  1. Yay! Puppy finally made it! :D

The adult dog was so patient. Animals really do teach others. Some years ago, I was at Petco and saw a display by Wiley Animal Rescue. Even though I already had two Persians and wasn’t planning on adopting another, I was drawn to a skin-and-bones sick-with-bronchitis toothless Persian cat who had been found on the streets in sub-freezing January weather. I’ve never seen such profound sorrow in his green eyes in any animal or human.

After I took him home, I realized Christopher had been terribly abused. He would flinch if I touched him and stayed on the linoleum floor of my upstairs bathroom for a week before venturing to other parts of the townhouse. For the first month, he had a perpetual look of bewilderment on his face. It was clear to me that he had been used as a breeder, confined to a cage on a linoleum floor all his life, and had never lived in a home. I hope there’s a special ring in Hell for people like that breeder.

So my beloved Gabriel took Christopher under his wings. I finally realized Gabriel was mentoring Christopher when I saw the two cats IN EXACTLY THE SAME POSE next to each other, whether sitting, standing, or sleeping.

St. Bonaventure called animals “creatures without sin.”

  2. Great video…….how can you not love God’s creatures? All of my pets since adulthood have been someone else’s leftovers/throw aways. They really do appreciate it when you can rescue them a provide a loving and secure environment.

  3. Aww. :)
