  2. This is what it’s going to take. We need to defy this criminal administration at ever turn, no matter the cost. Eventually it has to happen. Each of us just needs to determine the “line” that shall not be crossed. What are they going to do when millions refuse to pay the fine levied against them for not purchasing health insurance, for example?

    • Ted–I fear that they will take it out of our bank accounts or tax refund checks. I plan to talk with our CPA about decreasing our paid taxes so there will be no refund any more.

  3. Is it okay for people to defy the law? Is that the new stance?

    • The dictates of one’s conscience, not to mention the U.S. Constitution’s First Amendment’s promise of religious freedom, come before an unjust law.

Or are you, Hap, like those Germans in the Nazi period who later claimed “I was just following orders” and the law of the day?

Thanks, TD, for posting this! :)

    • Hap, are you interested in the subject, or just “trolling” around?

    • Hap, there is nothing new about defiance as a noble stance. This administration has made choices so odious they demand defiance.
In fact, Defiance is a name used by one of our own war ships. Oh, yes, defiance is an American tradition.
      USS Defiance
Meet the USS Defiance, dedicated to life, liberty, and the pursuit of all who threaten it.

    • Hap – do you think the Hebrew midwives should have obeyed Pharaoh’s order to cast all boy babies into the Nile river? When the beast demands the breaking of Gods holy laws, a certain amount of civil disobedience is required. Abortion in all of its permutations is abomination. After all, the owners of Hobby Lobby are more concerned with treasures in heaven, not of the world.

Resistance to evil is every Christian’s responsibility. We are not to give place to the devil. Not under any circumstances. Christ taught us to render taxes to ceasar, He never told us to render our children on the altar of the beast.

  4. Oh yes, I am JUST like the Nazis. Can’t you tell?

With that key issue settled, this NAZI now deigns to ask, would you support a Christian Scientist employer whose dictates of conscience are to deny any health coverage other than prayer?

    • There’s no need to get hysterical. I never said you’re just like the Nazis. Of course, by bristling, what you are doing is to attempt to put me on the defensive, instead of you answering my question. Alas, I see through your tactic.

Nor did I say or even imply that it’s OK for anyone to claim exemption from the law due to the alleged precedent dictates of his/her conscience. I certainly wouldn’t support a Satanist. Each case is different and must be evaluated and adjudicated accordingly. In the case of Christian Scientists, those cases have come before the court. Where the health of a minor child was adversely affected by the parents’ refusal to seek medical care for their sick or injured child, the court has come down against the parents.

In the case of Hobby Lobby (HL) and its defiance of the HHS mandate, HL has the First Amendment on its side. By challenging the HHS mandate, HL is doing all of us a favor because now the courts must step in and weigh in on the constitutionality of the HHS mandate.

Lastly, the HHS mandate isn’t even a law passed by Congress. Rather, the HHS mandate is the Obama administration’s elaboration and expansion from the Obamacare law. As such, the mandate is an administrative rule concocted by a bureaucracy (Dept of Health and Human Service) within the Executive branch.

      • To answer your question: were Hobby Lobby participating in a war effort and refused to comply with an order that, if followed, made them a war criminal, then I would support their refusal.

        • Thanks for answering my question!

By “war criminal,” I’m assuming you mean international conventions about war, such as the Geneva Convention. That then means that, for you, international law supercedes U.S. national law including even the U.S. Constitution, which is the highest law of America? That in turn means that, for you, international agreements trump U.S. national sovereignty. Why is that? What’s your reasoning?

          • I mean by whatever law that found the Nazis you mentioned guilty despite their insistence that they were just following orders.

    • Actually, yes, I would. It would not be due to agreement with their theology, but rather their right to make their offer without government interference. If somebody accepts their job, it happens in the full light of day.

  5. I support Hobby Lobby and their refusal to comply with the un-Constitutional Healthcare Mandate…I refuse to comply with anything obama…period!

  6. Good for Hobby Lobby! I am especially grateful to the Catholic Church and its many national charitable institutions, including but not limited to hospitals, educational entities, et al., who have lead the charge from the very beginning in this matter against this evil administration, filing 43 lawsuits to protect our religious liberty guaranteed to us under our Constitution, and taking to task the unreasonable, illegal and unlawful provisions of the HHS Mandate. The king declared war on all people of faith in our country by and through instituting the terms of the HHS Mandate.

Thank you Trail Dust for your report on this issue. Additionally, please see the post published on June 14, 2012 entitled, “Congress Must Protect American’s Freedom of Religion From Obama’s Assault,” which elaborates on the provisions of the HHS Mandate.

  7. “Is it okay for people to defy the law?”

I sure hope so, else I would not have grown up in the America I did.

Too bad that America no-longer exists.

  8. Kudos to Hobby Lobby’s for defying “abortion-inducing drugs” to its employees.
