Singer Harry Belafonte tells Obama to imprison political opponents

Harry Belafonte

Separated at Birth: Belafonte (l); Red Skull of “Captain America” (r)

Harry Belafonte is an 85-year-old black has-been singer who made his career singing cheerful calypso “Banana Boat” songs.

Yesterday, Dec. 12, 2012, Belafonte appeared on MSNBC where he was asked by black racist Al Sharpton about the wrangling going on between the occupant in the White House and Republican House Speaker John Boehner over the budget and the looming fiscal cliff.

Sharpton: “You’ve fought for decades for some of ‘entitlements’ that the right wing wants to try and balance this budget, erh, balance the deficit off of. You look at this — Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security. You’ve been an activist leader through Roosevelt…to Dr. King to Mandela to Obama. How do you view this and what is the challenge for those that are on the [battle] field today?”

Belafonte: “What I think is most attractive about this whole process is watching the political maturity of the American people…. The first question is whether Barack would even be elected. And after the turnout put him emphatically in the presidency, it’s interesting to watch his second term. Everybody really didn’t know what the game would be. But the American people in their maturity declared themselves fully, ‘We want what Barack Obama is talking about. We want the country going in that direction.”

Then, beginning at the 1:07 mark, Belafonte continues: “And what fascinates me is that in the face of millions of Americans expressing their desire, the whole political establishment defining its game, that there should be lingering infestation of really corrupt people who still try to dismantle the wishes of the people, the mandate that has been given to Barack Obama. I don’t know what more they want.”

Beginning at the 1:45 mark, Belafonte then says: “The only thing left for Barack Obama to do is to work like a third world dictator and throw these guys in jail.”

To which Al Sharpton chuckles “He he!”

Yes.

You saw and heard it for yourself.

We have reached the low point in American politics where two black wealthy faux-socialists — Belafonte with a net worth of $28 million; Al Sharpton, a Baptist minister who mysteriously managed to accumulate a net worth of $5 million — openly call for a president (who was “supposedly” elected by 62,615,406 voters to a second term) to throw anyone who disagrees with him in jail, thereby junking every right guaranteed to the American people by the United States Constitution.

Harry Belafonte, you piece of shit. On November 6th, 59,142,004 Americans did NOT vote for your dictator idol. You don’t have enough jails and FEMA camps to jail all 59 millions 142 thousands of us!

  1. Wow, Sharpton and Belafonte. Turds of a feather stink together. Harry Belafonte is a Commuturd of the highest magnitude……Or rather the highest magniturd! Will somebody please flush him (and Sharpton) down the sewer with the rest of their stenchful kith and kin?

  2. Thank you Dr. Eowyn and Gateway Pundit for this interesting and revealing post. Their evil statements indict who Sharpton and Belafonte really are – racists, bigots and would-be monarchs. They make me sick. And yes, there wouldn’t be enough jails to imprison the millions of us Americans who oppose the Obama “regime” and its evil and immoral agendas.

  3. And he doesn’t have a mandate, either. The numbers don’t support it. ‘Mandate’ is just a power word they’re throwing out there to the public manipulating them into thinking they have more than they have. Smoke and Mirrors.

And of that slim majority, I would say a good portion of those have no idea what they voted for. Like the Pravda commentator said, – they’re illiterate, and Left Progressive Collectivists like these two, Obama et al, are exploiting that illiteracy, not to mention deliberately and methodically preying on fears. They know very well if those voters knew, and understood what they were up to, they’d have a big problem. These people know that, it’s why they continue with this emphatic majority giving them a mandate line, so those less-than-knowledgeable ones, when they have an inkling will simply roll over because they’ll think, ‘well, the majority want this, who am I and what can I possibly do’. Plays on their self-doubts and keeps them quiet, and in the parade, they know their audience will never educate themselves.

And they are afraid of that game coming unraveled before they can complete their goals. Think back how nervous they all were. Carney was stuttering, sweating and looking sick, Obama looked like a train wreck, and then literally crying with relief. I think they were extremely concerned what would happen to them if they lost. And if they were that concerned, there had to be a reason. Now they’re back cockier than ever and showing their hands more and more. Sharpton said in 2009, of course the people voted for socialism when they voted for Obama
Unfortunately, that’s an alternate reality we’ll never know, and more unfortunately it’s worse than socialism, I’m afraid..

  4. Bellafonte has made a vile and evil comment. He & Sharpton are the real racists in America.

  5. Dr. Eowyn,

I knew the moment I saw this story that you would pick it up. This rascal is confirming everything we’ve been sounding the alarm for.

America, you’ve been warned, but you turned a deaf ear. Your blood is on your own hands.

  6. Isn’t this the same clown that hugged Hugo Chavez?

  7. since the President already has the authority under the NDAA to arrest and hold people indefinitely without filing charges or giving them a trial, and since the Media will not cover anything negative about Obama, what makes you think he is not already arresting dissenters?
No, I am not making an actual accusation here. Rather, I would just like to point out that Belafonte’s suggestion could easily be put into action.

  8. F’ing bite me, you dried-up, stinking communist puke.

-And that was the clean version.

  14. It’s sad for me to see someone I admired as a singer make such truly stupid, wrong, and ignorant statements. I wish I’d never read them, but, as we said in VietNam, “There it is!” I’ll just pretend that he died a while ago and it’s a zombie I see instead.
