Can You Say Oops? San Diego’s Fireworks FAIL: Entire Show Goes Off at Once!

Last night, tens of thousands gathered in and around San Diego Harbor for the Big Bay Boom fireworks show. The Glorietta Bay show is billed as one of the largest in the country and was supposed to be a 17-minute, pyrotechnic spectacular scheduled to start at 9pm. It wasn’t.
Instead of seeing a choreographed, computer-controlled fireworks show synched to music, people saw less than a minute of chaos. Thanks to a glitch in the system, all of the explosives ignited at the same time.

  1. That happened while we were stationed in Biloxi, Mississippi in the mid 80s. The barge with all the fire works was out on the Gulf, and ready to start when it caught on fire . It was crazy!!!!!

  2. Well, it was probably Bush’s fault ! (lol) All kidding aside, that would be so disappointing. You pack up the kids and the drinks and food , find parking, get all settled in and you wait awhile for the show to start …and then POOF !! …It’s over !!

  3. Impressive, though. :)

  4. LOL – I guess you could say they blew their wad.

  5. And how much did that cost taxpayers?
