How ironic the same man who shoved assault weapons into the hands of Mexican drug cartels is now planning to disarm honest American citizens.

The Justice Department is taking the first steps toward carrying out President Obama’s executive actions on gun control.

Attorney General Eric Holder on Friday released three proposals to strengthen the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS), which was one of the 23 actions ordered by Obama last week to tackle gun violence.

The proposed regulations would give local law-enforcement agencies access to the gun-sale database that is maintained by the FBI. The rules would also preserve records of denied weapons sales indefinitely.

The Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act already requires federal background checks for gun purchases, but not every firearm sale is covered under the law.

Currently, law enforcement agencies cannot perform a NICS check when transferring, returning or selling weapons that have been confiscated, seized or recovered. The new rules would change that, allowing officials to perform a background check on people who receive those weapons to ensure that they are permitted to own a gun.

  1. You can’t make this stuff up. We are living in a Banana Republic…

  2. Imagine, folks. Here we have a so-called “AG” – a criminal who ran the “Fast & Furious” gun-running operation, in which FULL AUTOMATIC weapons were dealt to vicious Mexican drug cartels; yet, he has the GALL to check up on legal gun owners?? Holder should start with himself. Better yet, he must RESIGN. He has no business whatsoever in enforcing laws he continues to BREAK every day.

  3. He can try….and lets just leave it at that.

  4. This guy needs to be shown the door, folks.

-This is that ‘tyranny in our face’ behavior I was talking about yesterday. ;-)

Yes indeed, this gangster government is probably the most lawless, corrupt group of thugs to ever hold such a position. Chicago politics truly is as bad as they say….

I hope by now everyone’s well aware that to ever disarm yourself to this regime no matter the circumstances, would be suicidal. If tyrants of the past have killed as many innocent people as we know they have, just imagine what these thugs are capable of doing to an unarmed citizenry.

  6. Who would comply with a registration when so many now understand that registration ALWAYS leads to confiscations (and exterminations too)?
This doesn’t even include that you must pay these bureaucrats $200 to register it.
Moreover, once you die you can’t hand it down to your kids/wife/friends.
SCREW these control freaks, I shall never allow any man, cop or king to render me defenseless against an increasingly authoritarian state.

  7. Civil disobedience. If that doesn’t work, then you turn up the heat. As for jury trials, JURY NULLIFICATION can be used to overturn unjust UnConstitutional laws.

  8. Mexican narco-terrorists can have all the guns they can walk away with but American citizens shouldn’t… shows how bad they want to get rid of civilian firearms.

  9. The first thing a totalitarian regime does is disarm its enemies. Holder et al are attempting to create and enforce laws that only effect law abiding citizens. Does it not follow that they consider law abiding citizens “the enemy”.
