Ever hear the term “Sovereign Citizen”?

We have yet another move to shift the definition of terrorist to match the description of Obama’s political opponents. ~TD

WND EXCLUSIVE

BIG BROTHER TO MONITOR ‘SOVEREIGN CITIZENS’

New task force to target ‘anti-government extremists’

With almost no media coverage, the White House last week announced its new Interagency Working Group to Counter Online Radicalization to Violence that will target not only Islamic terrorists but so-called violent “sovereign citizens.”

Projection: Psychological projection is the phenomenon whereby one projects one’s own thoughts, motivations, desires, feelings, and so on onto someone else. (Leftists assume conservatives desire insurrection because that is their own desire. You see that every time one of their commentators goes off the reservation and rants about how they would like to kill republicans. ~TD)

The FBI defines “sovereign citizens” as “anti-government extremists who believe that even though they physically reside in this country, they are separate or ‘sovereign’ from the United States.”

(I guess that crowd of polite elderly TEA Party people must have put the wind up these guys. ~TD)

The law enforcement agency noted such citizens believe they don’t have to answer to any government authority, including courts, taxing entities, motor vehicle departments or police.

The FBI warned that sovereign citizens commit murder and physical assault; threaten judges, law enforcement professionals and government personnel; impersonate police officers and diplomats; and engineer various white-collar scams, including mortgage fraud and so-called “redemption” schemes.

(Wait a minute. It sounds like Jesse Jackson and Louis Farrakhan are “sovereign citizens”. ~TD)

The new online working group will be chaired by the national security staff at the White House with input from specialists in countering what the Obama administration calls violent extremism.

  1. “The law enforcement agency noted such citizens believe they don’t have to answer to any government authority, including courts, taxing entities, motor vehicle departments or police.”

“The FBI warned that sovereign citizens commit murder and physical assault; threaten judges, law enforcement professionals and government personnel; impersonate police officers and diplomats; and engineer various white-collar scams, including mortgage fraud and so-called “redemption” schemes.”

These statements by our government regarding sovereign citizens sounds exactly as if they are describing themselves……legislators, politicians, Wall Street, the Federal Reserve, Homeland Security, many other law enforcement agencies, banking institutions, lawyers, and the rest of the corrupt individuals hiding behind corrupt corporations and the like. What a bunch of filthy hypocrits.

  2. Being originally from Yutah, I’ve had the misfortune of knowning several of these “SOVEREIGN” citizens. It’s an absurdity, unless one has joined the Sasquatch Subculture. In-the-which-case, I ‘spose an argument could be made in it’s favor.
If Eleven ‘Sovereign’ States couldn’t pull off such a coup–then, how in Heaven’s Name, is one lowly individual, going to accomplish it?
Perhaps the Mountain Men were seeking a type of ‘Sovereignty’. But, if ever such was their intent, they certainly failed; as civilization was ever pressing hard upon their heals. In fact, they were unwittingly, ‘aiding, and abetting’ it, at every turn–and ultimately succumbing to it altogether. Which leads one to the conclusion, that one is as SOVEREIGN, as he or she, is legally, financially, and morally empowered.
Their are several words, and phrases, that best describe the so called ‘Sovereign Citizen’–none of which is good. Permit me to submit several: FOOL; EMBECILE; LOSER; DERRILICT; ANARCHIST; REBEL; DIMWIT; NE’ER-DO-WELL; ‘LIBERAL’-TARIAN; SLACKARD; MISFIT; and NUT-JOB–to name just a few.
The greatest single factor to one’s success, is knowing where to draw the line with those whom one encounters in this world. Consequently, when ‘Sovereign Citizens’ show up on my doorstep, I never fail to put them up in the chicken coup.

    Well observed, TD!

Any minute now, and we’ll hear word that the Obama DOJ secret memo, Department of Justice White Paper, “authorizing” the extra-judicial killing U.S. citizens by the Executive Branch is amended by adding the word “sovereign” between “U.S.” and “citizen.” [Snark]

  5. You mean like that left-wing, gun-control lovin’ and big fan of Piers Morgan ex-cop who went bonkers in LA?

  6. I would be interested in seeing discussion regarding the difference between a “sovereign citizen” and the group “sovereign nation,” which is a confederation of individuals who threaten and sometimes assassinate public officials, steal whatever they can get their hands on, perpetrate credit card and identity theft and engage in other criminal mayhem that has little to do with heartfelt Constitutional political ideology and a lot to do with self justifying having anything they want at the expense of others and getting away with it.

  7. Trail Dust, do you really hear a lot of liberals rant about killing Republicans? None of the ones I know ever talk like that. There are crazy folk on both sides of the aisle. Please don’t assume they represent everyone on their side.

    • Good point. You are right Crustacean, I don’t hear my liberal friends talk that way either.

What I noticed is that a number of leftist radio and TV hosts have gone off on that tangent in the last few years. It is a phenomenon that seems to be increasing. If it were not for trends like this, I would not be sounding the alarm. People who call for violence are a problem.

And, yes, there are conservatives I would not associate with, too.

    • TD may have over-generalized a tad, but that doesn’t mean the fact that anyone making death threats should be downplayed or minimized. What happened to all these publicly-issued death threats by members of the Left? Why were the threaters not investigated and arrested?

DNC delegate says she wants to kill Romney,” Sept. 6, 2012.

Birthers Receive Death Threats, Jan. 11, 2011

In fact, FOTM has received death threats from readers identified as from your political wing.

    • Anyone making death threats is scum and should be investigated, no question about it. But like I said, there are crazies on BOTH sides. Do you think if I searched on the Internet that I’d be able to find some hyperlinks of my own? Heck, just off the top of my head I can think of a few right-wing nuts who didn’t just threaten; they actually CARRIED OUT hits against political “enemies.” I believe that for every Charles Manson or Chrostopher Dorner, we’ve got a Wade Michael Page. Or a Jim David Adkisson, or Anders Breivik, or… shall I continue? This could take a while.

And TD, your phrase, “Liberalism is fascistic and tyrannical right to its core” would make exactly the same amount of sense if we were to replace “Liberalism” with “Conservatism.” In other words, not much sense at all. I agree with a lot (not all) of what I hear from liberals – at least, the thoughtful, non-crazy variety – and I don’t have a fascistic or tyrannical bone in my body (despite what my kids may tell you :) )

  8. There is another angle here that may have been overlooked as well. My own observations have shown things like the “Republic” movement etc. being predominantly Christian, at least by appearance and jargon. I would venture a guess the sovereigns are similar in religious orientation, the trouble with this is, there’s an undercurrent to label the Christianity, that isn’t the water downed canned state-approved system, as terrorism.

I’ll elaborate: Everything you’re seeing done with islam now, is a test run for what they intend to do to Christianity later. This has been demonstrated with the waco mass murder (which also served as a trial run to see how many would approve of demolishing a non-approved church, besides being a downright public execution of men women and children by state stormtroopers.) and with the “hutaree” case which, now that it isn’t going the government’s way, is all quiet (but people do remember the sensationalist headlines, of course). Which is to say the only charges the gestapo could make stick were guns charges… to two members, after they plead guilty to such as part of a plea agreement (Read: to get the government off their backs).

The fact is, a system for demonizing and singling out non-conforming believers of a particular faith is being built, and the general public is largely ignorant of it. All of which is very troubling.
