could review millions of pages of classified documents. But CIA officers allegedly conducted unauthorized searches of those computers to monitor the staffers’ activities, which lawmakers say violated the agreement. Some lawmakers have suggested the alleged monitoring may have also violated federal law that prohibits unauthorized access to a computer.

CIA Director John Brennan said he was “deeply dismayed” by the committee’s “spurious” allegations.

Both the Times and McClatchy said the CIA’s inspector general, who is handling the internal probe, has referred the matter to the Justice Department.

Of course, since both the CIA and the so-called Justice Department are in Obama’s pockets, I seriously doubt anything will come of either’s “investigation.”

Call me a cynic. Smirk.

Congress must ban all assault window-cleaners!

Calling on Sen. Diane Feinstein and the Democrats in the state legislatures of California, New York, Missouri, Minnesota, Colorado, Washington!!!

We need a ban on all assault window-cleaning fluids!

A senior citizen in Florida – GASP! — used a bottle of ASSAULT window cleaner to subdue a home invader.

Weapon: Grabbing a bottle of blue window cleaner Mr Baillargeon said he sprayed the chemical, pictured, in the burglar's eyes and blocked his swing of a crowbar

Nina Golgowski reports for the Daily Mail, March 1, 2013, that when an intruder armed with a gun and crowbar appeared in his Southern Florida home on Tuesday morning, 66-year-old Jacques Baillargeon grabbed the first thing he could find — a bottle of ASSAULT window cleaner — which he sprayed into the intruder’s eyes. (See pic above)

Often containing ammonia, alcohol and sometimes vinegar, ASSAULT window-cleaning fluids can cause a burning sensation when touching the eyes.

“I said, ‘No way this guy is going to touch my wife’…I will try not to panic and I will try to knock him down,” Baillargeon recounted from his Lauderdale Lakes condominium to WSVN.

The intruder swung his crowbar at Baillargeon who was able to avoid the blow and instead swipe the weapon out of his hand. Baillargeon is a 28-year veteran of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

The intruder never fired his weapon but instead quickly fled the scene, leaving behind the crowbar as well as a skull cap.

Baillargeon promptly called 911. The dispatcher reacted in disbelief: “You sprayed him with (ASSAULT) window cleaner?”

Only moments later the Broward police department were on the line with another call reporting a home robbery in the same area.

“Did you see anybody, can you tell me what they looked like?” police dispatch asked.

The caller, 29-year-old Nathanel Smith (photo below), said, “No ma’am, He had on a black, he had on all black with a bandana over his mouth.” But a crowbar and a skull cap were among the items stolen.

Invasion: Jacques Baillargeon, a 66-year-old veteran of the Royal Canadian Mountain Police, said that when Nathanel Smith, 29, right, appeared armed in his home he immediately grabbed an item to attackIf Obama had a son, would he look just like Nathanel Smith?

It turns out that Smith is Baillargeon’s home invader! Smith falsely reported that a robber had taken his crowbar and skull cap, which he had left in Baillargeon’s home, in hope of explaining why Smith’s fingerprints and potential DNA were on them.

Smith was detained by detectives after pulling a bag of marijuana out in front of them from his pants’ pocket. Police say he later confessed to trying to rob Baillargeon as well as another couple a few days earlier.

The 61-year-old couple had left their door open to enjoy the cool air from outside. “A black male armed with a handgun and crowbar entered their apartment and ordered the couple to lie face-down on the bed,” the Broward sheriff’s department said in a press release. “The gunman rummaged through the apartment stealing jewelry, cash, cell phones and a laptop computer. The couple was not injured and the suspect fled.”

Here’s Nathanel Smith being arraigned before the court:

Serial robber: Police say Smith, seen in court, has admitted to the robbery as well as a second to a 61-year-old couple only two days earlier

PA police chief invites citizens to join 2nd Amendment Reserve Force

Faced with the prospect of four more years of the POS in the White House, some conservatives and libertarians are beginning to fray, making crazy talk about an armed overthrow of the U.S. government.

Any blogger so irresponsible as to advocate that, should know that what you are proposing is TREASON.

United States Code at 18 U.S.C. § 2381 states “whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000.”

Such talk only plays into the hands of the Obama regime.

Already, the DHS labels conservatives, Christians, pro-lifers, gun-righters, and freedom-lovers as potential terrorists. Already, the U.S. Army has a civil war scenario instigated by the peaceful Tea Party movement. Already, Obama’s DOJ has a secret “White Paper” memo “authorizing” the extra-judicial killing of U.S. citizens deemed to be “senior-level terrorists.”

Irresponsible reckless advocacy of an armed insurrection will only give the POS the excuse to shut down your blog and install martial law.

My other objection to the crazy talk is this — There is so much Americans who love the Constitution can do, which we are not doing:

Did you know that hundreds of county sheriffs across America are saying a resounding “No” to the Obama regime’s gun “control” agenda?

“My friends, there is hope.”

That’s the first sentence of Tim Brown’s article of Feb. 13, 2013, for the blog Freedom Outpost.

Indeed, there is hope.

A police chief of Gilberton Borough, Pennsylvania, Mark Kessler, is inviting citizens to join with his police department in building a “reserve force” that will aid his police force should the need arise to resist Federal authorities intent on taking away our Second Amendment rights.

Mark KesslerPolice Chief Mark Kessler

Gilberton is a borough in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, four miles west by south of Mahanoy City.

From Police Chief Kessler’s website:

ALERT! Anyone interested in joining a reserve force with the Gilberton Borough Police Department ,contact Chief Kessler immediately for details! Due to our Country’s current situation I’m compelled to form an auxiliary force, DHS ( Department of Home Land Security ) is stock piling ammunition , Stock Piling Machine guns at a alarming rate! I believe we have no choice for what MAY OR MAY NOT happen shortly!, Ask yourself this one question, can you walk into any sporting good store and purchase 22LR, 9mm, 45ACP , 40 caliber,, 5.56/223 , 7.62×51 or 308 ammunition in quantity’s more then a box or two ? (OR ANY AT ALL) if you answer No, ask yourself why ???? I’ll tell you why because the GOVERNMENT is STOCKPILING BILLIONS of rounds of ammunition! (for what ????) even the police can’t get ammo ! DHS has enough weapons and ammo to wage a 30 year GROUND war, (BUT ON WHO and WHY) what is wrong with this picture???, Maybe the tyrants want to take as much ammo off the civilian market AS POSSIBLE! either way it’s very disturbing!

The reserve force will be made up of volunteers, they can be past or current police officers with act 120 training, along with non law enforcement personnel interested in joining the reserve force. All non law enforcement personnel won’t have any powers to arrest, but will be required to go through a background check, supply their own duty gear, uniform (military BDU, etc), weapons, ammunition. Everyone will be required to attend a firearms certification course to qualify with both long gun and hand gun at a rate set by the firearm instructor. There will also be hand to hand combat training, knife fighting training, urban combat training, sniper courses, search and rescue etc. The reserve force would only be called upon in the event of a Federal invasion or foreign invasion of the jurisdiction. They would not be called on in ordinary police work nor would they have arrest powers. This reserve force would be distinct from militia, according to Kessler.

In addition to assembling a citizens’ Reserve Force, Chief Kessler has also drafted a piece of legislation called The 2nd Amendment Preservation Resolution, reaffirming the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution which reads:

A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

Along with the Pennsylvania Constitution, which states:

The right of the people to keep and bear arms in defense of themselves or that of a free state shall not be questioned.

“I wanted to draw my line in the sand,” Kessler writes. “I wanted to ask my elected officials to stand with freedom, stand with the oath they took to defend freedom, to stand with so many great Americans that shed their blood or gave the ultimate sacrifice defending.”

His resolution was adopted on January 24, 2013 by the Gilberton Borough Council.

If you wish to be a part of Kessler’s Reserve Force, or if you are not in the area and wish to donate to the Gilberton Borough Police Department, here’s his contact info:

No Sandy Hook students are in the Sandy Hook children’s choir

On December 14, 2012, Americans across the fruited plains were horrified and devastated by news of the shooting massacre of 20 first-grade children and 6 adults at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in the peaceful prosperous town of Newtown in Connecticut.

The massacre of 20 five- and six-year-old innocent little children was the match that finally ignited a nationwide cry for gun control. As an example, Sen. Diane Feinstein (D-Calif) cited the “20 dead children in Newtown” as “a wakeup call” when she introduced Assault Weapons Ban of 2013 — her bill to ban “assault weapons” that include more than 150 rifles, handguns, and shotguns.

But it’s not just politicians who are exploiting the death of 20 little children.

In recent days, you would have to have a heart made of stone not to get a tad teary-eyed when you see photos and news videos of the Sandy Hook children’s choir singing their little hearts out — on ABC’s “Good Morning America,” at a New York Knicks game, and at the Grammy Awards.

Here’s a video of the choir on “Good Morning America” (GMA) on Jan. 15, 2013. In introducing the choir, ABC correspondent Amy Robach said (beginning at the 0:15 mark):

“We all know that this is a community, the Newtown community, that is both taking action and trying to find a way to heal. And these children, an amazing group of children right there, most of them from Sandy Hook Elementary School, they found a way to do both.”

One of the children in the choir, Kayla Verga, 10, said she was singing for her friend, 6-year-old Jessica Rekos, who was killed in the massacre: “Singing the song makes me feel like she’s with me and she’s beside me, singing along with me.”

Another girl, 10-year-old Sandy Hook student Jane Shearin, added, “I really want to be kind to the people who have lost their loved ones and help them to recover from their sorrow.”

When I saw the choir, like you, I marveled at how brave and strong these little kiddies from Sandy Hook Elementary School must be — to not only have survived that horrible horrible horrible morning on December 14, but to then muster themselves to help heal the rest of us by touring America singing “Over the Rainbow.”

Just to impress on you how amazing these children are, here’s a still shot of the choir from their appearance on GMA:

Moving tribute: The children, aged six to nine, appeared with singer Ingrid Michaelson on GMA this morning The children, aged six to nine, appeared with singer Ingrid Michaelson on GMA

The day before their GMA appearance, the choir had recorded “Over the Rainbow” at the Fairfield, Conn., home of Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth, two former members of the Talking Heads and Tom Tom Club rock bands. Copies went on sale the next day on Amazon and iTunes, with proceeds benefiting the United Way of Western Connecticut and the Newtown Youth Academy.

The only problem with the above is this:

There are no Sandy Hook Elementary School students in the “Sandy Hook” Newtown Children’s Choir.

Matthew Sturdevant, Jenny Wilson, and Dave Altimari report for The Hartford Courant, Feb. 7, 2013:

Are the Newtown kids set to sing at the Grammy Awards really from Newtown? That’s the question Newtown’s superintendent is asking, and she’s also asked them to stop performing.

Organizers of a Newtown children’s choir that has received widespread attention are defending themselves against concerns raised by the superintendent of schools over whether they have misrepresented the group.

Superintendent Janet Robinson took to a national stage, CNN, Thursday to voice concerns about the Newtown choir, organized by Sabrina Post, who runs a performing arts studio in town.

Robinson said a handful of parents called her office Wednesday concerned about Post’s history with the school system and about confusion over whether Post’s group includes the same students in a chorus that performed at the Super Bowl. All of those students attend Sandy Hook Elementary School, where a gunman killed 20 students and six women on Dec. 14.

Post was a former Newtown High choral director before she was charged with stealing from the school district by using bogus expense vouchers. She was placed on leave in February 2005 and resigned in June 2005 after agreeing to pay the school board $11,000. She was also granted accelerated rehabilitation.

The choir run by Post made its first national appearance last month, singing “Over the Rainbow” on “Good Morning America.” Copies of the performance, recorded with Ingrid Michaelson and Tina Weymouth and Chris Frantz of Talking Heads, are being sold on Amazon and iTunes with proceeds going to the United Way of Western Connecticut and the Newtown Youth Academy. The choir performed at a recent New York Knicks game and is scheduled to appear at the Grammy Awards.

“I just know that I’ve got a lot of people saying, ‘They’re on “Good Morning America.” These aren’t our kids,” said Robinson. “Why are they using this name?”

Post said she was contacted by “Good Morning America” to organize the children’s choir. All of the children are students at her studio. “Everything is done by the book,” said Post.

New York producer Tim Hayes, who produced the “Over the Rainbow” project, defended Post and the choir’s fundraising efforts Thursday.

“‘I’m a little sad that someone’s personal vendetta is muddying something that’s completely transparent,” said Hayes, who received an email from Robinson on Tuesday telling him to stop working with Post. “She attacked Sabrina and the integrity of 21 little kids.”

Hayes said “the office of the superintendent supported the project but didn’t have the ability to do it. So we went to churches; they recommended the Newtown Youth Academy. I went to see for myself if it was doing something good. They said there’s a private music teacher in town, you can ask her, maybe that will help. Sabrina picked up the phone and offered to volunteer her time, her space.”

Hayes said Post “never has an opportunity to touch any of the money.”

Some town residents Thursday said they were not concerned that there is a choir of children who are not from Sandy Hook Elementary School representing the town and raising money.

I feel that Sabrina Post and her group — she’s very professional, she’s very caring, she’s been very involved with the children,” said Carol Lawson of Newtown, a former elementary school secretary. “And I feel you can’t exploit children without parents’ permission. She is not exploiting those children because those parents would not allow [them] to go to sing with her” if she were.

Did you get that?

Newtown residents like Carol Lawson aren’t at all bothered that a choir that represents itself as being comprised of students from Sandy Hook Elementary School, actually has no student from Sandy Hook Elementary School. All that matters is if you “feel” that the deception is “well-intentioned” and the deceiver “cares.”

It’s all about feeeeeeeelings.

Who cares about the Truth? After all, in the Left’s world of moral relativism, truth is what you say it is!

One more thing:

The United Way of Western Connecticut that gets some of the proceeds from the sale of the Newtown Children’s Choir’s “Over the Rainbow” is the same United Way of Western Connecticut that had put up a webpage, soliciting donations for Sandy Hook victims, on December 11, 2012 — 3 days before the massacre. (See “Sandy Hook RIP/donation webpages created BEFORE the massacre,” Jan. 8, 2013.)

TSA agents told to “save yourself” in airport checkpoint shooting

TSA lines

Alan Jones of The Washington Times reports that a whistleblower in the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) warns that TSA checkpoint screeners are receiving training to prepare them for the possibility of a mass shooting at some airport checkpoint, and that the screeners are instructed to “save themselves” should a shooting occur.

Since TSA agents are unarmed, we don’t know what “saving themselves” would actually mean.

The unnamed whistleblower is a TSA screener who claims to have recently undergone such training, during which TSA personnel were confronted with a chilling checkpoint shooting scenario. The whistleblower is now fearful for his life. Along with the lives of other unarmed TSA personnel, his life would be in grave danger were an airport checkpoint shooting to unfold. He said: “Every day when I arrive for work, I look for an escape route in case someone opens fire. We have been told to save ourselves.”

TSA is an agency within the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS). In addition to the 1.6 billion bullets, mostly jacketed hollow points, which the DHS had purchased, Examiner.com reports, Jan. 28, 2013, that DHS just put in a bid to purchase 7,000 assault weapons — select fire or automatic AR-15 rifles.

assault_rifle

Like Congress and other government officials and agencies, DHS is exempted from Sen. Feinstein’s “assault weapons” ban bill.

In his Washington Times article, Jones also makes mention of something I had not known: The “underwear bomber” incident on Christmas Day 2009 may have been a “false flag” event by the Obama regime’s Homeland Security.

There are eyewitness reports, including one by Michigan attorney Kurt Haskell, a 2012 Democratic Congressional candidate who lost to incumbent Tim Walberg (R-MI), that DHS knew that “underwear bomber” Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, a Nigerian, was a threat to air safety. Despite that, Abdulmutallab was seen being assisted by “a well-dressed man” who helped the Nigerian terrorist board Northwest Airlines flight 253 without a passport.

Read the rest of Jones’ Washington Times article here.

I don’t know what this reported TSA training means: Is DHS sounding a warning to its TSA agents, knowing that there will be a “false flag” mass shooting incident at some airport? Or is the DHS merely being precautionary?

One thing for sure is that being unarmed, passengers waiting in long lines to go through TSA screening in congested airports are “sitting ducks” if a shooting were to occur.

Project Longevity and the Sandy Hook Massacre

Ever heard of “Project Longevity”?

No?

Sounds like some anti-aging scientific research project on the long-sought magical elixir of life, doesn’t it?

Not so.

Project Longevity is the Orwellian name of a U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) “comprehensive initiative to reduce gun violence” — not in the cities of Chicago, Illinois; Detroit, Michigan; or Oakland, California, which are plagued with “gun violence” and high rates of shooting homicides — but in the state of Connecticut!

With a total population of 3.58 million in 2011, here are Connecticut’s crime rates for murder and violent crimes from 2000 to 2011 (Source):

CT crime rates

Does the table above look like a crime-ridden state to you? In fact, the numbers of homicides (133 to 128) and violent crimes (10,083 to 9,767) actualy went down in 2011 from a year ago!

Now compare the state of Connecticut’s murder rates with those of 7 of America’s largest cities (Source):

murder rates of large cities

As you can see, the city of Chicago, with a population that’s 89,000 fewer than that of the entire state of Connecticut, had 292 homicides (murders) in 2011 — 164 more than Connecticut.

And yet the state of Connecticut is the object of the Obama regime’s DOJ’s Project Longevity.

On November 27, 2012, Attorney General Eric Holder, U.S. Attorney David Fein and Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy joined members of law enforcement, public officials, social service providers, community leaders and researchers in New Haven, CT, to launch “Project Longevity.” The project is funded by federal, state and local sources.

This is what Eric Holder said at the launch:

“Project Longevity will send a powerful message to those who would commit violent crimes targeting their fellow citizens that such acts will not be tolerated and that help is available for all those who wish to break the cycle of violence and gang activity. Today’s announcement underscores our commitment to working together – across levels of government and jurisdictional boundaries – to protect the American people from the crime that threatens too many neighborhoods and claims far too many innocent lives.”

On December 14, 2012, 17 days after Eric Holder’s visit to New Haven to announce the launching of Project Longevity, 20 mostly white* school children and 6 adults were shot to death in a town 34 miles northeast of New Haven. The town is Newtown, CT — a peaceful prosperous town ranked the 5th safest city in America by the website NeighborhoodScout.com based on 2011 crime statistics. (* Ana Marquez-Greene, 6, is part black. Her father is black jazz musician Jimmy Greene.)

The subliminal message impressed on the American people is that if the massacre had happened to a place such as Newtown, then no one is safe from gun violence.

Ron Pinciaro, executive director of Connecticut Against Gun Violence, said in a telephone interview that “we’ve got to do something” and that the change needed was a cultural shift.

The massacre of 20  upper-middle class first-graders at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT, allegedly by a disturbed lone gunman who then killed himself, would be the match that ignited a nationwide call for gun control and for a ban on assault weapons. (See Sen. Feinstein’s “assault weapons” ban bill.)

It remains unclear whether the gunman Adam Lanza actually used an assault rifle to kill the Sandy Hook 26.

Letter from a resident of Newtown, CT

The letter below was published on Jan. 10, 2013, in The Newtown Bee, the local paper of Newtown, CT, where the Dec. 14, 2012 Sandy Hook school massacre occurred.

It is also now confirmed — SURPRISE! [snark] — that government officials (including Congress, of course), law enforcement and retired law enforcement personnel are exempted from Sen. Diane Feinstein’s assault weapons gun ban bill, by far the most ambitious of the number of gun-control bills introduced in the wake of the massacre.

Elected Officials Are Fundamentally Dishonest

To the Editor:

This letter was forwarded to Barack Obama, John Boehner, Chris Murphy, Dick Blumenthal, Elizabeth Esty, and Harry Reid

I live in Sandy Hook, CT. My family and close friends weren’t harmed on December 14. That day impacted 26 families with an indescribable, staggering pain and anguish. For most of Sandy Hook, it merely affected us with an inescapable intensity of sadness and grief.

Gun control has long been a focus of many in this country. Though I’m not knowledgeable of all the nuances of the Second Amendment, based on the Founding Fathers’ circumstances, it had far more to do with enabling the citizenry to protect themselves against tyrannical government than against local psychopaths. It is about providing a balanced firepower so when King George’s successor came knocking on your door, you could fight back. Government today is no less inclined to abuse its authority than it was then. Based on the absurd and ongoing power grab that is present day Washington, it’s as threatening as ever.

That so many of you view the NRA with its resistance to further restrictions on firearms as intransigent lunatics has far more to do with how you conduct yourselves in office than it does with the NRA’s actions.

You in public office are fundamentally dishonest people. You lead lives of deception at every turn, structuring your lives as comfortably as you can while governing with an indifference and arrogance that is absolutely maddening. When the country is reeling from financial disaster, you waste a trillion dollars on a health care bill we can’t afford and you’ve never read. You claim it’s critical because health care costs are killing this country… no they’re not, you are! You are killing this country. You endorse the ongoing slaughter of millions of unborn children and whine when terrorists are water boarded. You can’t lecture us right in Newtown High School about not doing enough to keep our children safe, while simultaneously slaughtering the unborn. You fabricate the intense, media laden drama of the fiscal cliff and lack the courage to do anything about truly reforming the obscene gluttony of government. You know you’ll be out of office before the bill comes due… you don’t care and have no integrity nor honor.

You lie whenever and wherever you need to to move forth your agenda. Were you able, you would purge the US of guns… every last gun in the country, if you could. So please forgive Wayne LaPierre and those of us who don’t trust you as far as we can spit. You’re a dishonest lot, motivated by a distorted worldview. If mass murder prevention were truly your goal, you would welcome armed security wherever needed. It is outrageous that we protect our money with far more firepower than we protect our children.

I have never owned a gun, nor wanted to as intensely as right now. You’ll stop restricting guns when only you have them.

It’s open season on gun rights

fight for your rights

In the wake of the horrible Sandy Hook school massacre on December 14, 2012, true to Obama’s former chief-of-staff Rahm Emanuel’s advice to “never let a crisis go to waste,” the Left have been busy little beavers, churning out one gun control initiative after another.

Here’s the rundown.

At the National or Federal Level:

1. On the first day of the new 113th Congress last Thursday, 10 bills were introduced relating to gun violence, most of which came from Demoncrats seeking new restrictions on gun ownership. They are:

  • H.R. 137: requires people prohibited from buying firearms to be listed in a national database.
  • H.R. 138: prohibits the transfer or possession of large capacity ammunition clips.
  • H.R. 141: requires criminal background checks on all firearms transactions at gun shows, which would close the so-called gun-show loophole.
  • H.R. 142: requires face-to-face purchases of ammunition, the licensing of ammunition dealers, and the reporting of bulk ammo purchases. HR 137, 138, 141, and 142 were introduced by Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-N.Y.), whose husband was shot to death in 1993.
  • H.R. 34 and H.R. 177: tighten firearms licensing requirements. Introduced by Rep. Bobby Rush (D-Ill.) and Rush Holt (D-N.J.), respectively.
  • H.R. 65: raises the eligibility age to carry a handgun from 18 to 21. Proposed by Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas).
  • H.R. 21: requires background checks for all gun sales; gun owners must report when their guns have been stolen. Reintroduced by Rep. Jim Moran (D-Va.).
  • Countering the above are H.R. 35 and H.R. 133 that would end federal law requiring that areas around schools be designated as “gun free zones.” Introduced by two freshman Republicans, Rep. Steve Stockman (R-Texas) and H.R. 133 from Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.), in response to findings that violence in and around schools has increased since the gun free zone law took effect in 1990.

2. Companion bills to the above proposed House legislation could be introduced on the Senate side, but Senate leaders have reserved January 22 as the first day on which new Senate legislation can be proposed. However, Sen. Diane Feinstein (D-Ca.) already has prepared a bill, provisionally called the “2013 Feinstein Assault Weapons Legislation,” which seeks to ban the sale, transfer, importation, or manufacturing of some 120 specifically-named firearms, including semiautomatic rifles, shotguns, and certain handguns; as well as requires that grandfathered firearms be registered.

3. Yesterday, VPOS Joe Biden revealed that the POS might use yet another executive order to deal with guns: “”There are executive orders, there’s executive action that can be taken. We haven’t decided what that is yet. But we’re compiling it all with the help of the attorney general and the rest of the cabinet members as well as legislative action that we believe is required.”

4. In remarks today before a meeting with the NRA, VPOS Joe Biden intimated the Obama regime is seriously considering outlawing unregulated “private” gun sales.

At the State Level (source: Breitbart):

1. In Connecticut, where alleged Sandy Hook shooter Adam Lanza violated dozens of gun laws, the legislature thinks the solution is more laws. A new bill proposed by State Senator Beth Bye would create a massive 50% sales tax on the sale of ammo and magazines, ban ammo buying via internet, and limit the sale of ammo to those with a gun permit.

2. In New York, Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who has actually publicly pitched all-out gun confiscation (or alternatively, forced gun buybacks), is now preparing new legislation designed to strip New Yorkers of “assault weapons,” as well as restrict the size of magazines.

3. In Illinois, the state legislature is considering a bill to ban vast swaths of semi-automatic weapons and magazines, as well as destroy shooting ranges.

4. In Chicago, which has the distinction of having some of America’s worst rates of crimes involving guns despite stringent gun control laws, there are calls for more gun regulation. Mayor Rahm Emanuel is asking the Illinois legislature to ban “assault weapons”.

5. In Maryland, Gov. Martin O’Malley is pushing for more gun regulation.

6. In California, legislators are considering harsh regulation on sale of ammunition.

7. In Florida, the Democratic House is looking to prevent concealed weapon permit holders from taking their guns to public events.

8. In New Jersey, Gov. Chris Christie says, “you’ve got to do stuff on guns.”

10. In Iowa, State Rep. Dan Muhlbauer told a local newspaper, “We cannot have big guns out here … the semi-automatics and all of them…. Those are not hunting weapons. We need to get them off the streets…. Those guns should not be in the public’s hands. There are just too many guns.”

Chinese woman kicks assault weapon from attacker

This is the can-do spirit so lacking in America today.

On December 8, 2012, in southern China’s Guangzhou city, a deranged woman was threatening passers-by with a pair of scissors. Witnesses told TV reporters she was proclaiming the end of the world was near and had blood streaming from her hands.

A young woman dressed in knee-high boots and hot pants came by. See how she took care of the problem with one kungfu kick!

Seriously, I think Sen. Diane Feinstein (D-CA) should add scissors to her proposed 2013 Feinstein Assault Weapons Ban bill.
