The Face of Christ

“And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with his wrath? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just: that his justice cannot sleep for ever.”Thomas Jefferson, Notes on the State of Virginia, Query 18, 1781

“Whatever we once were, we’re no longer a Christian nation.”Barack Hussein Obama, June 2007 and April 6, 2008.

  1. Eowyn–love your Sunday AM posts. I always look forward to them. For the first time in a very long time, I feel there is hope for our great nation.

  2. Thank you for posting this moving video. During times of uncertainty and trial there is one whom we can all rely… the Savior even Jesus Christ! I love him with all my heart. It is he who will repair the broken heart, heal us from transgression, rescue the weary, and it is through his grace we are privileged to return to the Father. May all of you enjoy a blessed sabbath!

  3. What a perfect way to start my day. Thank you, Eowyn. Praying for courage to stand what where God needs me to stand and the faith to open my heart to whatever lessons God has in store for me, no matter how painful, and even more for the willingness to look past my petty arrogance.

  4. Every time I look around at the world today and the people in it, my heart breaks. I am sure it is only a “fragment” of what the Son of God, Yeshua feels when HE looks around. Many who deny Him or scoff at His return, will be very surprise. I do believe He is coming soon. Thanks for this moving video.

Yeshua is the only One we CAN depend on, He will never leave nor forsake us.

“Suffer the little children to come to me and forbid them not! For such is the Kingdom of heaven.” We must accept the Kingdom of God as a little child or we shall in no way enter therein.

This man, McNaughton, is very special, not to mention great graphically.

The final comment that Eowyn put on the original post invites my comment in return, even though the emphasis, especially today should be on Jesus: Obama may think that this is no longer a Christian nation, and no doubt, there are many forces which are working to that end, but it is still Christian nation because of the principles on which it was founded. Why does that even have to be discussed. Obama and his mohammedan friends can just have their feelings hurt about that, and if they don’t like it they can go back to their mud hut villages where the local mohammedan leader can instruct them on how to wipe their rear ends.

  6. Thank you so much for this post. My mother would frequently paint pictures of Christ with his sheep, little children or in suffering and Mr. McNaughton’s style made me reflective of the paintings I grew up with.
Mr. McNaughton’s faith shines through and I truly loved his discussion. Our Lord’s appearance and the artist’s interpretation is less important than His love and attitude for us. In our homily today our priest spoke of how unimportant wealth is and how we must rely on our inner goodness and love for others. In addition to that I often think of how MR. Obama misspoke when he said we are no longer a nation of Christians. My church is packed every week so it is obvious we didn’t get the message!
Thank you so much for sharing.
